So I have been doing some research for a few hours now, and feel like I have found a very budget friendly way of getting your prescriptions filled AND getting FREE Disney Gift cards! :cool1:

I will be testing this theory tonight, possibly over a few days, but I'm fairly certain it will be successful. I will update this thread with all information..here goes.

Right now Walgreens is offering a $25 Walgreens Gift Card with any transferred Prescription. The printable coupon is here https://www.walgreens.com/images/cart/25dollar-coupon.pdf

In speaking with Walgreens, their "Gift Card" called the "Well at Walgreens" card is not eligible to use to purchase gift cards. So I did some calling around. Target & Wal-Mart both do price matching, but neither will accept the coupon (called several Targets & Wal-Marts).

However..Kroger will! I called 2 near my home and BOTH say they will accept the Walgreens coupon! Our Kroger has a HUGE HUGE HUGE display of literally HUNDREDS of gift cards...Disney included!

The coupon states "limit one card per transaction" and is good through 5/30/12. So if you have several prescriptions, you could get hundreds of dollars of FREE Disney Gift cards!! :hyper:

So...I am going to test this theory tonight. I have 2 (and more) prescriptions that can be transferred, as well as 2 new prescriptions. I will see if the coupon will work on both or ONLY transferred scrips. I will then see what they give me as the "gift card." Had some conflicting information so not sure. One person said it will show as a credit on my shopping discount card, one said it would be a Kroger gift card. However the "credit" is received, I will see if I can use it towards the purchase of Disney Gift cards and let you know.

If this works..it could literally get me $260 in FREE Disney Gift cards! Since I have to purchase these anyway..and Walgreens doesn't carry my insurance anymore..I need to find a new pharmacy for my business...fingers crossed that i can accomplish everything as planned :hippie:

No scripts for me but I have 2 for my dog that I get filled at CVS. I wonder if I can use those? Even though I don't have a Kroger near me, the Walgreen's GC would be fine. Free money is free money.

I think as long as it is transferred from another pharmacy it should be valid!::yes::

HMmmm I might have to try this. I have SEVERAL for DD that need to be filled tomorrow. Maybe I'll try this couldn't hurt not too. We can't use Walgreens so I will definately be trying Kroger.

Hmmm, well this could be good news. I have at least one prescrition that will need refilled by the end of this month, several more, but they filled them in April for 3 months worth so it will be some time before they can be filled. So eager to see, one is better than nothing and if I am lucky they will extent the plan.

i always get bummed out hearing about incentives to transfer prescriptions, since it isn't allowed in nj.

i hope it works for you!

You're taking 10+ different perscribed medicines? Wow!

If it is for a family, this isn't too uncomon. Just for me, two kids, and the cat, we have seven. I have three, the cat has one, my daughter has one, and my son has two.

UPDATE #1
So I was able to get two prescriptions and two $25 CREDITS on my Kroger Shopper card. I was told that the CREDITS could take up to a day to show up on my card, so I don't know yet if I can use them for Disney Gift Cards, but I should know tonight!

It was REALLY easy! I gave them my prescriptions, that were new...not transferred (so the issue of being transferred from an actual location was not an issue) and my coupons and I was done! Best part is they were LESS than Walgreens!!

10 prescriptions isn't that uncommon for a family..I personally have 6 each of my kids have 2 each, and during allergy season even more. :goodvibes
