Grand Floridian: restaurant/dining solo questions

I'm trying to make a rough plan now for my Sept vacation.
Is 1900 Park Fare only a Character Event?
How strange would it be for an adult to go there solo?
Besides the big 3 (Citricos, Narcoosee's and V&A's, not looking at those right now (the Chef's Table at V&A is on my 50thbday to do list!)), does any one have any advice? I might be on DDP.

This is part of my mission to check out the various resorts to decide where I'd like to stay on future trips, so a little exploring of the resort plus a meal..I'd like to have relatively early (relatively as in, after 1pm and before 8pm!) meal.

As far as dining solo at a character meal, it's no problem. I used to think it would be kinda wierd, so I skipped character meals on my first 8 trips. Finally I took a deep breath and tried it one morning. It really made the time go by watching the characters interacting with the children. Such fun! And as far as anyone looking at the person eating by themselves-sorry, but no one's noticing you unless you're Mickey, Goofy, or whatever character they expect to see. And the characters seem to be so in tune to your level of comfort with them. Minnie seemed to know I just wanted to sit back and watch, so she kindly just blew me a kiss as she went by after the first time.

Yes, 1900 PF has characters. But, I don't see any reason why it would be weird for someone to eat there by themselves. Sometimes it takes the characters forever to get to your area, and if they do, you can just wave and say hi and keep eating and they'll get the hint to move on. Or do what I do when there's a character I don't want to meet...keep track of where they are and once they get to the table next to you, head up to get more food!
