Gov't rate at Swan/Dolphin?

What types of government employees qualify for this rate? Is it US Government only? State Government Employee? City Government? Just wondering how broad the qualifications are for this discount...

Any type of government employee would qualify for the discounted rate. You just need to show proof of employment at check-in. Your ID badge, a pay stub, or a letter from your supervisor on official letterhead would all de acceptable.

Let me further complicate my question a little ... My husband works for our city's Utility Company and they are considered city government employees here. Would his ID and/or paystub be sufficient for the discount? or would he have to have further proof that the Utility Division is indeed a city government entity?

Okay you guys...help me out here...I'm referring a friend to the Swan and he qualifies for the Gov't rate. He called today, but was told there was no such thing. I think he called the Swan directly.

What number should I have him call?

(after staying at both the Swan and Dolphin, you think I'd know this by now...but I've forgotten!)

I called today (the Swan's 1-800 number) and made reservations for December under the Gov't/Military rate. The reservationist knew what discount I was asking about. She even gave me a lake view for the price of a standard room ($129 plus tax).

Blondie - when I called to inquire I used 1-800-337-1500, told the woman DH was a gov employee & she quoted us the $129 rate
