Got Pixie Dust? A June 2009 PTR ~TR Link, Page 180

Awwww, Charles is just a big ol' softie! He loves Disney and puppies. Hehehe. That is just the cutest thing ever. I can't believe he stayed up with her that late! :goodvibes

He is a big ol' softie -- he just doesn't want anybody to know. ;)

Today, Nala fell asleep draped across his foot while he was on the computer, and he wouldn't get up until she woke up.

Awwww!

Your Disney' lovin' hubby is also a puppy softie! :goodvibes

You better believe it. At one point he told Chelsea, "It's only a matter of time before Nala likes me best."

Yup. That is the cutest thing EVER. :goodvibes

I thought so. Sometimes the man just knows how to make my heart melt. :goodvibes

Oh and don't deprive Chelsea of her Beloved Bo!!

:lmao: That's so adorable! Man, Charles' work friends must NEVER KNOW all that us DIS-ers do! :rotfl2: Such a softie! Disney fan, Family man, Puppy lover..... SOOOOO not a tough-man! :cool2:

I am looking forward to getting a new photo of Chelsea and Bo this summer -- she has already changed so much since this past June -- she's growing up so quickly.

Nope, not a tough man, although he tries to act like it sometimes.

wow Jackie, just got all caught up again.... 3 dogs !!! Can't wait to see pictures when you can post... My kids would go crazy over a puppy, that is all they keep asking for... When we told the kids about the babies, the first thing Emma said was she didn't want a baby she wanted a puppy!

Hope the "training" goes well and not to much to worry about from the vet...

Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas, Annette! Everything still going okay with your pregnancy? The training is going slowly, but then she wags her tail all cute at us and all is forgiven. The vet visit was great -- I am going to update all about it if I can stay awake long enough.

Alright, I seriously just snorted out loud, Jackie! That is the funniest thing ever!

Tell Connor that when I finally meet him, I'll tote his gifts from the Magi... and make him look up Magi. :rotfl:

As soon as he said that, I thought, I have to tell Lara this one!

He knows all about the Magi (just not that they bring gifts to children) -- one of our favorite Christmas songs to sing is We Three Kings (the Crash Test Dummies version). In reality, it has always been my favorite Christmas song -- I always tear up when I hear it.

Oh, how cute!!! We have a full inn at 3 dogs and a rabbit but that never stops us from taking my brother's 3 dogs and rabbit on top of that. Animals are a wonderful addition to any house. And what a lovely name. Can't wait to see pictures and here's hoping that Nala's a healthy puppy. :wizard:

We've never not had a full house of animals -- we can't seem to help ourselves. Our kids are the same way -- when our cat, Emerald, had to be put to sleep because of kidney failure, Chelsea said that the only way she would feel better was to go rescue an animal at the shelter. That's how we ended up with Bella two years ago.

I finally caught up again. That's so awesome that you got a puppy! I also have a huge soft spot where dogs are concerned, so I would not have been the voice of reason, either.

I can't wait to see pictures and I hope that the vet visit goes well!

Charles claims I really didn't want the voice of reason because I would have called someone else. :rotfl:

The vet visit went very well.

Hopefully Charles isn't going for a tough guy image, because you just ruined it!:goodvibes

Isn't that what wives are supposed to do? ;)

We would probably get one overseas. It's easier bringing a pet back to the states. Other countries tend to have stricter quarrantine laws which makes things very pricey.

Your hubby is a keeper. ;)

I knew that Great Britain had pretty strict quarantine laws, but wasn't sure about the other countries.

I guess I will keep Charles around a bit longer.

Awwwwww! Yayyy for a new puppy! :yay: I am such a dog lover and so jealous of you, 3 dogs! Not saying I don't love my little pup to death but still, 3 is way better than one. My BF and I want a pitbull sooo badly but we don't have a place to house one as neither of our parents will allow another dog in our house...I think I'll have to come live with you then :thumbsup2

I can't wait to see pictures and, I have a friend with a bulldog named Nala. I think that was a great choice for a name. That is adorable that Charles "bonded" with her! So cute!:lovestruc :cutie:

Hope the vet went well:goodvibes

We've never been good at saying no to animals. Our neighbor had to keep his son's pitbull when he was transferred to Hawaii. He was a sweet dog.

I am so mad that Chelsea left the camera at school -- keep your fingers crossed that Santa is bringing me the one I want for Christmas. Then, there will be a massive puppy photo update.

The vet's went well! :thumbsup2

How was the vet visit? And no pressure, but umm.... photos??? :goodvibes

It went really well -- I'll save all the details for the update!

Jackie---CONGRATS on the new addition to the family!!! I bet she is PRECIOUS!!! Can't wait for pictures! Your news made me laugh though---because it once again reminded me how often I feel we are alike---we are in the process of acquiring Megan's first puppy---it will be a Malti-poo, or something VERY close to that. We almost picked one up last Wednesday night but decided it would be best for us to wait until after the hustle and bustle of Christmas---we will be gone too much for our liking in consideration to potty training a puppy........so we wrapped up a box of Milkbones with a picture of a Malti-poo on it, and we are going to tell her that she gets to help us pick out a dog----YES, there will be video of her reaction......and OF COURSE, I will share!!!! Congrats on Nala!

Megan is going to have a conniption fit when she sees the Milkbones. :goodvibes Can't wait to hear all about the choosing process!

Nala has already carved out a niche for herself at our house. She was cracking us up today as she walked side-by-side with Bella all around the house. She thinks she is big stuff, but looks so funny with her little four-pound self next to Bella's 65 pounds.

I'm so glad. I'll confess I'm a worrier. And I've been worried that it hadn't gone well. So glad to hear the good news! Looking forward to the pictures. And Merry Christmas!! :goodvibes :santa:

It's been awhile since I mentioned Haddon and Ingrid, but they have still been busy. Here are some highlights of last week:

Eating leftover frosting:
ElvesEatFrosting.jpg

The next night they went to the bathroom, forgot to flush, and the water was green. I claimed it was all the frosting they had eaten.

One night they created a playlist on the computer of Christmas music and were still listening to it when the kids woke up.
ElvesListentoMusic.jpg

They played Trouble one night. How appropriate!

Thursday night, they left a message for Chelsea and Connor on the bathroom mirror.

Today Connor said he would give up all his presents if it meant the elves could stay year-long. Sweet boy, but Santa will have to take his elves home tomorrow night.

In Nala news, she had her first vet visit yesterday morning. We have been going to Dr. Moore since we moved here 11 years ago. When the receptionist put in all of our information into the computer, she had to assign Nala the number 8. Eight? So, then I had to think about which animals have been cared for by Dr. Moore.

Shadow, our black lab -- she died of a stroke after she had a tumor removed. One of the best dogs we have ever owned.

Tabasco, our old man cranky dog -- we still have him.

Darcy, another black lab -- he was not a good fit for the family, so friends that owned a ton of land took him.

Bella, our other black lab -- big baby at five years old and thinks she is a lap dog.

Emerald, one of our first cats -- she died from kidney failure. :(

Topaz, our gray kittie -- we still have her.

Bagheera, our big black panther of a cat -- my dad says he is my witch's cat.

And now Nala -- number eight.

As we were checking in, Dr. Moore walked through and stopped to say, "This is a new one." Then, he promised to be right back.

One of my big fears was that the man had said Nala was four weeks old. I hadn't thought anything of it until I told my dad. He considers himself an expert on just about everything (my mom and I call him Owl because he loves to pontificate), and he kind of freaked out on me about Nala being four weeks old. So, then I started worrying.

Well, when Dr. Moore walked in and looked at the paperwork, his first words to me were, "Why is this puppy not with her mama?" I explained the whole thing to him as Chelsea was unswaddling Nala from her fuzzy blanket.

One look and Dr. Moore said, "I don't think this pup is four weeks old." He lifted her tail, looked in her mouth, and promptly said, "Nope. She is about seven or eight weeks old." Whew! What a relief! Chelsea was amazed that Dr. Moore could tell an age so quickly. I kept trying to explain to her that it was his job to do that.

Two vaccines, a de-worming pill, a stool sample, a dose of Revolution, a complimentary bag of dog food, the awesome words, "You've got a good-looking dog there" and a $105 later, we were finished.

Dr. Moore called this morning to let us know that her sample showed no parasites. Good, good, good.

Nala continues to delight everyone. Earlier tonight she and Chelsea were stretched out on the floor of the playroom watching Mulan. Too stinkin' cute!

Oh, and when I told my mom her name, she said, "What does it mean?" Because you know, lots of the names in The Lion King mean something in Swahili -- for example, Simba means lion and Rafiki means friend. I looked Nala up and it means "beloved." She is definitely that.

Beloved is a perfect name, then, since I know Nala has found her place in your hearts and home.

I flipped through and saw the last few minutes of Mulan, too.
Thought I'd share this bit of Disney trivia: I went to high school with the producer, Barry Cook. He also did a few other Disney films. He was always big into filming, and won some awards around here. Back in that day, he was one of those long-haired oddball artsy types. As often happens, those are the ones who have these awesome jobs, while some of the 'cool' people end up making not so much of themselves. I think he's pretty much a big shot executive these days!

I spent money today, too, shopping for my wee girls. I'm grounding myself tomorrow. I'm not allowed to shop any more.

That is so sweet!

I saw a man selling lab puppies this morning and thought of you! My son asked if we could go look and I said heck no! Looking leads to buying!

Nala sounds just precious. :lovestruc I love all the names of your animals, you are good name pickers! :rotfl:

Those silly little elves, do they go home tonight? Do they do any more damage...I mean mischief tonight?

I'm so happy to hear that Nala checks out okay! Thank goodness, because she just sounds more and more like an aboslute doll. I love that she was laying on the floor watching Mulan with your daughter! So, so sweet. And Charles is going to be her favorite? Hmmm....:rolleyes1

Oh, "Beloved", that's sweet!

Glad everything's going well, CP. Have yourself a Merry Little Christmas!

To Nala, Bella, Tabasco, Topaz, Bagheera, and all the humans who live with them and care for them:
MERRY
CHRISTMAS!!!!

I hope Santa brings you many nice gifts, including much pet food!
Have a great holiday!

I'm so glad to hear that Nala did so well at the Vet.

Hope your entire family has a wonderful holiday!!

WOW! A new puppy, how cool! I love Nala, it is such a cute name! Love that the elves are still getting into trouble too!:rolleyes1 I hope you and your family have a wonderful Christmas Jackie!:goodvibes

It's funny how fitting it is and we didn't even know it!

That is really neat! Mulan has always been one of Chelsea's all-time favorite movies which I love since it is all about girl power!

I don't think I know any famous people.

I spent money today, too, shopping for my wee girls. I'm grounding myself tomorrow. I'm not allowed to shop any more.

I'm grounding myself until after Christmas! ;)

That is so sweet!

I love how perfect it is!

Never stop, never look, or you will find yourself toting one home.

Merry Christmas Jackie and family!

Merry Christmas, Laura! Come back and share about Luke's first Christmas and what the girls thought of all their presents.

Just wanted to wish you a happy holiday!!!!

Happy Holidays, Kat!

Nala sounds just precious. :lovestruc I love all the names of your animals, you are good name pickers! :rotfl:

Those silly little elves, do they go home tonight? Do they do any more damage...I mean mischief tonight?

Thanks! :goodvibes

Yep, the elves go home tonight -- no mischief since they probably don't want Santa to see it. They ate the head off the gingerbread man last night.

Fingers crossed for a digital camera so I can show you just what an absolute doll she really is. I tried to get Charles to 'fess up today by saying, "Am I going to be crushed tomorrow when there is no digital camera?" He just grinned at me and said, "You don't like me to tell you your presents ahead of time." Grrrr.

Oh, "Beloved", that's sweet!

Glad everything's going well, CP. Have yourself a Merry Little Christmas!

You too, Julia! :goodvibes

To Nala, Bella, Tabasco, Topaz, Bagheera, and all the humans who live with them and care for them:
MERRY
CHRISTMAS!!!!

I hope Santa brings you many nice gifts, including much pet food!
Have a great holiday!

Nala, Bella, Tabasco, Topaz, and Bagheera all say Merry Christmas to you, too, MeMom.

I hope Santa brings pet food -- that would be a huge help!

I'm so glad to hear that Nala did so well at the Vet.

Hope your entire family has a wonderful holiday!!

Have a great Christmas, Christina!

WOW! A new puppy, how cool! I love Nala, it is such a cute name! Love that the elves are still getting into trouble too!:rolleyes1 I hope you and your family have a wonderful Christmas Jackie!:goodvibes

Thank you! We thought our puppy looked like a Nala! Have a great Christmas, Diane!

I just wanted to say Merry Christmas to all my DIS friends! I never thought last January when I joined that I would make so many new and fun friends! You guys rock! May Santa bring all your hearts' desires tonight!

Merry Christmas! Just wanted to pop on quickly to let everyone know that Santa came through and brought me a new Canon Powershot 9 Pixel Camera. Woo hoo!

Now I just need to figure out how it works. Here is this morning's efforts including our sweet Nala.

Look at what Chelsea is reading, LL!
