Jackie---thanks for taking that time to explain Teppan Edo to me again---I thought that was how it all worked out. I'm going to say that that is SERIOUSLY going to be a front-runner for Tom---he loves the Benihana that we have here in Downtown Cincy---goes there all the time for lunch.........has he taken his wife of almost 10 years and love for 16 years to there even once in all these years?????? YEAH............NO! So I am thinking this needs to be on our ADR list too!!! )

Do you remember which characters were at the Tusker House breakfast? I am thinking about doing this for an early before the park opens meal---even if I have to pay OOP for it!

If you have never been to Benihana, then you should definitely go to Teppan Edo. It is quite the experience!

I see Annette already answered your Tusker House question -- the food was really good and I love the atmosphere.

Hey Jen, hope you don't mind me jumping in to tell ya..... it was goofy, Daisy (which I think is very hard to find?)Mickey, and Pluto If I am remembering correctly it was pretty good, but my favorite breakfast is still Crystal Palace the characters rush through pretty fast at TH IMHO.... HTH

Thanks, Annette ! We are doing Crystal Palace this year -- it will have been four and a half years since we last went, so I am pretty excited!

I'm so happy you posted a link to your Teppan Edo review!! We are eating there during the portion of our trip when there will be 8 of us. I'm VERY picky and Alex is even pickier so we'd never eat there just the four of us. I decided to try something a little more fun when DBIL & family are there. Sounds like we will have a great time - even if I have to buy Alex another lunch after.

I think they have chicken nuggets or something similar on the kids' menu. You will have a great time there!

Just wanted to add that I like your plans for late breakfast/brunch time slots. That worked very well for us in Nov. We went to the park early, for opening, and then had an ADR at 11 for Crystal Palace. The people are starting to leave, things slow down, food wasn't a problem, and the characters have fewer people to visit with, so we had lots of face time with Pooh and friends. We are doing the same thing at Chef Mickey's -- I hope it is the same experience. Your other choices sound great!

That's what I am leaning towards -- that way I don't have to get stressed trying to make an early ADR.

But $875, whoa! That is a lot of money! It sounds like it's a very good move for you, so congratulations!! I do hope AKL opens for you though, keep trying back regularly!

Staffing and Kitchen issues should be resolved within a few weeks of opening so I wouldn't worry about it. WWHD? rotfl2: ) If it were me.....if I liked the menu I would give it a try. It's all about the attitude you go in with. And since you will be staying at AKL, you should try it! Part of your DVC research.

Many of you have spotted the new ticker!!!

This morning at 5:30, as part of my usual routine, I logged onto the computer. I checked my email, checked the weather, read my subscriptions on the DIS, and checked available rooms on the WDW travel site.

There it was – the elusive 4/3 Animal Kingdom Lodge room. It was a savannah view room, and even though I had told myself that a pool view bunk bed room was the highest I would go, I knew that this might be my only chance.

At 7:00, I called the reservation center. I was “Pansy’s” first call of the day, and she was super sweet and helpful. She had everything changed over within ten minutes.

I am brimming full of excitement.

Shall I list the reasons?
1.It’s Friday, and I booked Animal Kingdom Lodge.
2.It’s exactly four months until we are checking into the Animal Kingdom Lodge.
3.We are going to see the King Tut exhibit this weekend. We have been practicing walking like an Egyptian.
4.My trip binder now gets to put on all of its AKL finery.

I will say that when I changed the ticker, Tink was a little perturbed at being sent back to the start – yet again. She told me this was the absolute last time that she would allow it. I better listen to her since we all know what Tink can be like when she gets angry.

I'm so excited for you! Your going to love it there. When I stayed there back in 2003 my favorite time of the day was at night when my mom and I would sit on our balcony with a cup of tea watching the giraffes eat outside our window. So, so excited for you!

Can I just say that I am not surprised....not even a little bit? I just had this glorious, wonderful feeling that a room was going to open up, I seriously did. Once the switch was made from BC, I knew that that meant that the planets were going to align and all things were going to fall into place for you to go to AKL-----especially now that it has been SERIOUSLY becoming a resort of choice in our household too!!! I have often said that we are so much alike, that it would only make sense that we would naturally start gravitating to the same resort!!!!! I am so thrilled and ecstatic for you!!!! HAPPY FRIDAY INDEED!
