Adventures by Disney tour group:

March09BBallZooWDW300.jpg

We headed in to the gift shop to do some more shopping. I found a shirt for DGS 2, and a Mickey and Minnie T for myself. Jim found a T-shirt, too!

March09BBallZooWDW299.jpg

So with almost an hour until our ADR time, Jim decided to play some games in the arcade, and I headed up to the lounge and got a nice glass of wine, which I took out to the front deck off the lobby. I had a wonderful relaxing time sitting in the big rocking chair sipping my wine. I met a really interesting older gentleman who was there for a yearly vacation with his children and grandchildren. I saw Firerock Geyser "erupt at any time" (at least the top of it behind the rocks).

Soon it was time to check in for the chaos that is WCC:

While chatting with the hostess, I casually mentioned to Jim that you had to yell alot and twirl your napkin in here - he said, "NOT ME!" The hostess made a note of it. We were seated out on a overflow area off the lobby - quiet area away from the excitement. I kept sneaking in to the restaurant to get pics of what was going on

We got the skillet for two - this was easily our favorite dinner from the whole trip! We loved the location, the wine was wonderful, the dessert was to die for, or server was very attentive without being intrusive:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Another family with 2 kids was seated at the table next to us. They didn't have ADRs, and didn't know what to expect, just had heard good things. We got to know them and really enjoyed our visit. The wife kept getting up and taking her kids in to enjoy the games. I felt bad that they weren't involved when they wanted to be. Even asking for ketchup got no response. I told them about the ketchup thing, so as we were leaving, the mom was standing near the back waiting for someone to need ketchup so they could bring theirs up. Well, I pointed to a table up front where this was going on, and she ran up with a big smile to take part in the ketchup ritual! :)

Next: Sunset Cruise

We ate at the Wilderness Lodge in 1995. I have not been back there since. We would love to stay there one day. It is so pretty there. Maybe we can at least eat there again one day.

It sounds like you did some serious shopping! Sounds like fun.

that is too bad that the they put that family in the back room, when we were on our 1 year anniversary, we ate back there and it was nice and quite like you said, we did not mind we were not involved in the activities nice and quite on the anniversary, but next time we go with parker next summer, we will demand a main room table or they can not seat us.:rolleyes1

so glad you went shopping in the MK and found the puzzle, it looks great, still have not had time to put it together, we are too busy getting the outside landscapping done and getting things ready to go camping this summer

but as soon as i put it together i will post it.

oh yeah and the can erupt at any time, is usually every 30 minutes when it goes off.

THAT would be an interesting new thread! :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2: I'll have to take some to contribute when I'm there in 2 WEEKS!!!:yay:

I'm sure you'll have plenty.... look who you're traveling with! :rotfl2:

Tammie - why can't I see a bunch of ur pics? Oh, and I SWEAR that same "Santa" was in Magic Kingdom last weekend!!!!

I don't know - I can see 'em - that happens to me every once in awhile on here:confused3

I am loving your TR. You make Disney sound so relaxing by going to a park and leaving mid-day for lunch or at dinner. I guess with no kiddos you it is eaier to "stop and smell the roses". One day I would love to spend an hour or two just on Main Street;)

Oh, you'll have to eat there! It will definately be on our list from now on!
It's funny - the shopping frenzy was to try to beat the parade, and I really enjoyed the parade after all - plus it was short!:thumbsup2

Parker will love the napkin waving, I'm sure!
We are all waiting to see your puzzle!
I will try to be more patient or watchful next time.:3dglasses

Thanks for reading! It can be relaxing if you just realize you will never do everything, and you are on vacation! Also, if you are hot and tired, it's no fun!

The pictures of Wilderness Lodge were wonderful. It is good to know there is corner that you can sit and watch the fun at WCC, my husband would prefer no napkin twirling.

Hello, and thanks! I think the CMs can read your personality pretty well - or you can tell them you'd like low excitement!

when i first saw 4/5 as your update date i was confused! i thought i know she's updated since april 5th!!!!

I have to say that this resort hasn't been on top of my list, because it's so much like home. I mean we don't live in a log cabin, and it's not Yellowstone, but most of our quick getaways involve pine trees and mountains and lakes and cabins - I always want to try something more unusual.

Funny how you can surprise yourself. First, this resort is so beautiful and packed with fun. Second, it was so relaxing because it felt like home!:thumbsup2 I have to say that I am amazed at Disney's knack for staging a scene. I was sitting on one of the side porches off the VWL area - I felt like I could have just been out at the lake here!

i felt this same away about WL. i never really had much interest in staying there until i SAW it with my own two eyes and fell in love with it. we're planning on staying at VWL in december 2010! :thumbsup2

OOPS! Dislexic again!:rotfl2:

Congrats on your plans to stay there next year!

ok must be that time for me cuz i read about the old dude falling and teared up LOL

When we went to Pecos last yr we did the DIY kiosk ordering and I think we ended up jipping ourself since we were on the DDP. Next time we will use the people. LOL

*note to self ask for the Main room at WC so we can enjoy the FUN*

I felt so bad - how could his family just leave him - but maybe he was being stubborn or something.

At WCC, I think if you make ADRS and you have children, they will be sure to seat you in the main room - there are only about 5 tables in the quiet area, and they didn't use all of them.

Finally I could see all your pics! Great updates (I was waaaaay behind!). I love WL, and after just getting back from AKL, Jeff and I said that WL is much more "impressive" when you first walk in, than AKL. Just something about it....

I don't know how I missed three installments! :confused3

We had a flat tire too.....after the cruise! :headache: It was terrible. We just wanted to go home at that point, you know. We had to wait for AAA, getting them in through security was a nightmare...there was supposed to be a guy on a golf cart to escort AAA into the parking lot for us...he ended up waiting at the gate for 1/2 hour. We got to watch everyone arriving at the terminal to depart on the next cruise...and some of the quick clean up onboard (from below, of course). If I ever get to the end of my TR I'll have more on that...lol (Yeah I can laugh about it now. Not Ron , though! ;))

What's up with the jinx on the rides..? That was crazy. When we rode Pirates last we were on with a horribly annoying family that had about 100 ballons obscuring the view, talked LOUDLY in spanish the whole ride and flash photgraphy non-stop! The people in the seat in front of us asked the CM at debark area if they could stay on and ride again. He said no and they got really upset. I wonder if they knew that if they stayed on the boat and rode back around to the embark dock that they would have been decapitated...LOL! :rotfl:

WL is on our short list of resorts we have to stay at someday. The long list is...well...pretty much all of 'em....! :rotfl:

After reading your TR, I really want to stay at WL sometime!

We got trapped by parades a few times on our last trip and I, like you, was actually happy to be trapped so I could enjoy the parades!

Love all your pics of the WL- looking forward to staying there myself, one day!! WC is a TON of fun, my kids loved it so much I recommended it to my BIL & SIL on their first trip with the kids this April- it was their most favorite meal of the whole trip!! Kids and adults!:thumbsup2

I feel so BAD for that poor man who fell in PB's!! I hope he was ok, poor guy!

Thanks! I know - it's just so perfect! I think AKL is just as "grand" but you are distracted by the huge picture window looking out at the Savannah!

Oh, I'm sorry about your flat tire ending to your cruise.:sad2: Nice how attentive the guard was now that your cruise was over.

I can't believe how some people act on the rides - like everyone wants to enjoy "their party!"

I want to stay at more resorts, too - I always book SSR at 11 mo, and then when I get to 7 mo, what I want isn't open. I should just see what is and go with it!

After reading your TR, I really want to stay at WL sometime!

We got trapped by parades a few times on our last trip and I, like you, was actually happy to be trapped so I could enjoy the parades!

I'm glad you liked my review of WL. I know - I really like the parades, but I defer to Jim because it's easier to just go with his plan than listen to him complain

Thanks! I thought WC would be way too wild for us, but I wish we would have tried it sooner!

I hope so too. I couldn't really see how he was without running over to "stare."

Thanks everyone who's still reading! I've been a little distracted, but we'll get through this TR, I promise:goodvibes

With our tummies full, and the sun about to set, we left our "homeland" and headed for the boat back to MK.

March09BBallZooWDW305.jpg

We had to maneuver around the ferry as we approached, so I snapped a couple of pics - almost like being on the Disney Magic and pulling up next to the Wonder!

March09BBallZooWDW306.jpg

March09BBallZooWDW307.jpg

Back at MK, we wanted to do a few rides in the dark, and buy the "spinny roundy thing" that our oldest DGS requested. Somehow we ended up in Tomorrowland and decided to check out Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor. This was really cute, and the audience participation is so fun! The guy who was "that guy" in the audience really played it up!

I had never ridden JC at night, so I wanted to see what it was like - we had FP saved from the afternoon. It was really fun and our skipper was pretty entertaining. Once again, just as we were about to set sail for our "3 hour tour" we had to wait, and wait :rolleyes1 It was probably about 5 minutes - they were waiting for another boat to come back - not sure why, probably because the King and Queen of Jinx were on board. (Good thing we weren't on the USS Minnow:thumbsup2) I like JC better at MK than DL - just interesting to go in the temple - no temple at DL. There was a 2 yr old little girl across from us, crying and trying to get from her mommy's lap to her gramma's lap, and the mom wouldn't let her go - bad mommy (in my opinion :rotfl2:).

We headed over to Splash, which I have decided we will always ride last from now on - that way when we are wet, we won't be cold or wet for long. We got in, started forward, and yup! We had to wait for a little while before taking off. We were in the 2nd seat - a little nervous about the water. There was a dad with a little 4 yr old girl in front of us. I was so worried she would fall out, the dad seemed so casual about the ride, and he had never ridden, but he did hang on to her at the drop. She was very brave, and squealed like crazy every time she thought we were dropping, and loved the big drop!!! They got entirely soaked, as we predicted, and the couple behind us did - we were just a little wet on our legs.

We headed for main street for the light up, "spinny roundy things." The castle looked so beautiful

March09BBallZooWDW308.jpg

We found a Stitch spinner and a Nemo toy for the boys, and a really cute Minnie with a spinning light up dress for DGD on the street carts, and checked out of our locker. The nemo broke in the suitcase on the way home, and the Minnie lasted about a day before someone bent the lights and broke the wires - not happy - $15 a piece!

We made our way out to the ferry, and headed across. The lights were so beautiful from the MK and the resorts around the lake. Just as we stepped off, we heard Wishes start - they had the music piped in to TTC! So we stopped and watched from there - the CMs were fine with it!:lovestruc

I love how Disney finds a way to bring the magic, no matter what you're doing. The CMs were waving with Mickey hands as we walked out of the turnstyles. It was really chilly on the parking lot tram, and I was happy to be getting back to our car with the heater!

We made it back to our resort, happy and exhausted - I couldn't resist wrapping up in a blanket and taking in the view from our balcony again.

luke rode this in may 2008 and he turned 4 the next month and he loved it, too!
