oops. No. I was there in March and they were doing a preview thing for resort guests only. We married on March 7th so we went to WDW @ the 13th for a week. You meant the actual opening for everyone. What wouldn't give to go back...I'd do everything differently! EVERYTHING!

Must be in the air. I was having Disney stress (sounds like an oxymoron, doesn't it) last night over all the little things that still need to be done. Us uber planners want everything to be just right, right?

Yea for 1 month!!!

For those of us that have tackled a Disney trip at any point in our lives -- Disney stress can be a very real thing.

Yea! One month.... it will go fast, but I understand the stress from ending the school year and getting ready! BTW I think having a next time list is part of the fun! I might have to go back and look at mine...

That's so the way I feel about the trip that Charles and I took to the Poly in 1995 -- there are so many things I would do differently!

Big celebrations happening at our house the past couple of days! Yesterday was the official ONE MONTH UNTIL WE LEAVE!

Even Nala was excited! Look at her tail just a goin'! Little does she know that her vacation is a week at the kennel.

After much debating, we decided to hang the countdown calendar in the hallway near the kids' rooms.

I unwrapped the Mickey soap from Basin to use during this last month of waiting. I sure hope they still have it so I can restock. It always makes me smile when I am in the kitchen.

Today was our official 30 DAYS UNTIL WE LEAVE FOR WALT DISNEY WORLD!

In true magical Disney fashion, our travel documents FINALLY arrived. I skipped into the house with them! I just love the balloons all over everything -- it makes it so festive!

My excitement edged ever closer to the exploding mark when I read all of our trip details on official Disney paper printed in official Disney ink.

Woo hoo!

After dinner, we headed to the hallway for the ceremonial first placing of a Mickey head on a Mickey head.

I told the kids to look excited. I have to share all of them with you because Chelsea and Connor crack me up. Chelsea's excited look is apparently also her "I'm terrified" look while Connor is clearly being excited in a "manly" way (i.e. not showing any outward signs of emotion).

My plan entailed them both placing the sticker, but in trying to get a picture I missed some sort of disagreement and/or scuffle between the two of them. Suddenly I was aware of only one set of hands in the photo.

Our night of celebration ended with the following:

Connor: Well, I guess I just ruin everything for you, Chelsea!!!

Chelsea: Yep, you pretty much do!!! (Stomp, stomp, stomp.)

Me (Yelling in that mom voice at the departing backs of both children): This better not be the way the actual vacation turns out!!!

Sigh.

But arguing in Disney is still better than arguing in the real world, right?

Oh your post was so much fun to read!!! Calendar looks GREAT! Lets face it: EVERYTHING is better in WDW... even sibling squabbles! That bit had me laughin' and yes, those of us uber-planners, list-makers, ADR-fretters clearly know that those final 30 days are no laughing matter! We need a drill sargent smilie!!!

Congratulations on reaching your 30 day countdown. I remember when this trip was just a tiny baby with a Beach Club journal cover.

Poor Nala. She's going to miss her humans!

I would love to bring home about ten bars of different soaps, but I'd be horrible about using them. I'd have to buy two of each - one to just look at and one to use.

Jill perfected the stomp, stomp, stomp when she was Chelsea's age. There could possibly still be traces of her footprints in the hallway leading to her old room.
We pretty much just laughed at her or ignored her back then, and she finally came back out. She even laughs at herself now.
Girls have their drama and boys know just how to get it started. The perfect combination for chaos!

This is, hands down, the best shirt I have ever seen. I cannot wait to see pics of Chelsea wearing it!

And arguing is never ever fun, but I would have to agree it's better in Disney World than in the real world!

i totally understand the mom-yelling-to-settle-a-fight voice. i'm a big sister so sometimes i had to do it, too! one time sticks out in my mind. i was already living in georgia and brooke (my sister who was about 16) and brett (my brother who was about 13) came to visit me for a week in the summer. i met my dad in chattanooga to pick them up and as we were going down the road on the way to my house they started fighting about something and started actually hitting each other. i pulled the car over and said in a very loud, stern voice, "DO NOT THINK THAT I WON'T TURN THIS CAR AROUND AND DRIVE YOU GUYS BACK TO NASHVILLE. THIS IS NOT HOW THIS WEEK IS GONNA GO DOWN!!!!!!" they didn't fight the rest of the week.

Don't worry, this sounds exactly like me and david at that age!! When I was younger (we're 6 years apart) I used to go in his room and laugh at him just so he would attack me so we would fight and I would have something to do. That poor child lol! We argued/fphysically fought all the time!! especially when I was at that Tween age! I'm surprised mom still has hair!
