gradtchr's back on track (comments welcome)

Beth, I'm sorry to hear that your father in law is in the hospital. I'll be praying for your family. It must be very tough on you and your husband.

I thought your story about the guy at the gym was very motivating. Its too bad that there are people who can't keep their mouths shut. It would be awful if that man quit the gym because of their rude comments. I'm so glad that you stuck up for him & gave him support when he needed it the most. When I used to workout at the Y there was a personal trainer there who used to weigh over 350lbs. He got in great shape & became a personal trainer. Everyone loved working with him since he knew what he was talking about.

I am sorry to hear about your fil - I will definitely keep your fil and your family in my prayers - please keep us updated.

That story from the gym is just - WOW!!!!!! How ironic that you were going through the same thoughts and then had this guy with the same inspirations seeking goals that he probably never thought he would seek - AWESOME!!!!!

Keep on
Chris

Hi Beth-

I hope your FIL is doing better. Sending lots of positive thoughts your way. Take care of yourself.

Hi beth-
good for you for sticking up for that man--i cant believe how rude some people are!
you are doing great and i like the idea of just pushing yourself a bit more-you can do it :)

I need to get back to my journal. My life has been beyond busy for the past week or so and will continue to be for the next week or so. The semester will end soon and life will calm down.

Eating wise I'm doing good. We have several christmas parties this week so hubby and I have been doing the slimfast diet so we wouldn't blow everything. I plan on eating healthy but I know there will be the homemade desserts that scream for samples. We'll see though. I am making a huge salad for hubby and I. Yum!

Excercise-I hurt right now. Hubby and I bought a PS2 this weekend so we could get Kinetic. It rocks! I have muscles that I have never felt before and am loving the way it feels. I've done two days of workouts I'll keep everyone updated on how it goes. As of right now I'd defintely recommend it. We'll see in three to four weeks what I say. :)

Hope everyones doing great! I've been reading journals and keeping the motivation up but haven't had time to post.

How is your FIL doing? I hope things are going well.

Kudos to you for sticking up for the man in the gym! I am surprised the rude people didn't stop once you said something.

What is Kinetic? I am assuming it is a dance game like the other one you like so much?

Keep up all your hard work! :cheer2:

Thanks for asking about my FIL He is home all the issues were related to his diabetes so he is under even closer observation but is home and seems to be ok.

Kinetic is a PS2 game that has a computer animated fitness trainer where you can either choose your own workout or go through the 12 week workout program. It is awesome! I am certainly using muscles I hadn't before. It also uses a camera so you get to be on tv with the trainer and when you are doing some of the workouts you are trying to avoid moving orb type things and the technology can somehow register if you touch one or something like that. It's beyond me on how exactly it works but I'm feelin ggreat about it!

Glad to hear that your FIL is doing better. That is great!!!!

That PS2 game sounds very interesting. I may have to try something like that. Can you buy it anywhere PS2 is sold?

You are doing a great job. Keep up the good work and I hope you are having a wonderful evening!

Eeyore25-you should be able to. The best price we found on itwas at Target. :)

I had a huge NSV today. I ran/walked 3 miles in 35 minutes. Huge improvement from April when running for 2 minutes was to much. YEAH!!!!!!!!!
I'm still trying to figure out how not to get blisters on my arches. I've tried the blister proof socks but so far no luck-I guess the feet will toughen up soon.

Good Morning,

Thanks for info. I am going to check out Target this weekend. Actually I am playing sick again Friday, I may pop into Target then!!!!

Hope you have a wonderful Monday!

Keep up the great work!

Hmm, I have never heard of anyone getting blisters on their arches! :confused3 I usually only get them on the heels and they make little pads to attach to the backs of your shoes. Maybe they make something like that for the arches? I've heard moleskin is supposed to work wonders too, maybe you could put some of that on the bottom of your feet? Check out the foot care section at the store, I'm sure they have some sort of funky invention out there for you! :goodvibes

Great job improving your run time. Keep it up! :cheer2:

Great ideas loveinaz-I'm going to check. I have super flat feet and apparently when running I turned my feet in quite a bit well I have shoes that stop that now and that have arch support in them so I think my feet are just toughening up-not fun right now though but it will get better. :)

I had a huge NSV for me tonight. Sunday I ran 3 miles in 35 min 20 sec tonight I ran 3 miles in 34 min 45 sec!! I'm getting better!!!!!!!!!!!

This week can end at any point. I'm tired of work and I want to honest to goodness relax for a day and get caught up on everything here. The end of the semester is always tough but it's a great job so it works out but the past two weeks have been a nightmare!! I'll be catching up on Friday. :)

Hi there,
