Does anyone know about the Lorance ifinder handheld GPS?

Can this be used in a car?

The unit may or may not work with the antenna inside the car. Also if it is loaded with the continental US maps ,it will only be general info,NOT detailed info on locate or maps. The unit will also require you to read it on the road ( which is NOT safe to do when driving) Car units are made for use in the car and they have Speaking software for easy user info. i have the Garmin Quest unit ,which is for the car and can be used handheld for outdoor sports also. I find it very useful and is not very expensive ($350.00) . It is also quick and easy to use.

I don't know about this brand but we have a Gramen (Legend, I think) and it has proved to be very useful as we havae found ourselves lost and broken don many times and without it we'd be in a mess of trouble. We can get directions, maps, and a bunch of other information off of it.
