On this thread I am talking Alamo rates. And, yes, I have cars booked with both Alamo and National.

Hi Terri!

Is that Entertainment Code and Coupon right from the Entertainment book for 2004?

I just purchased a 2004 edition for my September honeymoon, and I tried entering that information, but it says I need to contact customer service because the website can't book it for me.

I've been having problems with the Alamo site and entertainment book coupon/codes lately too!

I clear out the history and cookies on the site but still no luck.
Will keep trying!

When I call them and ask them to apply coupon/code they come out to way more than I do with no coupons or codes.

Just ran my dates through with the Entertainment code/coupon and for a compact, Aug 25-30 the total rate is $108 and change.

I have a National Reservation, EA for $124 for the same period.

Would you switch?

How much longer can the lines be (over the EA) if i join Quick Silver?

The code and coupon are from the Entertainment 2004 book. I didn't have any problems using them. What are your dates? I can try from here.

Are you putting your Quicksilver number in there (assuming you are a QS member)?

I guess that's why, because yes. I was entering QS information.

Because it was quoting me the rate (Just not able to book it) I tried again, and the rate with the coupon changed. The coupon rate is now higher than what I have booked.

Tried it without the QS information, and bam there it is!

Went from $171.49 for an Olds Alero to $146.93 for the same car! I would have gotten the full size, but my fiancée won't drive the full size, and I don't like driving from a park at closing!

Just wanted to let everyone know that you can get about the same if not a little better rates with the Priceless Vacations codes. Go to the Priceless Vacations web page and try the codes listed there. It isn't much good yet for our Dec '04 trip, but I tried the 9/3-9/11 dates the OP listed and got a full size for $157.64 inclusive.

I'll have to keep an eye on this as our Dec dates get closer.

Just E-Mailed Alamo and got the response and boy do *I* feel stupid.

You can't reserve with Quicksilver and a coupon because Quicksilver bypasses the counter and you wouldn't have the opportunity to turn in the coupon.

Really?,It appears we have received at least two different answers. Figures.
There was something about the "great rate" QS members get and that is why we cannot use the coupon. We can, however, call customer service and they will note your QS info on the reservation. You don't bypass the counter at MCO, there is no kiosk, there is, however a special line, so, that business about bypassing the counter is "corporate speak".
They recently changed this, btw. Dee's reservation went through with the coupon and his QS number about a month ago, now, it will not go through.
Mine has not worked for months now.
They told me I had to call the QS office and get the corporate dropped so it would allow me to use the coupon.
As you can probably see, I have been spending a LOT of time on the phone with Alamo.

Whatever the reason, I'm not too concerned because the E-Mail also said that I could use the Quicksilver line even though the reservation doesn't have QS attached.

Plus we're going at such a dead time of year on a Monday that I'm not too concerned about lines.

Like I said though - from $214 to some $146? I don't care whether or not it's Quicksilver. That rate is too good!

Yes, it is a great rate!!!! Thanks for the info on the QS line. I am, however, wondering if we get the same QS benefits, ie: free spouse driving priviledges and would in be in addition to the free driver on some plans/codes.

I have okay rates with National but not as goos as some of you. I have checked with Alamo and i get similar rates as my existing ressie but still not as goos as you guys.

I have Sept.27-Oct.4 using priceless/entertainment coupon
$150.03

Plus Sept 27-Oct 11 using same is $321.35.

ALamo is about the same. Could it be because my dates are later than yours and the rates haven't dropped yet or am I doing something wrong?

They said my corporate ID doesn't allow for 1 free additional driver anyway.



I E-Mailed them back and included the ORIGINAL Quicksilver reservation that included a free additional driver.

Oy.

Still waiting for an E-Mail response, but I called their tech support line (the number they give you when you try and use a coupon with QS).

Spoke to a VERY surly gentleman who told me the same thing that the initial E-Mail had said. I can't use the coupon because you have to go to a counter agent to turn in the coupon.

He said I could make the reservation with my Quicksilver information and then just give them the coupon at the desk.

I kept my great rate of $146.93 with the coupon and made a Quicksilver reservation. I'll try and check in with the QS reservation and give them the coupon and see what happens.
