That's too funny about your friend!
I loved the part where she said you would have a binder all ready for her by book club. She knows you well!

"Amara bows down to Jackie's Disney genius and will now flog herself for not going directly to the Disney Oracle."
Hotel? Does Disney even have hotels? I think not.![]()
But, I'll bet you'll have her a resort soon.
Followed by another.
And another.
And then a final decision.![]()
And if you can get Animal Kingdom Lodge on the monorail, that's gonna work great for all of them.![]()
Happy planning!!!
Jill planned a trip for friends who are going this weekend. She had fun listening to them get more and more excited as time went along. The dad was opposed to a trip, but one of the daughters is in some kind of competition, so they added a few family days to that. They're all excited now - even Papa Bear.
You might want to check to see if you camera has auto shut off. If I leave my camera on after a certain amount of time (unsure of how much) it shuts itself off. With this I've never run my batteries down from forgetting to shut it off (but I have gotten some pictures of the inside of my park bag.)
I think planning trips for others is tons of fun- there are moments of envy but 99.9% fun.

<---Me! Definitely the kind of conversation I would have to be having with some of my friends! *You haven't made any ADRs? *You haven't picked a RESORT? *Are you crazy?
My next trip all started because of a Facebook status.
And, thanks, I thought the pic was pretty good. It's a funny story how it all came about too. Some friends and I were driving into DC for the fireworks and we got turned around. So we are on this bridge right by the Jefferson monument as if we were heading out of DC and suddenly, they shut down the bridge! So everyone on the bridge shut off their engines and we all got out of our cars and sat on the car roofs, or on the curbs and watched the fireworks over the top of the Jefferson Monument. Someone had a Hendrix cd and they turned it on and cranked up the volume, so we had Jimi Hendrix playing the Star-Spangled Banner as a soundtrack. One of the best experiences I've had living out here. That is something I am definitely going to miss when I move back to Texas. The crazy snow and ice we are getting right now...not so much.![]()
I live 20 minutes from Tekas and we're getting some of that snow and ice right now. Everything has been shut down the last two days and it looks like it will be tomorrow also. Thank goodness this is unusual for here.![]()
Y'all have been getting crazy weather! I know that Oklahoma State University closed down for today and probably tomorrow due to weather! Love me some OSU! That storm system is stretching from Lubbock TX all the way out here in DC. So crazy!
They do come in AA size, and I really can't speak highly enough about them. They work great for my camera.
And I'mover Nala coming for a visit. If it were that simple, I would totally take her for a little vacay, DS would love it. Alas, we live in a pet-free apartment complex. I'm allergic to cats (get allergy shots), so that's why I picked pet free.
We can have fish.![]()
Oh, Jackie, that's too funny about your friend on facebook.
Surely we all acknowledge the wisdom that is your infinite planning skills.![]()
haha that convo just had me laughing out loud lol
Thats so exciting that you get to help plan a trip for your good friend! Planning is half the fun as all us DISers/planning fanatics know![]()
about being the Disney Oracle. I love it.

Another thumbs upfor rechargeable batteries!! I used to use the lithiums, which are very good - but the rechargeables are even better because you don't have to keep buying more. They are a much better quality than rechargeables used to be. I have two sets of rechargeables but I usually keep a set of lithiums in my camera bag too.
That story about your friend is too funny!! I have a friend like that... she's going to WDW the week before us. She knows I'm the guru, but barely ever asks me any questions. It might have something to do with the fact that when she asked me about the BBBoutique I emailed her about 12 hours worth of reading material.

That's cute, CP. At least she's acknowledging your expanse of knowledge.
Recently one of DH's wives tried to engage me in a conversation about their upcoming "Trip to Disney" for spring break. Once I found out that it was off-site, most days would be at the OTHER park and Sea World, with just one day each at ( and I quote directly) "Disney, and maybe Epcot." ....my ears shut off and the conversation was over.![]()
LOVE the story Jackie---so glad that Amara came to her senses and realized the unacceptable folly of her ways!!!!! Now get cracking on her binder girl!!!
I have a friend who is going with his family next week...its so hard not to bombard them with questions like "do u know..." ""if you do this...." LOL. Happy planning!
That is grovelling at it's finest!
I used rechargeable AA's for our point and shoot camera- they're a God send. The new schnazzy camera I just got has a rechargeable lithium battery that seems to last for-absolutely-ever. I'm in hog heaven.
Hi Jackie!! I will have to go back and read all the posts but I wanted to say "long time no talk" and hi!!![]()
Hope you're having a great day!
Katie
That is hilarious!! I love when she had the new status update!! I was also LOL when you were already worried for her with no ADR'S! How fun to help plan another trip!!!

Joining.....Glad I found your thread.
She must know you too well...........she new you'd have a binder ready for her!
I'm always worried when some asks me for disney advice, that I'm going to start spouting information and won't shut up.......and then my secret would be out!![]()
HOW IN THE WORLD DID I MISS THIS CP!!! I must bow down to the greatness that is the great Disney Oracle and ask for your forgiveness for being so late....WHAT IS WRONG WITH ME!!
Well now that I have spent my entire lunch break catching up....I'm set and ready for more of your planning adventures!!
Bring it on Girlie!! I can't wait to hear and read more!!!!
WSB radio said their is a chance of snow around Atlanta early next week.![]()

You are nuts wishing for snow.![]()
I am so glad to see your pre-trip. Looks like you guys are going to have a great time!!![]()
I'm not planning any trips at this moment, but who knows....I switched jobs in August and although I like what I am doing, my income shrank a bit so my trips might not be as often.
HOWEVER, I am thinking of doing the 1/2 marathon in Jan 2010 (walking, not running!!) and there is a 7-day cruise leaving that Saturday night Jan 9th so I am thinking of doing the 1/2 and then leaving on the cruise with my sister.![]()
I would LOVE to go down this summer, but it would have to be a quick solo trip, so we'll see.
I'm so glad I "found" you again!! I'm glad to read your report and am looking forward to more!!
