gradtchr's back on track (comments welcome)

It's a new year and a new me. I did start back on eating healthy yesterday and even excercise! The past couple of weeks have been tough but it looks like I only gained 1.5 lbs and I am ok with that.

Yesterday we had a salad for lunch
Tamales and some cheese w/ crackers for dinner
3 glasses of champagne at midnight hmmm I guess that was this morning.

Workout wise we rearranged our front room and since I had the vision of what I wanted I moved most of the furniture. Dennis had to come move the tv but I got the couch (three different places), lazy boy, and all the sidetables, chest, etc..... I love the way it turned out and I definitely got the heart rate up!

Today we have guests coming over for lunch and have a somewhat healthy menu planned.

Appetizer: Spinach and Artichoke dip with either crackers or ch ips
Lite Caesar Salad
Ham
Potatoes w/ ff cream cheese, sour cream, and chives
black eyed peas
yeast rolls
and for dessert a red raspberry pie.

Dinner tonight will probably be nothing. We are hoping to go for a walk/jog this afternoon but it's really overcase right now and at times it looks like it is threatening rain.
 
Congrats on making it through the holidays with such a low gain! And it sounds like you are right back on track already.

New Year New Me!

Walk: Note to self do not walk in two inch heel boots that are not broken in right OUCH)
s-cottage cheese and pineapple
50 minutes at the gym tonight. I got my 3 mile run in-took longer than it was three weeks ago but I'm improving in other ways such as able to run for longer periods of time.
d-1/2 of 1/2 chicken breast, whole wheat spaghetti, and spinach artichoke dip
s-small piece of raspberry pie

Life is good. Today was our first day back at work and my head is still spinning. I want another week off. :rotfl2: It was great to get back to the gym though I didn't realize how much I had missed it for the past two weeks. My lifestyle has definitely changed. I have a new goal as well. My hubby and I want to get our house cleaned up and out and get rid of some of the clutter we have from the combining of two households and somebody referred me to a website by flylady and so after looking into it DH and I decided today that we are not only going to spend 2006 getting our health and weight under control but we are gonig to get our house under control as well. YEAH!!!!
 
You have some great goals this year! Isn't it nice to be in the state of mind where you actually MISS working out? Way to go, it takes a lot of dedication to get to that point!

I had a blast at work today. I woke up with no voice and went to work anyway because it's really quiet there for now. Well my phone never rings until today when it rang 10 times by 10 AM. Two calls got answered 8 calls got e-mail responses after they left a message. I felt ok except for having no voice which is the worst thing that could happen to a girl ya know. :)

Eating wise I was pretty much on track not all the way but I'm ok with it and loved every little bite....

l-ham wrap w/ low carb tortilla and lettuce/tomatos and 15 baby carrots

d-here's where i wasn't totally on plan. We went to Olive Garden w/ family and I got the salad and their new stuffed shells w/ shrimp YUM YUM YUM! I only ate half of the shells and the rest will be lunch. I am now a little bit overly full but it's ok.

No workout our gym closes early for the next two weeks.
 
hope your voice is back!! it drives me crazy when my voice is gone! how annoying!

yum-i love olive garden! You seem to be doing great and its nice to miss exercising , isnt it? have a great day!!!!
 
I saw an Olive Garden commercial for those stuffed shells last night and I told DH that they looked SO yummy! At least you only ate half of them, good job!
 
Those shells were sooooooooooo yummy and they were equally good on day 2. :)

B-none slept through it and was home sick

No workout :( I finally feel better today but was on NyQuil all day yesterday which was nice because I got to sleep but I hate being sick.

No workout planned for today either-tomorrow though watch out world!
 
I am hoping you are feeling better--im glad your taking the day off though to rest instead of hurting yourself more! Those stuffed shells sound good --i want olive garden now! haha

I may not be able to check journals til i get back from the trip next saturday, but have a great week!

It's been a couple of days since I've updated and I can't remember what I've done-not much-but I'm sure there's something.

Oh yeah I cleaned house! I spent 9 hours on Saturday cleaning and got my home in shape where I wouldn't mind having people over. Thank you flylady.net! It was one huge workout and I am extremely sore today but very proud of what I accomplished which is what really matters!

Today was my free day and we went to El Fenix for our mexican food craving and I had a salad for dinner. DH and I also went to Sam's and got stocked up on a few weeks worth of BFL treats and veggies that we need. YUM!

TOmorrow DH and I start our own type of Biggest Loser Challenge. We're not going to have a winner/loser because we're both going to be winners and our prize is going to be a weekend away. I can't wait!!!!!!!
 
I weighed in this morning and was not happy I was up from last week. 154-that's ok though I will be going down soon. My accountability starts today. DH and I are doing a challenge for ourselves and part of it is that I burn 3500 calories a week at the gym. I am terrified that I won't reach that goal but I have to try!!!

Today's Plan (Which I will update if I don't complete it tonight)
Back Smart Plans's Daily Dozen (stretches which feel really good in the morning at least I thought they did this morning since this is day 1)
B-2 Kashi waffles and 1 tbsp pb
s-balance bar
l-chicken caesar salad
30 min walk (this didn't happen today I had a meeting GRRR)
s-apple and string cheese
gym 3 mile run on treadmill and lower body weights (weights became a one mile walk)
30 minutes of Playstation Kinetic was added on.
d-buffalo chicken w/ veggies and a tad bit of cheddar cheese
s-very berry parfait
cool down pilates stretches and relaxation stretches to end the day.

You are doing great getting back on the BFL band wagon. What kind of Balance Bars do you like? My favorite is Chocolate Peanut Butter, although I just ate a Chocolate Mint Cookie one that was pretty darn good!

Keep it up, way to jump back into exercising after being :sick: !!
 
loveinaz-you're right we both better be losers on this one! We had the caramel nut blast. It's the first balance bar I have ever had and only tried them because you said they were good. :) We got them at Sams so the variety wasn't really there but we will be looking at the stores now. :)

30 minutes of deep stretching (actually was 20 but we did everything)

roast beef w/ triscuits and mandarin oranges
PLAN: Dinner I don't know yet I'm going out with my best friend and don't know where we are going.
snack depends on dinner but on the menu it says crepes
biggest loser dvd for at least 30 minutes.
What really happened:
Friend postponed dinner until tomorrow night. No problem. I came home got my gym clothes and went back to the gym where I ran 3 miles and improved my time from yesterday by one minute. YEAH!!! Then I walked for a mile did some time on the elliptical and came home where I had last nights leftovers. Homemade buffalo chicken, carrots, celery w/ buffalo dip. YUM!

So today my major accomplishment was going to the gym when I got home I thought that it would be so nice to just relax but I got changed, got my gear, and did it! Yeah me!!
 
Congrats on the workouts & eating! You're doing great. Don't ya just love Flylady? I used to subscribe to her board. She always motivated me to get up & get the house cleaned quickly!
