Grand Gathering ??

I am planning a grand gathering for this coming July. When I called to get my grand gathering number, the cm said that I had to give her the names of everyone in the group and that I could make no changes once I had made my request. Some of our party may only be there part of the time or have to drop out, but we would still have at least 15 people. So I guess I don't understand what the problem is if I have to drop peoples names or if there are people in our group who don't choose to do an event as long as we have 8 to sign up. I would only sign up people who are definite for the events. Any one have experience in taking people off or adding to your grand gathering group(just the overall group , not an event group) at the last minute?

I got a grand gathering number for a family reunion I just did earlier this month with 12 of us. I don't remember having to give ANY names when I signed up.

Actually, I ended up not really using the number for anything in the end other than ADRs (I think it gave us a better chance of having 12 seats together.) We didn't do any of the special grand gathering events once I looked into them.

I had to give the names of everybody in my GG. I do not have any experience in dropping or adding people. Ask if everybody in your GG needs to be at every GG experience that you book. I am not sure that they do.

We're having a GG in June, and I was able to change our DVC accomodations from BWV to VWL and we kept the same number. I have added a name to the original group but we have not booked anything yet, other than the rooms. For our '04 GG, we booked the International Dinner, and we did have an addition in the last month. Our DS was in Venezuela and he found out late that he would be able to come to Florida for the event.
