I think I got some decent ones. Not sure what the artist got. He didn't actually get the camera out to much. Of course the hike meant it was tucked safely much of the way...
The goal destination was great...but the hike was far far more intense than I realised as it involved a change in elevation of about 300metres

Ok so today's trek was to Figure Eight Pools in the Royal National Park south of Sydney.
It is Australia's first National Park...

I could make this a mini TR but given photobucket is running slow I'll start with the destination. Then I'll go back and show you the "path" to this location as photobucket sees fit
Which has NO signposts...and no sign when you get there. You just 'figure it out'


THIS is where the name comes from

And ya know what I instantly thought.....


YELLOWSTONE!!
It's not volcanic. It's not the same atmosphere. But peering in these pools, which are remarkably deep for some, the reflections and clarity and colours reminded me of Yellowstone...


One of my fellow trekers said these are freshwater. But they simply can't be.
To GET here you must travel at low tide. So even if there is a freshwater feed into these pools (which one I think does) they are filled with saltwater as the waves crash over...
