Got Pixie Dust? A June 2009 PTR ~TR Link, Page 180

Jackie...I loved the past pictures of DHS how awesome!! I love movies too so MGM has always held a special place in my heart!!! You're pictures were fabulous and I can't wait to hear about Connor and Chelsea's favorites parts in DHS!!!

Wonderful update!

Loved the pictures---my favorite part you didn't even comment on......those lovely pegged-legged jeans!!!! ;) Wow, we were REALLY styling back in the day, huh?!??!?!?!

I remember when you could go sign up to be part of the audience as they taped Mickey Mouse Club----to think, I once saw Brit Spears, Justin Timberlake and the rest of the crew LONG before they were famous.

Love loveee the throwback pictures! Connor definitely looks like Michael too.

You were totally stylin' too in your early '90s fashionable attire :rotfl:

Seriously CP, if you had said "Connor and I goof around" I would have believed you, I didn't believe you at first that wasn't Connor and you haven't aged a bit!

Nice Flashback!!

My first time laying eyes on the Studios was 2003, so it was a treat to see some "and that's the way it was" shots!! :thumbsup2

Kathy

I also took a double take with the picture of Michael - thinking it was Connor!

"Country - Teppan Edo" :rotfl: That is so like MY Charles!

Great update! It brings back memories of my trips with my best friend in high school. We thought we were so cool walking around MGM without her parents! :rotfl:

I too thought you were posing with Connor - I was so confused... :confused3

I just spent the last hour seeking out pictures of me in '91 wearing what looks like the SAME brown leather jacket and pegged stone wash jeans.:rotfl:Your pictures are great! You do happen to look exactly the same. Lucky girl!:goodvibes

By the way Jackie - I didn't end up having a Grey Goose Slushie on my trip. :sad1: The day we were at Epcot was just soooooo humid and I didn't think drinking alcohol was a good way to stay hydrated. :rolleyes1 So, I'll be anxiously awaiting your review. ;)

I think so too! ::yes::

Holy hilarious! I just looked at the pictures and didn't read the captions this time- I TOTALLY thought it was Connor and thought the same thing Katie did!

And I was :rotfl2:at the leather jacket. And do I see some tight-rolling action as well? Man, we were all twins back in the day...... :rotfl:

I love, love, love the old MGM pics. My first trip there was in 92 and I completely fell in love with all the behind the scenes stuff. Especially the behind the scenes tour which lasted for hours and showed you all kinds of neat stuff, and the animation tour which actually featured animators working on Disney movies.

I still like the studios, but for me something has been missing since that first trip. I didn't make it back there until 1997 and by then stuff was already disappearing. So sad!:sad2:

:goodvibes I'm so excited about our trip! There is SO much planning to do...very soon after I finish my TR I'll be starting the PTR!

Hurray!!! I can't wait to hear all about your plans for a Christmas trip!

I love all your DHS pics!! I agree with the crowd that it would be nice if DHS has more of an actual sound-stage/set feeling. I kinda get that when walking through the Pixar area, but all the buildings are still just empty. I hope they do something more with it.

I wish too they would take the hat AWAY. The Chinese Theatre is beautiful, and I'm not so fond of the hat.

Looking forward to more DHS pics!

Thanks! I like the hat, but I don't like that it blocks the Chinese Theatre -- it used to be such a great line of sight from the main entrance to where it is -- very Hollywood-ish.

Oh, and love the stonewashed, tight rolled jeans. We were all so stylin' back then, weren't we?! :rotfl:

We were -- who thought tight-rolling was a good idea??? :lmao:

Love the flashback... looking forward to the sequel. I also vividly remember my first ride on Star Tours and really feeling like you were in the movie. Magic! And I think that they used to really play up the backstage tour and tell you that you never knew "who" (meaning a celebrity) you'd see back there filming. Even though I never saw anyone it was still fun! And of course back in the day (the day of leather jackets and stonewash jeans ;) ) it was really cool to see the Golden Girls' house!

Looking forward to reliving Connor's Toy Story Mania moment and Chelsea and her main man!! :goodvibes

I was so in awe the first time we rode Star Tours -- I hope they redo the film soon since it is looking a little grainy -- with today's technology they could do some amazing stuff with it!

I remember seeing the Golden Girls' house. :rotfl:

Thank you so much for the flashback photos!

OMG, do they bring back memories.

Watch out for the camels! They spit! :lmao:

You're welcome. ;)

:lmao: about the camels! That's probably why I stood so far away from them to take the picture.

Love your DHS post!! Too funny about your poses...I have a similar one from my teen years!:rotfl:

Thanks! I guess we were "being cool" with our poses! :rotfl2:

Jackie...I loved the past pictures of DHS how awesome!! I love movies too so MGM has always held a special place in my heart!!! You're pictures were fabulous and I can't wait to hear about Connor and Chelsea's favorites parts in DHS!!!

Wonderful update!

Thank you! I am glad you enjoyed it -- Chelsea and Connor have had some great moments at DHS! ;)

Loved the pictures---my favorite part you didn't even comment on......those lovely pegged-legged jeans!!!! ;) Wow, we were REALLY styling back in the day, huh?!??!?!?!

Thanks, Jen! Pegged-legged jeans stayed around for quite awhile, too, if I remember correctly -- I am just surprised that I am not wearing colored socks to match my shirt. :rotfl2:

I remember when you could go sign up to be part of the audience as they taped Mickey Mouse Club----to think, I once saw Brit Spears, Justin Timberlake and the rest of the crew LONG before they were famous.

I always forget that Britney and Justin were essentially Disney creations!!! They sure shed that Mickey Mouse veneer, didn't they? :lmao: That's so neat that you saw them when they were younger.

Love loveee the throwback pictures! Connor definitely looks like Michael too.

You were totally stylin' too in your early '90s fashionable attire :rotfl:

Thank you! I always get a good laugh over my misguided fashion choices -- at least the rest of the world was wearing the same thing.

Seriously CP, if you had said "Connor and I goof around" I would have believed you, I didn't believe you at first that wasn't Connor and you haven't aged a bit!

Oh, I have aged quite a bit, but I don't post the photos that show that. :lmao:

That's funny that you didn't believe me at first -- I promise that's my brother. :rotfl2:

Nice Flashback!!

My first time laying eyes on the Studios was 2003, so it was a treat to see some "and that's the way it was" shots!! :thumbsup2

Kathy

Thanks! I am glad you had fun seeing the vintage pics!

I also took a double take with the picture of Michael - thinking it was Connor!

"Country - Teppan Edo" :rotfl: That is so like MY Charles!

I guess the genes on my side of the family are the dominant ones! :thumbsup2

My Charles always has to be the difficult one when playing games. ;)

Oh man! I can't wait to get home and read this again so I can see the pix!! ::headache:

Don't you hate that -- when I am at work, I always have to wait to get home to see most of the photos on updates. So frustrating!

Great update! It brings back memories of my trips with my best friend in high school. We thought we were so cool walking around MGM without her parents! :rotfl:

I too thought you were posing with Connor - I was so confused... :confused3

That's too funny about you and your best friend -- are you going to let Tricia and her cousin go off on their own?

Nope, that's my brother, Michael, who is 12 years younger than me. He looks so different now -- besides the fact that he towers over me by almost a foot. :rotfl:

I just spent the last hour seeking out pictures of me in '91 wearing what looks like the SAME brown leather jacket and pegged stone wash jeans.:rotfl:Your pictures are great! You do happen to look exactly the same. Lucky girl!:goodvibes

I loved that leather jacket -- I remember getting it from the Limited and wore it for YEARS. It was looking a bit worn by the time I finally parted with it. :lmao:

Not so lucky in close-ups...:rotfl2:

By the way Jackie - I didn't end up having a Grey Goose Slushie on my trip. :sad1: The day we were at Epcot was just soooooo humid and I didn't think drinking alcohol was a good way to stay hydrated. :rolleyes1 So, I'll be anxiously awaiting your review. ;)

Now I will HAVE to get one so I can give you a review! :rotfl2:

Holy hilarious! I just looked at the pictures and didn't read the captions this time- I TOTALLY thought it was Connor and thought the same thing Katie did!

And I was :rotfl2:at the leather jacket. And do I see some tight-rolling action as well? Man, we were all twins back in the day...... :rotfl:

There would be no mistaking Connor and my brother, Michael, these days except they both act totally goofy. :lmao:

Yes, those are tight-rolled jeans...:sad2: Really, who did that for the first time and thought it looked like a good idea? And why did we all follow suit? :rotfl:

I love, love, love the old MGM pics. My first trip there was in 92 and I completely fell in love with all the behind the scenes stuff. Yes, Backlot and the animation tour used to be so fantastic! I still like the studios, too, but like you said it has changed so much!

That's too funny about you and your best friend -- are you going to let Tricia and her cousin go off on their own?

Nope, that's my brother, Michael, who is 12 years younger than me. He looks so different now -- besides the fact that he towers over me by almost a foot. :rotfl:

You're mixing up the autism moms! :rotfl: You'll have to ask Kathy if she'll let Tricia & her cousin go off on their own. ;) I definitely won't be letting Alex & Zach off on their own! :lmao:

I have a little brother who towers over me too! He's only 3 years younger than me - he's 6'4"!

STONE WASH JEAN JACKETS!!!! I was born in '87 and am such a 90's girl at heart. I miss those days... I could totally go for wearing some giant platform sneakers while watching TGIF and listening to Hanson  That's later 90's though... my early 90's memories are mainly made up of STONE WASH JEAN JACKETS (:woohoo:), What Would You Do and Salute Your Shorts on Nickelodeon, and some New Kinds on the Block... love it! :thumbsup2 Your pictures are awesome... and I also thought that was Conner in your picture and got really confused :lmao:

Agghhh, I can't believe I did that. How embarrassing! I am going to use the excuse that I did not have enough coffee this morning. I am so sorry. :flower3:

Yep, Michael is about 6'1" these days -- I would have a hard time strangling him now!

By the way, Chelsea and I made a countdown calendar last night that looks suspiciously like the ones your boys made. Thanks for the idea! ;) I will be posting pictures sometime this week -- poor Chelsea wanted to hang it up right then and there, but we have to wait 30 more days before we can start putting stickers on it.

I have to confess that I don't miss the 90's fashions at all. :lmao: Now, NKOTB, on the other hand, -- I was pretty excited when they made their comeback this past year. ;)

 I'd never, ever wear any of that now, but I love looking back and remembering all the stuff I wore. There's nothing like platforms with leggings and a scrunchie :lmao:
