LOVE your countdown calendar btw! Are those the mickey heads everyone talks about that they get at Home Depot? I really really need to make one for Gnomefest when it gets closer!
You definitely HAVE to do COP again and WTP, we love those!
I agree with the above though, you should definitely try and slow down in AK and see some of the landscape, it's such a beautiful park! Tough to be a Bug is always funny and you must must, if anything see FOTLK and the Maharajah Jungle Trek...FOTLK is the only show that we haven't missed year after year! :thumbsup2

Jackie, I am so guilty of the same thing. It seems that each time I go, I do the same rides, shop in the same stores, eat at the same places, etc.

But this trip I am determind to change it up! :goodvibes Your list inspired me!

I like your idea of making a list of "never-dones"! That's great! I keep finding things that Kelly has never done, because the last time she was in WDW was 2001. How many great things have opened since then?!?!? I really hope you get to do Fantasmic and FOTLK while you are in WDW (soooo soon!!). Those are two of my favorites that were on your list! And Winnie the Pooh. Who doesn't want to ride in a honey pot?

Girl, look at your countdown calendar! You're in the homestretch now.

Re:The List--some of my lists are fairly long. Do we have to count all the movies in Epcot? If so, uh oh.

I am getting so excited! Once school is out for the students (I have a day and a half next week), I will really start getting things ready for the trip. I can't wait! It still seems kind of surreal at this point.

Nah, I don't think you have to count the movies -- I did simply because I know the kids would like watching them.

I need to make myself a list like that. Excellent idea! You have a lot of must dos this time don't ya?

Love the countdown calendar!

We won't do all of the never-dones, I know that. If we did, we wouldn't be able to fit in all of our tried and true favorites.

Thank you! I love watching it get covered up with stickers.

I forgot the arcade too........

I know Connor, with his penchant for pretend weapons, will love pretending to be a cowboy.

wow....you guys have been having some interesting do-do discussions around here and i missed it.

love the picture of you and connor! so cute. i think my list of never-done attractions would be longest at epcot. we never seem to get to some of the buildings!

Aren't you sorry you missed the poo talk?

Thank you! We tend to skip a lot at Epcot and focus on our favorites.

The countdown calendar is great, and there's nothing wrong with those stickers, Connor! I thought he was putting up Spiderman or the Hulk or Bakugan or something totally non-related. Anything Disney is cool. I'm sure it was somebody's birthday somewhere out there on the Winnie-the-Pooh day, and there's always room for more Thank you's from Nemo and Dory!

No, I am afraid I stifle my children's creativity to some extent and insist on Disney stickers. ;)

Very cute picture of Mom and Connor. I'm sure you guys had a fun day! That looks like a big deal. What all did he have to do?

Thank you! We had fun, but it was very muggy and buggy outside Saturday. Teams compete in several events which are all science-related -- Connor's two events were Save Our Earth and Categories.

Do you plan on taking your list and checking it off as you complete your rides and attractions? You have your own Kim Possible mission going - to get as many things as possible checked off that list! Next time you go after this (when will that be?) you can keep working on it and probably finish it off. Then you'll earn your Dis wings.

Or ears, I guess it is. :earsgirl:

You're in the twenties, and with school ending, you'll be so busy that these days will fly by! :cool1:

Have a great (maybe relaxing) Sunday at your house!

Yes, the list will be getting printed off and placed in the binder. We'll do some of them this trip, but not all. Our next trip will probably be June 2010 or July 2010 depending on whether or not my MIL goes with us.

I would so like to earn my DIS wings! Are they like Tink's wings?

19 now! It's hard to believe we are in the teens!

The countdown calendar is looking great! I too was imagining Connor selecting non-Disney stickers but at least he's sticking to the theme! :thumbsup2

Love the picture of you and Connor -very cute!

I have quite a list of "never dones" too. From your list I would heartily endorse Carousel of Progress, Illuminations and One Man's Dream as my favorites of those you haven't done. From what I hear (I haven't done it either) you might as well leave Sounds Dangerous on the never done list. :confused3

Hurrah for getting closer to Disney day! :yay::yay::yay:

Thank you! Illuminations and One Man's Dream are definites for this trip. Sounds Dangerous is sometimes closed because of SWW (gosh darn it ;)).

Wow Jackie, can't believe how close you are to school being over! We have 23 days still:sad2: Too funny about the countdown calendar and Chelsea getting so upset! I LOVE how you guys are making "never done lists" I laugh each time on laura's report when you shyly type how you haven't been!:rotfl: Hey, at least you admit it!;) Now to your list, In Epcot the only two that stand out to me is Tiurtle Talk with Crush, sooooo cute and I would think Connor would love it!:thumbsup2 Illuminations is the other. I will probably be flamed for this but I just think it is OK!:scared: I LOVE being in the World Showcase at night though.:rotfl2:

Just remember that you will still be enjoying your summer vacation when we are headed back to school.

Oh, yes, I will admit what I haven't done -- one of the things I love about the DIS is how I am always getting new ideas. We would probably never have even thought about Turtle Talk, but now it is on our radar. I'd like to see Illuminations just to say we have done it.

At DHS LMA is AWESOME but in June it will be HOT in that stadium! Fantasmic is awesome too but unless they pick up there schedule and add more it seems like it would be a hassle to try and see this year!

At the AK we loved Flights of Wonder! Also, FOTLK is INCREDIBLE, your whole family will love that too!

At the MK, I DESPISE the Indy Speedway! COP is a GREAT way to cool off and with Space and TTA being down, probably won't have to wait at all!:thumbsup2

Enjoy your last week of school, I am jealous!!:goodvibes

I am thinking we will try to do LMA first thing in the morning before it becomes unbearable.

FOTLK is a definite this time.

Anything air-conditioned will be a welcome respite!

We are trying to get through the week without losing your minds.

You have some great rides and attractions to look forward to in just a few more weeks! Wow! Can't believe you are in the home stretch here! School out in a week, and then the real fun begins! Your list is short! I think you are right that we are just creatures of habit. We like what we like! But how great is it that we always have new things to do and see. Your calendar is colorful and fun! The stickers are all great choices!! :thumbsup2

Yay for the 20s!!! WOW!!! :yay::yay:

Thank you! I don't think it has quite sunk in that we are so close to our vacation.

Your list looks great. I still haven't fully compiled mine. Must do today. I've decided that the ones I think your family should really try to do this trip are....
*One Man's Dream
*Living with the Land
*Carousel of Progress.

The picture of you and Connor is very cute. I also think the stickers are just fine, I thought he was putting up non-Disney ones. Tell Chelsea to chill. ;) :rotfl:

I am thinking we will certainly check off One Man's Dream and Living with the Land this trip. We'll try to fit in COP.

Thank you! Connor and I had fun!

I will tell Chelsea not to get too worked up.

Last night Baylor sat next to me to do a little DISing, he made me slow down so he could read along when it came to the part with you and Connor at the Science Olympiad, he was very impressed! Soooo, I scrolled up and found a picture of Chelsea. Then we had to go back and look at the intro pics......:rotfl:
He can't wait to meet you guys!
When we visit with people in lines he calls them our 10 minute friends, he's thinking that we will be so much more than 10 minute friends....

Diane, Shocker agrees with you about Illuminations, he's not a big fan either. I on the other hand just get sucked in by the whole package, the music, WS at night, the message. I don't know but I do enjoy it so much.

Ahhh, that is so sweet about Baylor. Tell him that I agree -- we will be much more than 10-minute friends. :goodvibes

I have a feeling I will get completely sucked into the whole Illuminations package as well! It sounds like it is right up my alley! I promise I won't get all emotional and do a running commentary during it though.

What a great picture of you and Connor! He's a trip :rotfl:

Ok of the ones you listed that you/your family has never done these are the ones i think you should do the most...

Turtle Talk, Illuminations, American Idol, One Man's Dream, Fantasmic, It's Tough to Be a Bug and Festival of the Lion King. Just my opinions LOL Enjoy your Sunday CP! :goodvibes

Thank you!

I like your opinions except for It's Tough to Be a Bug -- my entire family is petrified of bugs so I don't think they could handle it. Connor even comes to get me when there is a small gnat in his room. When we go home to Charleston to visit friends, my husband screams like a girl if he spots a Palmetto bug. There is no way I am inflicting Tough to be a Bug on my own sanity.

Me thinks it's time for you to slow down at AK and smell the roses (or dung, depending on which way the wind is blowing).
Please....I beg you :worship: to at least do the Trail and the Trek and either Finding Nemo or FOTLK.

I seriously can not believe your trip is coming up so soon. :3dglasses

 about the dung! I promise to do the Trail, Trek, and Lion King just for you, Heidi!

I can't believe you haven't done The Seas with Nemo or Playhouse Disney! I thought those were absolute must dos every time you walked into their respective parks especially Nemo. Or maybe that is just the way my little blonde tour guide leads me. Or the little blonde convinces her hobbling old MeMom she must ride the clams again to find that clownfish. If you don't make it to some of those attractions on your list this time I have that fantastic little blonde tour guide to lend you the next trip!

I think it would be a ton of fun to have that little blonde tour guide show us around her MK, her Epcot, her DHS, and her AK! Then we would surely get some of those that we have missed.

So I also forgot Finding Nemo at AK. I am not sure how we can get both FOLK and that in, but I guess I want to try Nemo.

I am with Diane on Illuminations. I really don't care if we miss it again. It is such a hassle to get out after it...

Do let us know what you hope to knock off the list...

Everytime we see Nemo on the planning DVD or a Travel Channel show, the kids just grown -- I think my two will like Lion King better.

Is it a complete madhouse to leave Epcot after Illuminations?

wow you do have kind of a lot. But thats not bad- its just that you have a lot of must dos every trip and with kids its not as easy as just going and doing what you want to to do all the time. Also, some of the attractions are newer, so that could explain it. But if you do decided to do all those new things.. you have a lot of exciting things to try! :goodvibes

I think my brother would of done something like.. stick "thank you" stickers on the board just to irritate me. He was always doing stuff like that. hehe

That's one of the things I love about Disney -- there is always something new and fun to try.

My brother, who is 22 years old now, is still doing things to annoy me (or I suspect he is). I borrowed his copy of Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade to show my 8th graders this week (we just finished a King Arthur unit) and I am pretty sure he licked the DVD before he gave it to me.

Of course I am in a different stage of life than you. We couldn't get out of MK without going on Pooh. I think Pooh is actually pretty good. I refused it for a few trips b/c of the whole Mr. Toad thing but I really like it now. If you like the original movie you will like it. The Liberty Belle is one of my favorites as well. It is a good place to eat some ice cream in the evening and relax. I think that when you and Connor read Tom Sawyer together you will get a kick out of the island but until then it is just hot walking and the boat ride over gives me claustrophobia. I would avoid it at all costs in June. We won't even attempt it this trip.
Nemo is, in my opinion, a pretty bad ride. But I cannot avoid it at this age. Crush is really cute and worth checking out if you happen to be in the Seas and there is no line. But with no little ones, it isn't worth sitting through 3 cycles of the show. Ellen's Energy Adventure is a really great ride. The dinos are still there but the updates are great. Your science whiz kids will love it. It is a great length and dark and cool.
How about you do Playhouse Disney and I skip it? Please? Pretty please? I know we will probably have to do it this time. We avoided it when Abs was 2 1/2. Lights, Motor, Action was awesome. I am not a car or stunt show person at all but it was really good. Also, a pretty hot venue in June. Your kids are the perfect age for Sounds Dangerous. It is really neat and airconditioned and your DH can easily sleep in there. So that's a bonus.
In AK I would skip Rafiki. It is a waste of a lot of time IMHO. I would do Festival of the Lion King and Tough to be a Bug for sure. Both are very good and are cool and involve sitting. Do you see where this pregnant woman is going with ride choices? :cool2:

I am not pregnant, but any escape from the heat is welcome in my eyes!!! You have some awesome insights into everything! Thank you!

I love the "haven't done yet" list idea! I have ILUVXU's report up on my computer right now, trying to get up to speed on it, I'm looking forward to all the lists! (and jotting down the idea for a PTR idea!)

The Nemo show at AK is really great, the puppetry and songs are amazing. Just don't sit in the front row with a toddler. ;) I don't think that will be a problem with you though!

Turtle Talk is a lot of fun for all ages! Even if Chelsea and Connor feel like they are too old to sit up front, sitting on the benches and just hearing what the kids ask and interacting with Crush is a blast!

CoP is one of my favorites. :lovestruc

I hope you are able to get a few knocked off your list!!

The countdown looks great, and love the pic of you and Connor!

My kids loved Laugh Floor so I think they would like Turtle Talk.

I remembered from your TRs how much you like COP -- Charles can be lured in with the promise of rest time. ;)

Thank you! We need to put tonight's sticker up before the kids head to bed.

Wow CP! Last week of school already!

Enjoy! party:

Our kids don't get released from bondage until June 25th!! :rotfl2:

It won't be long now until you're with the Mouse!!

Kathy

I don't think it has really set in how close we really are -- I have been thinking about this trip for so long and it has seemed so far off, that I can't really grasp the fact that we are less than three weeks away!

Finally all caught up! Thanks for those links in your first post. :thumbsup2

Love the shirt for Chelsea's reunion with Bo. I thought of you guys when we saw him - unfortunately I didn't get a picture for you. :headache:

Alex got one of those stuffed Yetis this year - Zachary got the big round fluffy one.

You are getting so close!! I love seeing the countdown calendar filling up with stickers.

Yeay! I am glad you are caught up again.

How was Bo holding up? Chelsea freaked herself out the other night by wondering if Disney would ever take him down.

We love Yetis -- we are looking forward to more Yeti souvenirs next month.

It's such a great feeling watching the kids put on the stickers every night.

I love this idea! The list of things you've never done. That's great. And of course, the countdown calendar is looking mighty nice! I think I'm going to use yours as a template for myself, I really think my DS would enjoy that this year. :goodvibes

I used DisMomAmy's countdown calendar design so it must work well! I think DS is getting to the perfect age to do a countdown.

I see a bit of a pattern in the things you skip. Lots of movies and bigger time eaters. :rotfl: The Sounds Dangerous attraction isn't the greatest, but I've always had alot of fun in the workshop room it dumps you out in when it's done. I'd recomend playing there for awhile if possible. Don't miss the sound booths where the sounds make things like a haircut feel so real. The stations where you can dub your voice onto Disney cartoons is alot of fun too. When I went with my BFF I think we spent at least a half hour or so messing around with those. The one for two women was a scene from Snow White. We could have played around with it for hours switching characters and trying to get it just right. I was always a lousy evil witch, but was pretty good at Snow White.

Oh, I want to go play in the workshop room -- Chelsea and I would have a blast dubbing our voices.

 I can't believe I had forgotten that you and your wonderful family have never been on COP LOL....I think you promised me you would try to remedy that this trip right right ?????

Either way Jackie I am so excited for you and your family and even more excited because we both know that your vacation means that we are done teaching for another year....where did this year go LOL!!!! I'm still looking for it!!!

I love me some DHS so I can't wait to see all the wonderful photo ops that Chelsea and Connor come up with YAY Congrats to him for competing in the State Science Olympiad...you know me and my love of all things scienecy...so two thumbs up to him.

Thank you, Jen! I will try to remedy the CoP gap this trip for you! :thumbsup2

Where did the year go? Supposedly I have taught for 176 but I am not sure what I did with those 176 days! LOL!

Connor loves competing in SO -- he became a little enviromentalist during all of his Save Our Earth practices.

:thumbsup2

Thank you! Yes, the Mickey heads are the ones from Home Depot. I have heard so many great things about Festival of the Lion King -- I can't wait to see it!

Fun list!! I hope you get to knock some of those things off. :) Not much longer now! Woot Woot!

We will knock a few off, but we have to make sure we save room for our favorites. Can't have a trip without Splash, Haunted Mansion, POTC, Soarin', and Kali River Rapids -- just to name a few!

Jackie, I am so guilty of the same thing. It seems that each time I go, I do the same rides, shop in the same stores, eat at the same places, etc.

But this trip I am determind to change it up! :goodvibes Your list inspired me!

Ahh, I am glad you inspired me. Now you will have to do a post on your PTR with never-dones!

Oh, Kelly is going to be awed at everything they have added!!! You ride in honey pots? We'll have to do it now! :thumbsup2

Oh, yes, you definitely ride in honey pots (hunny pots) on Winnie the Pooh! And they are so cute! Try to hit that one, if y'all have time! :)

I've decided that they never do grow up. My brother is 35 and still delights in doing crazy things to drive me nuts. I don't know if he's licked a DVD on me or not (and that really is too funny), but he comes up with enough weird stuff that my nieces think he's nuts. Of course the younger one is taking notes for tip, but that's another story. :rotfl:

Winnie the pooh is my favorite fantasyland ride!! I love the tigger part and how they make it look like its raining!

I love heffalumps and woozles (and the song they sing in the movie)! :thumbsup2

Well they sing it in the ride, too, and believe me it will be in your head for a few hours at least, until you ride somthing else like Its a Small World or Splash! Then you will replace it with an equally catchy and contagious tune! ;)

HOW many days now?!?!?! :yay:

I love your list, but I can't BELIEVE how many you have not ridden yet!!! YOU MUST do the attractions in the Seas---they are too cute to pass up!

Wow! I can't believe you're down to 18 days!!!

I missed your update 4 days ago but I just caught up. I couldn't believe that you hadn't done Turtle Talk or L!M!A! I would totally peg those attractions for your family.

Can't wait to see that list after you come back!

So, I know I said I wasn't going to fix my ticker even though it was a day off, but I couldn't take it any longer. I was tired of having to look at it and having to add a day in my mind. Poor Tink has been sent back to start.

Your countdown calendar is so awesome! Love it! :goodvibes

And that picture of you and Connor is adorable.

Thank you! Connor can't seem to pose in a normal way. :rotfl:

Oh, yes, you definitely ride in honey pots (hunny pots) on Winnie the Pooh! And they are so cute! Try to hit that one, if y'all have time! :)

We will -- one morning I would like to head to MK and get all the Fantasyland rides done before it gets crowded.

:rotfl:

:lmao: Brothers never grow up, do they?

Winnie the pooh is my favorite fantasyland ride!! I love the tigger part and how they make it look like its raining!

I didn't think I wanted to do it, but after reading everyone's rave reviews, I am looking forward to it!

Well they sing it in the ride, too, and believe me it will be in your head for a few hours at least, until you ride somthing else like Its a Small World or Splash! Then you will replace it with an equally catchy and contagious tune! ;)

HOW many days now?!?!?! :yay:

Gotta love Disney and their songs that get stuck in your head! I think I now all the words to "Heffalumps and Woozles."

I love your list, but I can't BELIEVE how many you have not ridden yet!!! YOU MUST do the attractions in the Seas---they are too cute to pass up!

We will be at Epcot for two days, so we should be able to head over to the Seas.

Wow! I can't believe you're down to 18 days!!!

I know it! I think about it and I start getting all panicky because there is so much I haven't done yet to get ready. :scared:

I missed your update 4 days ago but I just caught up. I couldn't believe that you hadn't done Turtle Talk or L!M!A! I would totally peg those attractions for your family.

Can't wait to see that list after you come back!

Those do sound like attractions we would have hit by now, don't they? Hopefully this trip! :thumbsup2

:lmao: I hope so. You know how Tink can be! I tried to be all, "Oh, it doesn't bother me," but it got to the point where I couldn't even look at the ticker because I knew it was wrong. My OCD couldn't take it.
