Just returned from 7 days at BWV with teen daughters and one of their friends. Had a great trip and never even went to the parks....girls did water parks several times and we loved hanging out at BW...very relaxing....only down moment of the trip came on our first night there....we had done some hotel hopping and monorail riding, ending up at Polynesian to watch the fireworks on the beach....when we got back to the room my wallet was gone.
Wasn't sure if it had been lifted or if it just fell out of my purse...put in calls to lost and found at Poly and CR (both places called back the following Monday to say they had not recieved the wallet) and cancelled the credit cards....fortunately I only had about $50 in cash in the wallet and although I had my credit cards and drivers license in it I still had my passport for photo ID and all of our other cash, tickets etc in another document folder....so the trip went on without much interruption.
Today in the mail I get a package with my wallet, including cash and all credit cards!! Came from the "Theme Park" lost and found...I was so happy...no trip to the DMV to get a new license, etc, etc.
You gotta love Disney!! Not many places where that would be likely to happen.
In fact I have to say I was so impressed on this trip with the kindness and control shown by so many CM's...it was so hot and so crowded and we saw some of the most incredibly rude people imaginable and invaribly CM's treated them with far more kindness and respect than they deserved (my favorite was a family getting off the boat from the Swan coming to swim at Boardwalk and the mom was screaming at the boat driver because 2 nights before they had gotten on the boat from Epcot to the Swan and the boat smelled bad and her daughter got nauseated and all they told her to do was to move her daughter to a seat outside at the rear of the boat, and she had complained to guest services at the Swan and they would not refund the cost of their EPCOT tickets for the day and she was demanding that the girl driving the boat give them free tickets to compensate them for her daughter getting queasy because it "totally ruined their day"...the CM did not laugh at the woman or slap her (both thoughts occurred to me and I was just watching!!) she very politely told her at least 5 times that she did not have any tickets free or otherwise, but she was very sorry they had a bad experience and even wrote down the contact information for guest services at the park. She finally insisted that the family move along so they could load the boat...my DD told me that the woman's kids were talking on the way over about how they were still ticked because they wouldn't let them swim at SAB so they were coming over to BW to swim (even though they were staying at the Swan and there are 42 big ole signs saying "Pool is for the exclusive use of guests at Disney's Boardwalk hotel")
Sorry for such a rambling post...but it just seemed like there were a LOT of crazy, demanding people there last week...and most of the CM's we saw went above and beyond in dealing with them.
