Has anyone been to the international dinner and illuminations dessert buffet at epcot. We are going as a grand gathering and it sounded pretty cool. The CM on the phone said characters come and dance with the kids and you have VIP seating at illuminations (which is nice to ont wait for a show with 6 children between the ages of 3-7).

Any feedback or reviews?

We did the Epct GG about a year and a half ago. We had about 20 of us. There was a DJ and Auntie "Roz" who were the comedy/emcees for the night. Auntie Roz came around to each table and asked if we were celebrating anything. It was my Aunt's b-day so they made a big deal about announcing that during the time we were going up to the buffett to eat.

I don't remember anything special about the food. It was okay, not fantastic.

After dinner Auntie Roz got the kids together and they put on a little skit. It was cute. After that Goofy and Minnie came out and danced around. I think there was a congo line...??? they danced a few dances.

When they were done, I think they posed for pictures as we exited the Odessy restaurant with our little pins on our shirts. A CM guided us behind the large store that is at the beginning of WS.

The Illuminations viewing area and dessert was fantastic and definitely was the highlight of the evening. The desserts were piled high and they served coffee. (I think water was available too) We were here about 1/2 hour to 45 minutes.

I am not sure I would do the Auntie Roz thing again but if you have never done it, I say try it! It starts out slow but gets better and better and truly ends with a bang!

Have fun!

Oh and there were no seats in the viewing area that I remember. Everyone had to stand. Even the kiddos. I think mine ended up sitting on a curb... :)

I can't imagine keeping 6 children standing for that long. All our children are 3-7 years old. Is there room for everyone to sit on the ground? What is I bought one of those small disposible blanket things - is there room to put it on the ground?

I am pretty sure I remember there is space on the ground near the fence by the lake. People are walking around and mingling but they should be fine if they are off to the side and sitting on the ground. It is too bad that there are no chairs though...at least they wern't thee in 2008. You will still enjoy it though!
