Got Pixie Dust? A June 2009 PTR ~TR Link, Page 180

I am quite proud of my souvenir list! :goodvibes

Oh, thank you so much for pricing and locating the Mickey Bar tote -- is it a sign of obsession that I am thinking about changing which park we go to on our first day just so I can swing by Mousegears and get it?

Thank you! I cannot begin to adequately convey just how excited I am getting about the trip!

I'm pretty sure I'm totally unqualified to diagnose Disney Obession Disorder...I came down with that a long time ago LOL!! However Mousegears is totally a monorail away from MK and is near the entrance LOL...yes my name is enable LOL!

I am getting so excited for you!! You guys are going to have the best trip!! I cannot wait to hear and see all about it!!!!!!

Oh, I think those of us that suffer from DOD can diagnose it in others! :rotfl:

Yes, getting in and out of Mousegears would be pretty easy -- I wonder if there is someplace in DHS that sells them...:rolleyes1

Tell me more about this CD that is on your list......what does it have on it?!???! I am coveting it already!

It's what they always seem to be playing when I am on hold with Disney. I don't even know if it is still being produced although if it isn't, that would be kind of cruel on the part of WDW to play it everytime anyone calls.

I found the tracks listed on Amazon. Here is the list:
All Aboard Main Street Station
Welcome Medley MAIN STREET
Friend Like Me The Enchanted Tiki Room - Under New Management
Yo Ho (A Pirate's Life for Me) Pirates of the Caribbean
Bear Band Serenade Country Bear Jamboree
Splash Mountain Medley Splash Mountain
Grim, Grinning Ghosts Haunted Mansion
The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh
Destiny Mission Space
Impressions de France Impressions de France
Golden Dream The American Adventure
Star Tours STAR TOURS
The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror Theme The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror
Playhouse Disney Theme Playhouse Disney Live Onstage
Indiana Jones Stunt Spectacular Indiana Jones Stunt Spectacular
Beauty and the Beast (Beauty and the Beast)
It's Tough to be a Bug It's Tough to be a Bug
Cinderella Surprise Magic Kingdom Park

I do so hope they still have it or something very similar.

That sounds WONDERFUL!!!! That is always one of my favorite things about WDW---the music that is non-stop while you are there.....if I close my eyes REALLY tightly, maybe I can imagine it!

I need that CD too, I just love listening to Wishes........

I have that CD in my car!! I love it, you are correct it is a fantastic CD!!!! Of course my two favorites are the Grim Grinning Ghosts and the Impressions de France, that music is just so relaxing and fun!!!

Jackie,
I knew I had been away for a bit but I can't beleive I missed two updates and a ticker change.

Three weeks from today we will be living it up at Disney Hollywood Studios!!!

Our Countdown Calendar is moving right along. Connor likes to put random stickers on from time to time -- including a Happy Birthday and a Thank You one. I think he does it because it drives his sister nuts.

Today Connor and his school competed in the State Science Olympiad. It was held at Kennesaw State University, and when we stepped onto the Campus Green, he exclaimed, "It's as big as the Magic Kingdom!" :rotfl: Not quite. He had a great time competing in his events and really wanted to take a silly picture where he was giving me bunny ears.

Over on ILUVXU's PTR, she has been posting one thing they are looking forward to each day until their trip. It is becoming quite apparent that there are a LOT of rides that I or the rest of the family have never done. So, we decided to compile a list of our never-dones. Now keep in mind that I have been going to WDW pretty regularly since 1975, so I am not quite sure how I have missed some of these. The only excuse I can come up with is that we are very much creatures of habit. Also, I decided that if at least two members of our family have ridden a ride, it would count (like RNRC). So, here are our never-dones for rides and attractions by park.

Magic Kingdom
Frontierland Shootin' Arcade Diddo
Tom Sawyer Island
Liberty Belle Riverboat Diddo and probably still wont do
The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh
Tomorrowland Indy Speedway
Carousel of Progress (I did it years ago, but no one else has) Diddo

Epcot
The Seas with Nemo and Friends Diddo-Did it before it became Nemo.
Turtle Talk with Crush Diddo
Living with the Land (another one I have done, but no one else) Diddo
Circle of Life Diddo
Honey, I Shrunk the Audience
Universe of Energy (I remember the dinosaurs when I was eight and rode it) Diddo
Impressions de France (I have done it) Diddo
O Canada (I have done it) Diddo
Reflections of China (I have done it) Diddo
Illuminations

Disney Hollywood Studios
Playhouse Disney (will probably never do this) I would probably skip too since your kids are older.
Lights, Motor, Action! Diddo
Sounds Dangerous
American Idol Diddo
One Man's Dream
Fantasmic!

Animal Kingdom
It's Tough to be a Bug
Pangani Forest Exploration Trail Diddo
Rafiki's Planet Watch
Maharajah Jungle Trek
Flights of Wonder
Triceratop Spin
Finding Nemo
Festival of the Lion King

Whew! It wasn't quite as shameful as I had feared. We will probably manage to cross some of these off our list on this trip, but some will have to wait for another trip. ;)

After planning our return to WDW for almost a year, suddenly the days are flying by. I can't quite believe that we are only twelve days away, but the Countdown Calendar is always right!

007-5.jpg

This morning while Charles and I were having our morning coffee, we had the following conversation.

Charles: You know, the jolt from coffee is never long-lived. It's very temporary. That's why I like energy drinks better.

Me: Well, that's because there is about ten times more caffeine in an energy drink.

Charles: And assorted herbs.

Me: Yeah, that ginseng will send a person soarin'.

(Pause while we sipped our coffee).

Me: Hey, guess what? In twelve days, we will be Soarin'. (Laughing at my own wit).

Charles: (Laughing). I just knew you were going to say that.

Afterwards, we went to get his hair cut and buy him some new shorts. Now everyone has had new haircuts, and we are all set on clothes. I wish it was time to go ahead and start packing.

When we got home, Chelsea and I did a little crafty project. When I received our new Celebration-themed luggage tags in the mail, I decided I wanted to add some pizazz to them. I found rhinestone Mickey heads and ribbon at Hobby Lobby.

Chelsea and I love how they turned out!

I also thought I would share my souvenir wish list. I have kept a running list of things I want to make sure to remember to look at and/or buy while we are down there (in 12 days ;)). I am sure I will be buying other things, but I didn't want to forget any of these.

Jackie's Souvenir Wish List
Walt Disney World Cookbook
Address Book
Spoon Rest
Magnet (I get one every year)
Christmas Ornament (We get one of these every year as well)
Where the Magic Lives Official Park CD
Larry Dotson Artwork
Grapefruit Lotion from the Grand Floridian Spa

And my heart's desire for this trip:
Moroccan Tiles
Mickey Ice Cream Bar Tote

And I am leaving myself open to finding more heart's desires at the new Tren-D store in Downtown Disney!

Hope everyone has a great Memorial Day!

Love your disney humor. Love your crafty luggage tags. Love your shopping list. We, unfortunately, will not be doing too much shopping this trip. We have had some setbacks and I feel fortunate to just be going right now. And we still have not received our $600 state tax refund which was going to be our spending money. Its ok though because our boys despise shopping and somethings are just not worth the headache if you KWIM.

Not flying, but I always put the luggage tags on the suitcases. ;)

I saw that spoon rest! It's cute but I am hoping they have some different choices because I am not sure how I feel about Mickey's dismembered arm holding my soup ladle! :lmao:

Sweet!! That means I get luggage tags too!! :yay:

And what's wrong with a dismembered arm? I mean, I have his severed head EVERYWHERE!! :lmao::lmao::lmao:

I don't think I have that Disney CD! I listen to the Illuminations one all the time, we got it as a special gift when we went in 2000! And oh how I LOVE the luggage tags you two made!! SO pretty! Your trip is getting SO close now!

Count us in as guilty on having Disney, Disney, and more Disney CD's. If you can get that five set of Classic Disney CD's, that will keep you singing for a while. Then there are the three Greatest Hits ones - red, green, and purple. I have every park one I've seen except Illuminations. I also have the Candlelight Processional with Phylicia Rashad. And the Animal Kingdom one - if you listen to it on a steamy summer day after a rainstorm, you can transport yourself there very easily!

Anyone who looked in my CD case would wonder about me, I'm sure. I have gospel, Disney, and Christmas and no other kind of anything.

Yes, I love that no matter where you are at Disney -- either at a park or a resort, you hear music playing that fits in perfectly!

I need that CD too, I just love listening to Wishes........

Fingers crossed that we can find it!

Did you purchase it recently or have you had it awhile, Jen?

We have a lot of similar never-dones!

Thank you! Sometimes I wish my children weren't shoppers, but they love it as much as I do.

Oh, I like the sound of the Animal Kingdom one -- I was just thinking this morning while listening to the Broadway soundtrack of The Lion King in the car how much I was looking forward to being back at all the parks.

Gospel, Disney, and Christmas music -- what could be better? Really! :goodvibes

I love the music too - in fact, I'm sitting here listening to Dis Radio while I type :goodvibes

I pretty much just listen to my Disney CDs in the car (that and the new Kelly Clarkson album which is AWESOME - I highly recommend that one). I have the 3 Greatest Hits ones (that I think come in the red, green and blue cases) and I love those. My sister was in the car with me about a month ago and we were listening to that and she turned to me and said, "Doesn't it just make you want to go right now?" :lovestruc Sure does!!

Yes, sometimes (okay, all the time ;)) when I listen to Disney music it makes me want to be there that exact moment! :goodvibes

Guess what today is?

005-9.jpg

Yep, that's right! Ten days until we go to Disney World!!!

004-8.jpg

We had root beer floats to celebrate! While not quite as good as the ones purchased at Sleepy Hollow or Aloha Isle (sadly I am the only one in my family that likes Dole Whips -- the rest always get root beer floats), they did taste pretty good.

Well, I am pretty sure Connor jinxed our trip the other night. Sitting at the table eating dinner, he said words that engendered much knocking on wood. What words were those? "I can't wait until we go to Disney -- nothing bad ever happens there!" (He is a little stressed about going to the dentist tomorrow for a filling.)

So, that made me start thinking. Have bad things ever happened to us at Disney? Well, of course, they have. What about Connor in particular? Most definitely. Connor's statement coupled with cjackearl's story of a scary time involving Amelia at Typhoon Lagoon provided the inspiration for tonight's list.

Connor's Top Five Worst Moments at Walt Disney World

1. December, 2004: While standing in line for Mickey's Philharmagic, my MIL and I look around and realize Connor is not in line with us -- a line we have been standing in for several moments! Worst moment ever! He was five! :scared1: I backtrack as quickly as possible and find him standing near the Carousel in a sea of strollers. Hands-down my worst moment ever at Disney.

2. June, 2007: I tell Connor he can't buy a stuffed animal lizard at Mombasa Marketplace in Animal Kingdom. He cries all the way out of the park and all the way back to the resort. In retrospect I should have let him get it -- who knew it would mean that much to him!

3. October, 2007: (He would die if he knew I was sharing this one.) Standing on the platform of AstroOrbiter he has an "accident." Poor child doesn't like heights. Hence is born the regimental bathroom visits every couple of hours on subsequent trips.

4. June, 2008: Three words: Toy Story Mania. Need I say more?

5. June, 2008: Connor dumps a frozen lemonade all over himself at Disney Hollywood Studios.

Clearly Connor has chosen to remember all the great moments we have had at WDW as opposed to the bad ones -- heaven knows, I am not going to remind him about them. ;)

Oh Connor! :lovestruc What a cutie! How scary that must have been to lose sight of him!

My scary park moment was last June when my bag (which included $$, credit cards, ID, 2 cameras....)fell off the Dinosaur ride  I am embarrassed to say that I lost it and went crying to Guest Services and filed my claim. I was mostly concerned since a) that was the money I had for the trip, including the credit cards, and b) we were going on the cruise a few days later and if I didn't have my ID, how was I going to get on the boat, much less get home??!!

However, this story ended with true Disney magic; they found the bag, unscathed might I add, and both the young gal at AK and the concierge at SSR got some big hugs from a very grateful me!

10 days - WOO HOO!!!!! :cool1:

Very cute update, CP! And being at home now, I can FINALLY see your luggage tags! TOOOOO Adorable!!! I am so copying you!!! ::yes::

And funny 2 of the 5 moments are at DHS. Hope that doesn't become an overall un-lucky park for him!

10 days!!! :cool1::banana::dance3::yay::woohoo::cheer2:

Yippee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Poor Connor. Those are some yucky moments. Especially #1 :scared: But WDW does manage to make it all OK and leave all the happy moments.

Just think about all the happy moments you are about to make... in 10 days! And, yes, we'd like to hear about the not-so-happy moments too-- because as you can see even those turn into pseudo happy or at least nostalgic moments! :)
