Gramma jinxed disney on spring break! PARTING THOUGHTS 06/15/09

Today I made a special trip to the dollar store to get ponchos, and they were all out. Really wierd. It almost never rains here (although) it did today. It's a small town and they had about 50 of them out on display last week. :confused3 I have another place I can check if they don't get them back in. I also wanted a pop up hamper, but didn't find one. I bought a bright green drawstring bag that says, "Dirty Laundry" on it in big white letters - guess I'll hang it in the closet. So we'll be airing our dirty laundry this trip.:rotfl2: Sorry. Couldn't resist.

I know! It's funny how you keep picking up things because they're "only $1" and pretty soon there's lots of 'em!:rotfl2: I hope I get the view!

Okay, on with our trivia game! Remember, you can't win if you don't play! :teacher: I thought that I would do these questions in sections, following our plans. So the first questions were resort/DTD questions, because we check in to SSR at DTD on Sunday the 22nd. Monday the 23rd is an Epcot day, so I'll do some Epcot questions next.

**In what year was the plan for the Epcot theme park formally announced to the public? (Lucky for them it was pre-DIS days;) )
a) 1971
b) 1975
c) 1977
d) 1979

I'll be back with your answer - remember, there's a prize for the winner!:)

ill go with C just cuz its the BEST year ever (I was born then LOL)

Hi Tammie - finally made it over here! :wave2: And I'm ready to play some games!

Just to let you know - I didn't call SSR and request my Congress Park/DTD view until the day before we arrived. We got it (but as you know, we did have to wait!;) ) Our room was down at the furthest end of Congress Park, directly across from Cirque de Soleil. But it still was such a quick walk to DTD. And I was a little worried about the busses - I had heard that they could be very crowded by the time they stopped at Congress Park, but we didn't have a problem at all - always got a seat, even at the busy early morning times!:thumbsup2

And - I think I have the same Baggallini as you, only in black. Lauren has a slightly bigger one in red - love them! And love the crocs!

Oh! You make me feel so old! That's the year I graduated! But I feel a lot younger most of the time!:thumbsup2

Welcome Cammie! I'm glad you're here! sounds like you had a great room, once you got into it!:) I'm glad you like your bag - it looks like I'll like all the compartments - I won't need a wallet or anything - that was the plan.

Do you have a guess on the Epcot question?

i'm gonna guess D.

I'll be back with the answer, and a new question!

i've been lurking for a while but I'm here too :)

Welcome Laura! Thanks for checking in - are you playing the game, too?

ahh trivia i rock at trivia, and i caught you before the trip started, i knew alot of the earlier answers but drat i was to late, so just put me down for plus 2 in your tallies, and now hte answer for your question is answer

D 1979

i also know a bonus about it that i just read in my EPcot imagenering book, that it was the largest project in the country at its time.
:goodvibes

Do you have a guess on the Epcot question?

Ok, I'm going with "D".

(but I really should be disqualified from this question because I had already read Dawn and Dan's answers - and I'm thinking they're really good at Disney trivia! )

ill take her point.
:rotfl:

Oh man, I LOVE games!! I can't believe I missed so many!! Ummm...I'm gonna guess...D. Or maybe c. Or was it when Walt showed it on tv? No- that was in the 60's- alright- D!

And the answer is.... Oh crap! I forgot to look up the answer - I'll be back!:rotfl2:

Okay, drum roll please...... The answer is B. 1975. It was laid out as "Epcot Center" and was to be educational, along with an internal neighborhood where nations from around the world could showcase themselves in an environment of peace and understanding...Kum-Ba-Yah!:hippie: Really, that would be nice, wouldn't it?

So, I don't think anyone scored on that question. I'll be back tomorrow with a tally of scores (I know I said you could keep track, but it will give me something to do!) And a new question!

Dan! so glad you could join us! I am lovin' your TR - thanks for joining mine, and good luck with the Trivia. There are some Epcot lovers in this group, so this section should be interesting!:thumbsup2

3 weeks from tonight I'll be finishing my packing, and heading out in the morning for Portland!:cool1:

And Arbonne ROCKS!!!!!:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 I love their stuff!!

Same with me about the Ponchos. Try the camping section of Target & Walmart. They were $1.09 at Target - color choice of red, blue or green. .88 at Walmart - but they were clear and ALWAYS sold out. Our dollar store here had NOTHING you guys sent me for! :lmao:

The pop up hamper I got was walmart too - $3.

I missed the trivia :sad1: but I would have guessed D, so I was wrong anyway.
