Grand gathering help, Please!

Im really confused on the Grand Gatherings, i hope someone can help. I will be staying 1st at POR, then BCV. The other party will be staying at POR the whole time. She has Ressies through a travel agent, and of course i have them through MS. We decided since we have 9 people, we would like to do some grand gathering events. Neither of us have a grand gathering number, can we still get one? Whats my next step?

We had a Grand Gathering last January. All you have to do is call MS and give them both reservation #'s and they will give you a GG #. We did the private pirate fireworks cruise and had a blast!

I don't think it will be quite that easy. It gets complicated when a portion of the group uses a Travel Agent because the TA owns the reservation and they are the only ones that can change a reservation. Getting a GG# is considered a change to the reservation. I ran into this issue last year. What you probably need to do is to get a GG# from your friend's TA and then call MS to have them add you to this GG#. Now your friends are probably going to have a problem getting a GG# because they don't have 8 people. This is also a problem we had last year and shows you how pathetically disorganized this whole process is. After many phone calls, we finally convinced the GG office to give my TA a GG# even though we were only 5 people. They told us that if there weren't 8 or more people associated with the GG# within 24 hours they would delete it from the system. The other 3 families then had to call that day to be added to the GG#. Like I said, this was about 14 months ago. I hope they got their act together somewhat by now, but I doubt it ....

I think the fireworks cruise boat can hold about 25 people. There can be other people on the boat with depending on your party size.

The boats are actually bigger than that - more like 40 or 50 people. There were at least 4 other groups with us and we had 14 people.

Their travel agent got a GG #. I called MS to add it to my reservation at BCV. They said they cant add it, the travel agent needs to add it to the GG # she got. But the travel agent says she cant MS needs to do it!
Anybody know who is right? My friends travel agent or MS?

I don't think their TA can do it because they have no control over your reservation. I would call MS back and ask them why they can't just add the GG# to your ressie. Sounds like things haven't improved much in 14 months ....

Double checked with the travel agent, no they can not do it! So ill try MS on monday again, wish me luck!
