Great Deal on AKV UY Oct pts..but question

So we bit on a deal from our guide....
October UY for AKV
100 pts, $19 discount pp
get 08 UY pts free before 09
split down payment in half w remainder due in 30 days.
We just agreed yesterday and see the pts are in our account today. However we don't see the ability to bank these 100 pts although our guide indicated we would be able to bank those points. I do plan on giving MS a call tomorrow but was wondering if anyone had dealt with this type of situation before.

Not to throw a monkey wrench into the mix, but keep in mind that with an OCTOBER UY, any cancelled summer (JULY&AUG) vacations may cause you to lose your points.

Same here!! Oct. UY also. I was told NO by my guide and a Supervisor. Only could get 08 points if there was no incentives at all... full price.

I'm glad for you... what an awesome deal. I just wish they were consistent with what they offer. So I ended up with Oct. UY and 09 points only.

Maybe they ran out of Oct 08 points some how? I added on in June and we definitely got 08 AND 09 points and I was able to bank the 08 points for AKV. We also got the discount, did NOT pay full price for the add on.

I am a new member, working on closing from Disney.

I called last Fri to see if I could get the '08 pts as they were not offered to me on my contract.

Checked DVCmember online over the weekend and there they were !!! Already credited to may account. I presume the paperwork will arrive today to re-do as this is is a change to the contract.

I then called member services and rearranged my points on an already made reservation so that the extra 08 pts were used and the previously used pts
were credited to my 09 UY which I will eventually bank. Very easy.

I would definately call back. They want to sell the points.

We just agreed to purchase yesterday. I got 250 points at SS with a Sept UY. $91 pp with the incentives since I had actually called before the referral incentive expired. I asked for 08 points and was told that was not possible. I was told that if I went with a Dec UY, 2008 points might be possible-he'd have to check, but I would have to use them before Dec and banking was not an option so I agreed to the Sept UY. The more I'm reading on the Board, I should take the Dec UY, get the 2008 points and their should be no problem banking. Correct?

My brain is turning to mush trying to absorb all of this and make sure I do the right thing!

Yes, I'd go for the December UY points and then call MS to bank them for 2008.

I got the 100 points akv thing also. I had to specifically call up dvc member services to get the points banked. I was told it cant be done online till your closing date.

Disney have been allowing new members to get in to AKV (and I believe SSR) at the 100 point level, instead of the typical 160 points.

If you want BLT, you still have to get 160 points. But, they have been allowing people to split the 160 between two resorts (ie: 100 AKV and 60 BLT).

Intresting....thanks. My friend has been looking into buying but felt 160pts was too much for her since she wants to go every other year and likes to take cruises on the off year. This could work for her.

I also was upset after buying and finding out I was a week past the banking deadline...I thought it was ridiculous that they would offer me this deal where they would back date my use year 6 months and then have me unable to bank them...I called MS and they banked them with no problem...they said that there is a 4 month window in general, so the online system goes by that, but as a new member, they always waive that requirement.
Don't ask your guide..call MS...
