FYI - Just tried priceline today and got SWAN for $69./night for 5/9-5/12!!!!
Total with tax and fee's (not counting the $10. resort fee...) was $235.72 for three nights.
Was really nervous about using priceline, as wanted to stay onsite - but thought off site resort at $69 wouldn't be so bad either.
I'm thrilled!!!

Congrats!! You got an awesome rate. That is so cool to get that great of rate on a deluxe. Enjoy you trip!

Congrats! You will love the Swan. Make sure you tour the grounds of the Dolphin also! Have a Magical Trip!!

Congratulations! That is a great rate! You will LOVE the Swan!

i want to do that so bad but i am very scared that i would noyt get the SWAN OR DOLPHIN.what should i do?

luvindisneyworld - I was very nervous - but before I went through with it, I convinced myself that the other "resort" hotels they had (Mariott, Hilton, and Wynham, I think) would be a great deal at $69. too. This is so I wouldn't be disappointed if I didn't get Swan or Dolphin. I just kept looking on the bright side - I still would be going to Disney!
Good Luck!

I saw on biddingfortravel.com that someone got the Swan for near my dates (3/19-3/24), so I took the jump. Unfortunately, I did not get the Swan or Dolphin for my $70 bid. However, I did get the Hilton at Downtown Disney and I am still very pleased. Im a Hilton Honors member and have had several pleasant stays with them through Priceline. It will still be nice to be that close to the action. So, bid knowing that there is a chance that you could get the Hilton or one of the other Resorts in Downtown Disney. If you are comfortable staying at any of those, chance it. $70 for the Swan or Dolphin is earth shattering, but $70 for the Hilton aint too shabby either!

after seeing your post i tried priceline and got the dolphin for 69.00 bid price for 6/7/03 needed one night before we checked into the bcv. i was suprised i got it for june and being a saturday night

....is a GREAT deal for S/D!!! That's even better than the $99 teachers' rate I got back in Nov 2001....you will LOVE the Swan ~ enjoy:D !!

I can't stress enough that Priceline should only be used if you can live with ANY of the resort hotels. That said, I think the Marriott is actually a "nicer" resort hotel than any of the others, but it is off property. However, the commute from there to DIsney was a breeze in my car.

Yzma and Kronk. Thanks! You’re going the same dates I am, so seeing that you got the Swan I went ahead and gave it a try. I could have lived with the other Priceline resort choices, but I would have been really disappointed! But I got the Swan for $69! Yay!

I checked out Priceline, but wasn't sure which hotel grouping to select? Is is "Disney World area" or "Buena Vista area" or both, or what? Is there a list of which hotels are in each category? Thanks!

Oh, and we really want Early Entry. I know that the Swan/Dolphin and the Hilton offer it, do any of the other Priceline properties offer Early Entry?

To get the Resorts in the Disney World area, you would select Disney World Vicinity. There are other areas you can select if your first bid isn't accepted that would give you free re-bids. Biddingfortravel.com has a ton of info on that.

The hotels that have come up in that zone are:
Walt Disney World Swan
Walt Disney World Dolphin
Wyndham Palace Resort & Spa
Marriott Orlando World Center
Hilton in the Walt Disney World Village
Gaylord Palms Resort

Most recently in the 60-70 dollar bid range, the Swan, Dolphin, and Hilton are the ones that have come up most often. However, that doesn't mean the others won't come up. HTH!

Of the hotels listed, which ones offer Early Entry other than the Swan and the Dolphin?

we also just got the swan for 70. a night 4/19 thru 4/25
i cant believe we got those dates seeing that it is easter!

I am so tempted to try, but I'd be really disappointed if I didn't get one of the hotels that offers Early Entry. I am a travel agent, and I already got the travel agent rate of $99 for one room, and $147 for the other room. We'll be there for 5 nights, and I got those rates for 4 of 5 nights. The one night that the travel agent rate wasn't available, I booked at $220, but they said I could apply a discount code if one comes available between now and October 2003 when I'm traveling.

I tried for 5/17 - 5/21 and got rejected at $69 and 70. I didn't want to rebid anymore. Looking at biddingfortravel, the higher the price, the less likely to get the s/d, which is what I really want. I've got the ASMo booked, but I would rather have something in DTD or the s/d for that amount of money.

I too was looking for Swan or Dolphin over Easter 4/17 - 4/21.

I bid at $70 and got Hilton in downtown Disney, boy was I disappointed.....until I looked at the website and saw they have Early Entry as well. They also offer transportation to the theme parks. Does anyone know anything about the transportation they offer?

I changed my dates to a week earlier (5/10 - 5/14) and was accepted at the Swan for $69!!! With the $10 resort fee, that is still $5 less than staying at the ASMo. Plus, we plan on spending an entire day at Epcot, so the location is perfect! :bounce:

For those of you who got the Swan or Dolphin on Priceline, did you put in 4* or Resort level?
