Got Pixie Dust? A June 2009 PTR ~TR Link, Page 180

I agree with your comment on the tusker house! Im having the same dillema, I always feel like im rushing through breakfast to get to the park opening, espcially when there are characters involved! I think this trip I am going to make a late Crystal Palace breakfast, so we can be leisurely.

Jackie did ya'll get any snow? We got a couple of inches last night so no school for Hannah. Unfortunately it's still work for me.

Your ADRs look great! It's gonna be a super cool trip!

I can't wait! I am so ready for warm weather and Disney magic!!! Today my order from amazon arrived -- I ordered the Lost Journals of Disney World (one of the Guide to the Magic books). It is so super cool. It is all set up like an adventurer's journal in search of various things at WDW -- including cracking a code. Connor and Chelsea are going to love it. The hardest part is going to be putting it away and waiting to give it to them.

I think you will really enjoy it. All of the Disney resturaunts seems so accomadating with special requests too, so I am sure they will let you take off the tomatoes and what have you. :thumbsup2

That's what I figured -- heaven knows I don't need any more mushroom drama where Charles is concerned. :rotfl:

You crack me up Jackie. :rotfl: But, I soooo get the fun with words. :thumbsup2 I didn't know there was a new restaurant! You've taught me something new today. :goodvibes

I love words -- another one of my favorites to say is "maniacal." ;)

The new restaurant opens May 1 -- I can't wait to see a menu.

See, I think I want late, leisurely breakfasts that will also double as lunches (because we always pig out). I guess I still have a month and four days to decide though.

We had some swirling flakes this morning and 17 degree weather -- so close, but yet so far.

Enjoy your snow day! :thumbsup2

I really wouldn't put too much into the early reviews of Sanaaaaaaaaaaaaa.
Restaurants all pretty much suck when they first open. I'd go more by the menu.

Jackie, I just finished reading your ptr and tr from last summer. It was great! You are right back where you started as far as your resort goes, unless of course AKL opens up.

Jackie... are you considering moving back your trip to get the AKL- the 4/3 deal is being extended on Monday through Aug. Remember that the Deluxes have value rates in July--- so you might be able to get AKL and a better deal... Just something to think about maybe?

Yummm....grapefruit cake.....your ADRs look great!

Thanks! The thought of that grapefruit cake has my mouth watering.

:rotfl:

It will have only been open for a month when we go -- do you think I should wait on it and go with Boma instead???? What would you do, Heidi?

Thanks! I am glad you enjoyed both! :goodvibes

I should have just stuck with my first instinct on resorts, shouldn't I? ;)

I did see that and entertained the thought for a couple of minutes. Mid-June is our cut-off though -- heat and crowds just become unbearable to us as summer progresses. Are you thinking of moving yours back at all?

Jackie---I like the ADRs---I want you to remind me some more about Teppan Edo---when I read the menu, I get all confused---please tell me all about your fabulous meal there!!!! PLEASE??? PLEASE???? PRETTY PLEASE????? (And yes, I am saying that with my best puppy dog-eyed, bottom-lip pout, eyelashes batting as possible!!!!)

Jackie we did talk to reservations today... and they did confirm that as people cancel rooms will appear... if that gives you hope!

(and no I did not make any changes!)

Oh, hon, you know me. I would never, ever steer you away from the Brown Derby! And I'm DED over Chelsea's comment about Hamburger Helper. I think it may be a step above that there, but that was so cute! :lmao:

And I'm with you on the whole maharajah sanaa thing. I love to pronounce those too! Count me in with the people who love certain syllabic pronounciation.

Um...but we're not literary dorks, right?

Right? ;)

ooo Jackie those new ADR's sound gooooood. We're trying Tusker House breakfast when we go, I've heard alot of good things about it. :thumbsup2

Hollywood Brown Derby sounds delish too. Can't wait to hear how you guys like it :goodvibes

Teppan Edo was our favorite meal of the trip last time! You are seated at a beautiful dining table that has a cooking surface on one side. Your waitress comes, introduces herself, hands out chopsticks, and takes drink orders. Then, she comes back and takes your order. You can order an appetizer, but they gave us so much food, it probably isn't necessary. Basically you are choosing your meat -- shrimp, chicken, steak or a combination of them. You also get noodles and vegetables. Next, the chef comes and cooks it all in front of you with lots of cool tricks and joking around. The food was sooooo good and cooked to perfection. Afterwards, you can order dessert -- if you like ginger, the chocolate ginger cake is really yummy! Our chef had us laughing the whole time.

Here's the link to the big explanation of it in my TR: http://www.disboards.com/showpost.php?p=26594497&postcount=2400

It does give me hope -- thank you so much -- I check everyday hoping, hoping, hoping.

Are you looking to switch to a different resort, too?

I am hoping it is a step above! :lmao:

Literary dorks? Us? Nah! :rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl:

Thank you! Tusker House is soooo delicious -- make sure you try the juice they bring to the table.

Not only am I looking forward to the food at Hollywood Brown Derby, I am looking forward to the atmosphere -- I love old Hollywood glamor!

Sunday: Breakfast at Tusker House.

I'm so jealous of you.. We wanted to go there but it just doesn't seem to be happening.. I'm hoping I can squeeze it into my trip somewhere. And yesterday I was reading my disney dining book and it said that it was one of the best places to eat buffet style! It made me want to go more.

Tuesday: This is one of two that I am really excited about. This is our DHS day, so I said to Charles yesterday morning, "We need to pick a DHS meal. It can be Sci-Fi or Prime Time." He said, "Are those my only choices?" To which I replied nonchalantly, "Well, there is Brown Derby. It's two table credits." Charles, darling husband (at least at that moment ;) ) that he is said those oh-so-magical words, "Let's do that one then. It can take the place of Yachtsman." OKAY! Later that day I was reading the menu off to everyone and when I was reading the kids' menu I read off the entree Meaty Macaroni. Chelsea piped up, "That's Hamburger Helper in the real world, Connor." Charles and I about died laughing. I would hazard to guess that Meaty Macaroni is far better than Hamburger Helper. :rotfl: I can almost taste the grapefruit cake. Mmmmmm.

I love Sci-fi! and I've heard good things about Brown Derby.. that would be a hard decision! OHHand I love Hamburger Helper.. so easy yet so yummy! hehe :goodvibes

Wednesday: Still Crystal Palace for breakfast.

YAY! We are doing this to!! Have you ever ate breakfast there?

Thursday: Our back-up if the restaurant gets horrible reviews is our very favorite, Boma.

I'm glad that Boma is your fav. because this is one that I look most forward to going and my DH didn't really want to. So this reassures me even more!

GREAT Choices soo far!! =)

Jackie---thanks for taking that time to explain Teppan Edo to me again---I thought that was how it all worked out. I'm going to say that that is SERIOUSLY going to be a front-runner for Tom---he loves the Benihana that we have here in Downtown Cincy---goes there all the time for lunch.........has he taken his wife of almost 10 years and love for 16 years to there even once in all these years?????? YEAH............NO! So I am thinking this needs to be on our ADR list too!!! :o)

Do you remember which characters were at the Tusker House breakfast? I am thinking about doing this for an early before the park opens meal---even if I have to pay OOP for it!

Hey Jen, hope you don't mind me jumping in to tell ya..... it was goofy, Daisy (which I think is very hard to find?)Mickey, and Pluto If I am remembering correctly it was pretty good, but my favorite breakfast is still Crystal Palace the characters rush through pretty fast at TH IMHO.... HTH

I'm so happy you posted a link to your Teppan Edo review!! We are eating there during the portion of our trip when there will be 8 of us. I'm VERY picky and Alex is even pickier so we'd never eat there just the four of us. I decided to try something a little more fun when DBIL & family are there. Sounds like we will have a great time - even if I have to buy Alex another lunch after. ;)

Just wanted to add that I like your plans for late breakfast/brunch time slots. That worked very well for us in Nov. We went to the park early, for opening, and then had an ADR at 11 for Crystal Palace. The people are starting to leave, things slow down, food wasn't a problem, and the characters have fewer people to visit with, so we had lots of face time with Pooh and friends. We are doing the same thing at Chef Mickey's -- I hope it is the same experience. :) Your other choices sound great!:thumbsup2

I KNEW IT!
I saw your generic ticker on my TR and thought "something is going on over at the CP house..." and sure enough... :rotfl2:

But $875, whoa! That is a lot of money! It sounds like it's a very good move for you, so congratulations!! I do hope AKL opens for you though, keep trying back regularly!

Your new haircut is great!

according to allears it is pronounced sah-NAH with the emphasis on the second syllable. Try it. You will find yourself saying it at odd moments in your day just because it's fun -- well, maybe that's just me -- but it sure breaks up the monotony of unloading the dishwasher to just randomly blurt out, "sah-NAH" especially if you put in a flip of the hair and a lot of teeth.

:rotfl: Oh too funny!!! I love it! I look forward to your review (and pictures) of this place!
