OK -- Slightly OT but I just TOTALLY scored... $99 DING fares (one way) between Phoenix and Orlando for mid-September. Basically a savings of $158 round-trip compared to their next lowest scheduled fare! Between this seredipitous event, free dining, and Magical Express, I figure I'm saving more than $500 per person. WOO-HOO!!!!!!

Man, I guess I'll have to watch those fares out of PHX! I just may have to take another trip!

Congrats to you!!! I will luv them better when I can book for May '07!!! :p

I do luv southwest!! $59 one way chicago to orlando!!!

I live 3 hours north of Midway, for me by .the time I pay for gas, 12 total driving hours, which amounts to at least $120 in gas, tolls, $6.00 finding someone to take us down to Chicago, I break even flying out of Milwaukee on Midwest for $176 round trip. But if you live close to Midway, it's a bargain.

I am in Mokena, so we just take a limo to midway. It's about $100 one way. But it still ends up pretty cheap.

That's an awesome deal. Currently they're only booking through 10/27/06 (my birtday-woohoo) so i have to wait another 6 weeks or so to get my reservation for my 12/10 through 12/16 MVMCP trip. :cool1: :thumbsup2 :goodvibes

great fares ARE still out there if you just keep looking! Good luck to everybody else hoping to save a few $$$$$$.

Totally agree. We usually drive, but decided to fly for our Sept trip. Was $133 each way from Columbus to Orlando, which was still cheaper than anyone else. Checked the other day...$99 each way! Saves us like $200 total, I was stoked.

Will be nice to get there in a couple hours, as opposed to 14...

You got a great rate! The only thing I don't really like about Southwest is the 'cattle call' concept. But for that kind of rate, who cares! Good goin'! :thumbsup2

Congrats! I booked for $99 each way too though I missed a Ding that would have saved us $150 - darn it. Hoping for another chance at a Ding!

Jen!

Remember me? I just re-booked our flights with an $86 ding from DEN. Hope you see that before this evening. When are you going? We are going August 26th -- couldn't resist the free dining. I see from your siggie that you got your 3rd baby! We are expecting #2 in 4 days...we must talk soon!

For what dates?
BDL to MCO
July 22 return July 25... just a long weekend for me but for that price, why not? Just check around late July

I originally booked at $104 one-way PVD-MCO. Better than most other fares anyway. However, a few weeks after I caught a FANTASTIC DING!!!!

$44 one-way...$105.xx with taxes & fees for each of us. :cool1:  :cool1:

Can you believe that? BTW, I got our exact same itinerary. My original total was $1128, my new total is $528, (now I have $600 travel funds...I am feeling a MVMCP trip :santa: may be in order now).

You may have already seen a post regarding my SWA joy! When I got the Ding, I was slightly excited!!! I almost hyperventilated as I was cancelling and rebooking, LOL!

I got a Ding on Sunday for HOU to MCO for $99! :cheer2: I originally had tickets for 119.00 but rebooked it for $99. So for 2 tickets I have a $40 credit. It's not much but anything will help! Now if only I could get a Ding for the return flight!

Quick question: When you cancel SW online, how quickly do those funds become available to rebook? We got a not so great fare, but are hoping for better. If I remember from last time we cancelled and rebooked, the funds become available immediatlely, so you can do both transactions withing minutes. Is that still the case? Thanks!

Yes. The refund will show as a credit on your cancellation notice and you will need the reservation confirmation # from that to use the credited funds.
