Got Pixie Dust? A June 2009 PTR ~TR Link, Page 180

Great pictures! Festival of the Lion King is awesome, awesome, awesome. I cried I loved it so much. My kiddos haven't seen it though so I am soooo excited to bring them to see it. 35 days!!! Woot! :)

Getting ready to update in a little bit before we get more storms. :headache: 15 days of school and 35 days until Disney -- I can't wait! Simply cannot wait! Everyday when I check the mail I hope to find our travel documents and luggage tags, but nothing yet. :( Maybe on Monday...

How soon do you leave after you get out on the 18th?

So NICE that you will have that time to get ready, we get out on the 18th and leave on the 20th!!:scared1: I will use the weekend before to get mostly packed!:thumbsup2

Wellllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll ????????????

Did ya get your

MICKEY MAIL ??!?

:magnify: Keep looking in that mail box! Like Charlie Brown -- you know when he sticks his hand all the way in, then his head ??!!

I am sure it will come soon! :goodvibes

Oh, it's so close, CP!!
(Hey, we get out of school at the same time. Cool! Sorry, just a side note.)
Animal Kingdom holds a special place in my heart. It was the first park we visited at Disney World. Ah... how magical. :cloud9: AK just IS Disney for me, in a sense. I love the pics of the kids in the face paint. So cute!
Just 35 days!:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

It is so close!!! As is the end of school for both of us!!!

Animal Kingdom still seems so new to us which is a neat feeling.

Oh my goodness, I still laugh out loud at the Bat picture. :rotfl2:

I am really looking forward to Animal Kingdom this trip. I really want to see Finding Nemo. I think you will love Festival of the Lion King, it's amazing.

You know I had to include the bat picture just for you, LL!

Neither of the kids seem terribly interested in seeing Finding Nemo, but since we know all the words to all the Lion King songs, we should hit that one. ;)

I loved the Animal Kingdom pictures. They came at a great time my husband just walked in and said his brother and wife are going to Disney in Oct. did we want to go also of course I want to go.:dance3:

Yeay! That is so exciting that you are going in October -- that is such a wonderful time of year to go! Food and Wine and Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party!

I love the bat picture too. Classic! Can't believe you are so close!! :woohoo:

It was such an unplanned spontaneous moment -- further proof of why we love Disney so much!

You got some great AK pictures. Wow, you guys really did get wet on Kali River Rapids. I was a little wimpy about getting wet last trip, but I'm going to put my big girl panties on this trip and just do it.:thumbsup2 FOTLK is really amazing, you'll love it. Your kids look so cute, I mean ferocious, in their face paint.:goodvibes

We did get a good soaking -- luckily it was very hot that day. I chose to sit out the second ride while Charles and the kids went, and they were just drenched. Chelsea and Connor loved getting their faces painted -- I imagine they will want to do it again this year.

It's so funny you wrote about AK today because I just looked up your TR this morning and read the AK day because I think it's what I might want to do in July for our 1-day trip during our Captiva vacation. Is it really brutal when it's hot out?

I don't think it is any more brutal than the other parks will be -- I love the theming of Animal Kingdom -- you would have a great time there!

Festival of the Lion King is the best show I have seen at any of the parks. It gave me goose bumps. The singers are incredible. The jungle trek is awesome. I got my travel docs yesterday and I am 6 days before you.

I hear wonderful things about FOTLK -- I can't wait!

Good to know about the travel documents -- I have been waiting not-so-patiently for the last few days for them to appear.

When you are at the Conservation Station go to the bathroom.....trust me on this....very funny.

I suggest doing both the Pagani Trail and the Maharajah Trek early in the morning.....it's less crowded. And give yourself time with the animials....I've been amazed by the gorillas more then once and had the pleasure of watching Tigers swim.

I love love love the tumble monkeys at the FOLK show. I personally can do without the parade.

Writing down the restroom at the Conservation Station right now. :thumbsup2

We have two Animal Kingdom days planned (plus the park hoppers), so I figure one of those days we will do the walks first thing. Tell me about the suspension bridge to the gorillas -- is it a real suspension bridge that sways in the wind? :scared:

This trip I realized just how much I love AK! I hadn't been there since 1998 and Asia wasn't even open yet when we were there. Going with my BF last week was just great. The theming there is my favorite out of any of the Disney parks. So jealous that you're going to be there NEXT MONTH!

I truly adore the theming in the Africa and Asia sections -- you just feel like you are in a completely different corner of the world! Can't wait to read what you thought about Everest! :goodvibes

Jackie, I just love your early morning pictures of Animal Kingdom..... :goodvibes
Connor pulling the rickshaw cracks me up!:lmao:

Thank you! We are going to have to find some new photo ops for Connor to indulge his acting spirit with this year.

three of my favorites!!! :thumbsup2

Yeay! I am really looking forward to doing all the things we haven't done at Animal Kingdom.

Oh wow Jackie!!! I love your AK pictures!! I have never been to AK before and I can't WAIT!!!

Thank you! It's a lot of fun! Your girls will be so cute there wearing their giraffe print dresses!

It seems like only yesterday we were 35 days away! I hope it flies for you like it has for us! Also forgot to add David and a friend of his with their family is going to be in WDW on June 13th they are staying at POP so maybe you will see him!! I'll show him what you look like to prepare him if you dont mind. I'll also find out what park they are doing on that day!

I really hope it flies by for us, too! I can't believe you are leaving this week! By all means, show David what we look like -- it would be funny to run into him for an impromptu DIS encounter. :goodvibes

Animal Kingdom just keeps getting better and better!

Kathy

I think so, too! :thumbsup2

so fun your pictures!

I cant wait to really explore this park either -- There is a lot to soak in.

I am so excited for you -- 35 days! Ours is 45 days!

Can't wait to see the count down calendar "CP" style !! :thumbsup2

Thank you! Now we are at 32 and 42!

We'll be starting the countdown on Thursday! Woo hoo!

Love the painted faces picture... (I remember what happened though). Connor is so cute pulling the cart. You will love being so close to AK... I am so excited you are staying at the Lodge this trip next month!!!! (fun to say that)

Thank you -- I will have to make sure we do the face painting on a day it isn't supposed to rain. Our first deluxe stay as a family is right around the corner! So thrilling! I get all giddy just thinking about it!

Beautiful pictures Jackie. AK is one of our favorite four themeparks :rotfl2:
Last year we went during evening xtra magic hours and it was practically empty. We rode Everest about 9 times in 90 minutes! FOTLK is my favorite Disney show!

This time I vow to remember bug spray! :thumbsup2

Really? Maybe I should think about doing a EMH at Animal Kingdom -- the kids would love to ride Everest a few times in a row!

So while we were partying yesterday, you decided to sneak in here and put up pictures of my very beloved Animal Kingdom?!?!?
I would have stopped the party to come and look, if I had known!

You're going to love all five of the things you said you haven't done.

Your pictures are great! After seeing them, I think I am every bit as excited about you starting your countdown calendar as you are!

Yes, while there was a real-life animal safari going on in your backyard, I was daydreaming of Animal Kingdom. :lovestruc

I have a hard time believing there are so many things we have never done, but that will make the trip that much more fun.

Thanks for the photo compliments -- we will have to decide where to hang our calendar in the next couple of days -- someplace prominent with good lighting, that's for sure!

35 days!! It's going to fly by if May at your house is anything like May at my house! Three field trips last week (how can this be? I only have two kids!), a concert and an art show this week....the list goes on.

Great pics of AK. I love just soaking up the details there!!

I am so excited for you. :cool1::cool1:

Apparently we are going to have a busy May -- I was looking at the calendar and we have something going on every weekend from now until June 6 -- which I think might be a good thing in terms of making the time go faster.

The little details make Animal Kingdom so much fun!

Thank you! I am excited about your next trip as well!

Happy 34 days!

I love all your pictures!! They are really good. I planned to take a lot of pictures like that this time. It will be great memory pictures and remembering everything. AK is my DH fav. time. We want to eat at Yak & Yeti- but idk if they will happen or not. Have you ate there yet? If so, how is the food, atmosphere etc?

Reading your post reminded me that I still need to post my NEW things for AK.. gees I keep forgetting.. I'm slacking.. !!

We did eat at Yak and Yeti last June -- the theming and the food were great. They have neat mixed drinks as well -- I was thrilled to find that I can get them at the counter service place near by -- the Everest Avalanche was very good last year!

Well, in your defense, you have been busy with the end of school and all! :goodvibes

All of my other replies are on the previous page!

Awesome update and pictures per usual Jackie! :goodvibes

How cool that you get to see Festival of the Lion King for the first time! :thumbsup2 You'll be blown away. :)

Thank you! What time would you say is the best time for the show? Do they fill up quickly?

I really love the Animal Kingdom. I can't even describe it, it's just so different from all the other parks, and it speaks to me. Seeing your pictures brings that feeling to me, and it's great!

I get chills just thinking about Festival of the Lion King. Those amazing voices! Never mind all the other fun. I can't wait for your sweet family to take this trip so I can see more pictures. :goodvibes

Ahh, thanks, TK -- I am glad I could bring a little Animal Kingdom into your day!

Once I get the second memory card I am planning on getting, I will have the capability of taking almost 1000 photos to share with you!

Great List Jackie! You will LOVE FOTLK! Such a great interactive show!! We never seem to see the shows anymore, it is all about the rides for my boys! I will have to change that this summer for sure!:goodvibes

Thanks, Diane! Neither of my two are very into shows either -- it's usually me insisting that we stop and see something -- then afterwards they are glad I forced them to!

Your trip is getting so close!!

I know -- I am so ready!

I agree! Festival of the Lion King is one not to miss!! It's great! I know one of the girls that plays Zazu! :) Her name is Gina. Actually...I know several Disney CMs. A friend from college plays Prince Charming at MK. Oh....and he DOES look the part. Sooo cute. :) And another friend of mine is a server at Cinderella's Royal Table. Anyway, your trip is coming up so soon! I am so glad I can live out this next months until my trip by reading you TR, and the TRs of all my other Dis friends! :cloud9:

Wow! That's awesome about knowing so many CMs -- I always thought it would be so neat to work at Disney -- maybe when I retire from teaching they will hire me!

That's the great thing about the DIS -- someone always has a TR going to tide the rest of us over -- when you go in December, I will be avidly reading in order to sustain myself until next summer!

I LOVE your pictures Jackie!! Those are so good - and the kids in their animal faces, too cute!!

Only 35 days - WOW!! :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: Time flies, huh? I can't believe it's May already. TTYL!

Thank you! Time was flying -- now it seems to be crawling, crawling, crawling. Hopefully it will speed up again soon!

Great pictures! Festival of the Lion King is awesome, awesome, awesome. I cried I loved it so much. My kiddos haven't seen it though so I am soooo excited to bring them to see it. 35 days!!! Woot! :)

I'll have to remember to bring kleenex with me, then, because I tend to be one of those weepy people with just about anything.

So NICE that you will have that time to get ready, we get out on the 18th and leave on the 20th!!:scared1: I will use the weekend before to get mostly packed!:thumbsup2

You will be going straight from school to Disney -- how nice! I like to give myself that two week buffer to get completely organized and ready.

Wellllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll ????????????

Did ya get your

MICKEY MAIL ??!?

:magnify: Keep looking in that mail box! Like Charlie Brown -- you know when he sticks his hand all the way in, then his head ??!!

I am sure it will come soon! :goodvibes

Nope, no Disney mail for me. :sad2:

I was like Charlie Brown yesterday. :rotfl:

I do hope it comes today -- I start panicking and wondering if it has gotten lost -- I was already plotting how many days I would wait before calling Disney about it.

Hey CP, I don't know why I keep forgetting to pop over here and see what the latest is with your trip. I too can't believe how early you are done with school! We don't get out until June 12 (maybe later depending on whether kids have to make up this week due to the flu closing)

I think I enjoyed AK the least but then I see awesome pics like yours and I think I must have missed something, guess I'll need to go back.

FOTLK, Yes, yes, yes!!! It is truly amazing. I always get chills when I hear the songs on DisRadio. Jammin Jungle Parade is also great, another DisRadio favorite of mine. We didn't do either of the trails, missed Nemo and KRR, and didn't get to use our EE fastpasses because of a thunderstorm. Yes, I need to go back. In the meantime, I will look forward to your TR

The Festival of the Lion King was neat. We liked it. We saw The Lion King on tour, and enjoyed it. This is very different, but the dancing and acrobatics are really fun to watch, I am sure both your kids will like it. The costumes amazing. We are looking forward to the Nemo Musical... that is at AK too, right?!? I have to research all these and get a game plan for seeing shows not just rides -- especially at AK and DHS.

Come on, Mickey Mail!! :cheer2::cheer2:

HAPPY ONE MONTH TICKER DAY!!!!!

I am so excited for you I could just BUST! I have been missing you like crazy too! So looking to living vicariously through you over the next month, and then I can't wait to hear all about when you return---but I will never wish it away for you....it all goes by TOO fast!

Wow. Your trip is just a few days from now!!! I can feel the excitement in your posts! :) Love the AK pics. The kids are so cute in their animal masks.

Ya know what....we may have been at WDW at the same time back in '98. Sidney and I honeymooned there in March of '98. The first week we spent on RCCL and the second week we went to WDW and I remember the AK opened the day we left. (We actually left early....I was homesick.) That was the first time I'd ever been away for weeks at a time. What I wouldn't do to get that time back....Of course back then I didn't know what we know now. We thought we'd done everything Disney had to offer. Ha. Little did we know. We did get in River Country and Discovery Island though. I'm so glad we got to do all that before they closed it down.

1,000 photos, huh?

I hope photobucket is ready! :lmao:

I wonder if I will need to upgrade? :rolleyes1

That's okay! You don't have to make up those days, right?

I think Animal Kingdom is the one park where you have to really slow down to catch everything -- we always seem to enjoy ourselves more when we just soak in the atmosphere.

Yes, you definitely need to go back -- Everest and Kali River Rapids are a couple of my favorites!

No Mickey Mail yet! :sad2: Where can it be???

FOTLK just looks like it is such high-energy -- I just know Chelsea and Connor will love it! Nemo is at Animal Kingdom -- near Dinoland.

HAPPY ONE MONTH TICKER DAY!!!!!

Thank you! I am so glad that you are getting a bit more time to post this week! Yes, time at Disney always flies by -- I wish I could slow it down!

One month for you, Jackie!! :) :thumbsup2 :banana::banana:

Thank you! It was the first thing I thought of this morning! :goodvibes

Happy one month Jackie!! :woohoo::yay:

Thank you! I was going to sneak over here tonight and post about it, but you all remembered! It made my day!

Wow. Your trip is just a few days from now!!! I can feel the excitement in your posts! :) Love the AK pics. The kids are so cute in their animal masks.

I am getting to the point where I just want to scream, "I want to go NOW!" :rotfl:

I bet we were there around the same time -- I went and dug around in our Disney box -- I found our parking pass from the day we went to MGM -- it was April 14, so we were there that week. Sometimes I wonder if we will ever see everything Disney has -- we always seem to go home with a mental "Next Time" list. I bet River Country was neat -- I remember begging my mom when I was little to go there, but she was never a water parks kind of person.

Yippppeeeeee for 1 month! We are getting very close!:goodvibes

:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo: 11 1/2 days left of school!:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

Thank you! After ANOTHER day of crazy weather, it was so nice to log on and see everyone sharing my excitement. Tomorrow we start the countdown calendar -- we hung it up tonight -- you have never seen such trouble trying to find a spot to hang it!

12 school days for us!!! :cheer2:

:yay: How fun to read that Ticker Line?!?! One Month!

So Exciting!

Wow, seems like we are all waiting and waiting and then all of a sudden it comes up so quickly! What a great feeling. :goodvibes

Okay, CP, get ready to employ your high speed planning and preparations operation!

Can't wait to see the count down calendar!!! :yay:

I started feeling overwhelmed this evening thinking about everything that still needs to be done -- I need to make a list!

I started feeling overwhelmed this evening thinking about everything that still needs to be done -- I need to make a list!

Must be in the air. I was having Disney stress (sounds like an oxymoron, doesn't it) last night over all the little things that still need to be done. Us uber planners want everything to be just right, right?

Yea for 1 month!!!:banana::banana::banana:

Yea! One month.... it will go fast, but I understand the stress from ending the school year and getting ready! BTW I think having a next time list is part of the fun! I might have to go back and look at mine...
