Can anyone tell me who classifies as a Government worker? Is it someone who works for the local council (State/County), emergency services etc? Also does it include UK workers?
Thanks for any replies.

If you are talking about discounts at Swan/Dolphin for government workers, they are pretty broad on the definition to include essentially anyone employed by a government entity (although I am not sure whether it includes non-US government entities). If you are talking about Shades of Green resort and those who can usually use that resort but cannot right now because it is closed for renovation and thus are getting discount rates mainly at the Contemporary, then government discount is limited to someone employed by the US Department of Defense (basically all US military units are part of DOD and it also employs a large number of civilians).

drusba,
Thanks for the quick reply. I shall look into it further as it seems a good offer if I can get it.

Hi Claire

You'll be pleased to know that UK Government employees ARE eligible for the SwanDolphin Government Rate. I rang them yesterday to ask about this. Unfortunately it wasn't any good for us as DH and I are retired, it has to be current employment. You can ring the Dolphin direct on 001 407 934 400 and ask to be put through to Reservations.

HTH :D

Mazzy,
Thanks for that. Do you know if Police Officers are included in the term 'Government employee'????
Claire

If it is a police officer employed by a city/county/state entity, they would. All you would need is your proof of employment at check-in. This can be an I.D. badge or pay check stub or even a letter from your supervisor or human resource department on letter head. S/D is a beautiful resort and extremely convenient to MGM and Epcot.

Call the S/D direct and confirm what you need as proof and verify that non-US government is included.
