Hi! I am just about two weeks away from making my ps for our August trip to DL. My husband likes a good steak dinner and since we will be celebrating our 15th wedding Anniversary, with our 11 year old DS, I was wondering if someone can give me their thought on Granville's steakhouse. We have eaten at The Yachtsman in the Yacht and Beach Club in WDW and really enjoyed that. Is Granville's similar?? I also considered forgetting the steakhouse and trying Nappa Rose's at the GC, where we are staying. I do think my DS would enjoy steak better than some of the fancier seclections(?) at Nappa's, though. Any opinions, suggestions, would be appreciated. We will be there for four nights and are def. going to do the Blue Bayou for lunch one day. I do not think we can afford to do both dinners as I believe they are both very pricey rest. Correct? Thanks so much!!:D

As a side note, when I first started researching the restaurants in DL and saw the steak house was called Granville's, I was so surprised as that was my Father inlaw's name. He died 11 years ago and as you can imagine I have not met anyone with that first name since him. A part of me thinks maybe we should try it then, after all my FIL loved a good steak, too. LOL Thanks again!

We were in DisneyLand last Nov. We ate at Granville's steakhouse. We total injoyed it but it was a little pricey. I think it was about $75.00 for the 2 of us, but it was one of the best steaks we have had. I would rececamed it to other people.:wizard:

Thank you for your quick response Pam. Anyone else have opinions on the Granville's Steakhouse? I think we will try it, but it is always fun to hear different opinions. Anyone been to Yachtsman in WDW and Granville's in DL and can compare experiences?
Thanks Again!! :D

We just got back last nite and we eat at Granvilles our last nite there. We loved it! The bill was $265 for the six of us (4 adults and 2 kids). The steaks were absolutely wonderful. Everything is a la carte, so if you want a salad, soup, vegetable, potato, etc., you will pay extra for it. All in all, I would say it was well worth the money.

I beleive the reason the restaurant has it's name is that the original builder and owner of the hotel was married to Bonita Granville. The three towers at the Disneyland Hotel are called the Marina Tower, ther Sierra Tower, and the Bonita Tower.

We went to DL in February. We ate at Blue Bayou, Goofy's, Storytellers, PCh & Hook's Pointe. We absolutely loved Hook's Pointe. I had the steak & shrimp and it was fantastic. We thought the food was excellent, the service superior, and a very inviting atmosphere. The staff was so awesome - we will go back anythime!

We ate at Blue Bayou on my birthday, and I have to say we were extremely disappointed. The service was ok & the food was not very good. Good luck and Happy Anniversary!

I thought I was the only one who did not enjoy Blue Bayou's food. We live in New Orleans, and that was not New Orleans style food, But I am glad we went because the theaming was good.

Thanks everyone. I think we will give it a try. I am sorry to hear about Blue Bayou being dissappointing for some. I had heard so many positive things about it, but lately more negative.:( I think we will, however, give it a try also. The theming and location sound nice for lunch. Hopefully, the food will be good as well. Thanks!!:D

daannzzz: Thanks for info. on the name of the restaurant. I figured it was for a last name because I have never met another Granville as a first name since my FIL.

Thanks!:D

Definitely give Blue Bayou a try. The food isn't the best (but not the worst either), but the atmosphere more than makes up for it. That's the reason I like to go.

The best way to look at Blue Bayou is that it's really quite good for theme park food. Is it on par with a fancy restaurant outside the park? Nope. But it is very good, and it's a unique dining experience that you'll only find in Disneyland.
