We are staying at The Grand Floridian in August. We booked a garden view room. Has anyone stayed in the "dormer rooms?" (The top floor with a balcony) Is the size much smaller? Or should we just stay in a standard room. We are 2 adults and a 5 year old. :smooth: :earsboy: :earsgirl: :earsboy:

Prncess674, what kind of view did you ask for to get room 7428? We're going to the GF next year for our 30th anniversary and I would love to get a room with a beautiful view like that one.

Hi there! You'll get more responses if this were posted on the Resorts Board, so I'm transferring it over there. Please check the Resorts Board for further replies. Thanks! :)

Hi -
We stayed at the GF last October and we were in a dormer room. I've never seen any other room, but this room was plenty big enough for DH, DD (3 1/2 yrs) and me. We were on the 5th floor of Conch Key and had a lovely view of the main pool from our small balcony. It was a very nice room!

Thanks for the advice. Was that a nice building to stay in? I didn't request a building, just a non-smoking dormer room. Anyone have any suggestions for buildings?

Conch Key?

We stayed there in a corner dormer room. (Sorry, I don't remember the number...) We had two little balconies, one on each side, and a fabulous view of the MK (you might request a MK view, if you haven't already.)

The great thing about Conch Key is that it's only about a five minute walk to the main building/monorail/bus stop ... but at the end of the day, it's a quick 30 second jaunt from the boat dock! Believe me, at the end of a long day, that's a blessing. (You should take the monorail to the MK in the morning, but take the boat to the GF for your return. Saves a lot of time!)

Conch is also a little removed from the hubub of the pool and the main building, so you really feel like you're in a quiet, peaceful corner of The World.

Enjoy!
