I don't want to be stuck eating at a crappy CS restaurant. We don't get around much (mobility issues) and there are very few rides that Fran can go on, mostly the shows like Mickey's Philharmagic, Laugh Floor, American Adventure and slow moving rides like Ellen. Dining ends up being one of our "attractions" and we usually try to pick "destination" restaurants. I don't always make reservations for every night, especially during something like F&W becuase we will be eating from the kiosks and don't need all the sit down meals, but other times it gives me something to look foward to.

I plan my meals at home (when I am on top of things), I like to plan my meals on vacation. I can always change my plans, but I like to have a plan.

Oh, I understand. Each to their own I suppose when it comes to dining. Maybe it's just cause it's my first time back in years and I just want to make sure I get in all the attractions. I'm sure if I went more often, I'd make more of an effort with dining options.
Always have some sort of a plan. That's my motto

Ok so today's trek was to Figure Eight Pools in the Royal National Park south of Sydney.
It is Australia's first National Park...

I could make this a mini TR but given photobucket is running slow I'll start with the destination. Then I'll go back and show you the "path" to this location as photobucket sees fit :lmao:
Which has NO signposts...and no sign when you get there. You just 'figure it out'

THIS is where the name comes from

And ya know what I instantly thought.....

YELLOWSTONE!!
It's not volcanic. It's not the same atmosphere. But peering in these pools, which are remarkably deep for some, the reflections and clarity and colours reminded me of Yellowstone...

One of my fellow trekers said these are freshwater. But they simply can't be.
To GET here you must travel at low tide. So even if there is a freshwater feed into these pools (which one I think does) they are filled with saltwater as the waves crash over...

As see here...in these shots where it moves from still water to ripples...

But over here

One look back to whence we came (which we got to via a 280m descent through scrub from the carpark)

And another look forward...

P5191213.jpg

A look up to the cliffs (and the brief "flat" path :lmao: )

Next step....around that corner...

P5191223.jpg

And another look up to the cliffs...

And continuing on...the path ahead...

Great path huh!!
:lmao:
But it was a lovely view enroute and FAR better than the trek back up through the mud and huge steps...

ANYONE coming to DLR PLEASE let us come with you on a VIP tour!!!!! We need to use them up. I Will find out if Fran needs to be present or not, hopefully not and we all can have a fun tour. It is limited to 10 or 9.

Ooh maybe we can squeeze one in next May, I'll just ditch some of my family.:rotfl:

Well, guys due to circumstances beyond our control we will not be going to vegas. Such is life.

A few glitches, but cant cry over something. Somethings arent meant to be and thats ok. I guess we save alot of money staying home. Okay maybe not a lot of money but some.
No word still from Matt. Thats troublesome.

 That's so disappointing, are you missing Monterey too?

I'm on hold with ticketing trying to find out if I buy an AP today can I activate it next early next May.

According to the CM you have to activate the AP voucher before the end of this calendar year. No good for me.

I agree it's getting too high for me. I doubt I'll get an AP anymore.

With the increase of the ticket prices, I might still get an AP in the future. We're all hoping that the DLR won't do another huge price increase next year.

I remember when I got the premier AP back in 2010 which was around $700 with tax. I thought that was a lot of money just to go to WDW & DLR. But after the changes to the prices and now a premium cost almost the same as the premier back in 2010, now I don't regret getting the premier. Sad that I am not going to WDW this year or next year.

I wish DVC would give us some good discounts on tickets or APs or it might not be worth hanging on to our points if our family can't afford the tickets. We usually have 6 - 12 traveling with us.
