Got Pixie Dust? A June 2009 PTR ~TR Link, Page 180

CP it looks like you're all guide book-ed up  I would say go for the Passporter, a small investment for a worthy cause :thumbsup2

I have the UG but do you think I should get Birnbaum's too?

Sorry to hijack your thread Jackie, but I LOVE this posters avatar!!!!!!!!!!!:cool1:

Thank you!!! Yayyy Giants! I got it off of the DISigns board but I totally forget who made it. :confused3 I sincerely apologize if the persons sees it!!

CP---loving the new guide books---a girl can never have enough!!! I hope Santa brings you a new camera---one must have MANY megapixels to capture all the glory of the Beach club!!!!

Does anyone read "The Complete Walt Disney World" by Julie & Mike Neal. I love mine. I have the 2008 and my 2009 edition is slated to ship on November 30th.

CP --- I hope I a digital camera is on your christmas list! :goodvibes

I have last year's edition -- that was one that I was trying to decide if I needed to get it again.

Target has a pretty one in the Black Friday sale papers for the right price, but I don't know if I want to venture out into the madness.

Oh, my, look at all those guidebooks!

I think I just drooled a little. ;)

I didn't buy any last year, but you have me sorely, sorely tempted. :lmao:

Oh, TK, I think you are overdue for some new guidebooks. :thumbsup2

My DD9 has pretty much destroyed my 2008 edition because she's read it so many times! I can't wait for the new one!

It is definitely the most gorgeous of all the guidebooks. I love all the fun finds and storylines they include.

I just bought The Unofficial Guide and this is my first time reading it. Now that I've seen your other guidebooks I'm thinking about buying more!

One can never have too many guidebooks. ;)

I bought it from Barnes & Noble. :goodvibes

Do you have the Barnes and Noble discount card? I always wonder if I would get my money's worth from it.

I have the UG but do you think I should get Birnbaum's too?

The Birnbaum is nice from the standpoint that it is the official guidebook and has lots of pictures. However, if you want another guidebook to complement the UG, get the Complete Guide or the Passporter.

Totally Birbaums for the coupons. I must have coupons. Even if I don't use 'em. LOL.

And next trip- I'm totally getting the Passporters. You NEED the Passporters. Esp. if you wrote in your last one.

Do you know I have never managed to use any of the Birnbaum coupons???

I do think I might need the Passporters, but I had a moment of "fiscal responsibility" and thought maybe I should just make another payment on the trip.

I LOVE Disney Travel books:thumbsup2 We bought the boys the Kids Guide to WDW for Christmas. Matthew had the 2008 one and he loved it!:goodvibes I have thought of getting the 2009 Passporter too:confused3

Our kids love that one, too. Also, check out the Guide to the Magic for Kids -- it is WONDERFUL. There are places for the kids to right in it, there are stickers to put on the attractions after they ride them, and all sorts of little activities and checklists -- it is the BEST guidebook I have ever found for the kids.

How many megapixels is yours, Jen? I am never sure what I should be getting when it comes to digital cameras.

I have to buy the Birnbaum's guide every year too. It just makes me feel better to know that i have the updated version. ;) This is the first year I have bought the unofficial guide. I totally agree with you, this one is jam packed full of information for addicts like me. .....and you.:thumbsup2

I am always afraid that I am missing something important if I don't buy new guidebooks. Then, I wouldn't be in the know and that would make me feel left out. :rotfl:

Yep, that pretty much makes me an addict. ;)

:lmao: :rotfl: :rotfl2:

But how do you tell that the "gently used" copy hasn't been written in?

:teacher: Well, retailers are unable to sell returned, perfectly good copies over the internet because of their now "used" status. They then have to sell them to the "second-hand" market, regardless of their condition of whether or not they are truly "second-hand" or not. The best way to choose a "used" copy is to go by the seller's reputation as as a seller.

One must also be sure to rate their sellers when purchasing through Amazon (and ebay) as well, to keep our communities honest!

;) Can you tell I'm an avid contributor and user of Tripadvisor as well? Just wrote a review for Clarion Maingate, as a matter of fact!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING, EVERYONE! I hope everyone has a wonderful day with family and friends! I know I am looking forward to spending the day with my loved ones, eating lots of yummy food, and watching the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade!

In the spirit of this Disney-obsessed PTR, I have decided to list what I am most thankful for at WDW.

1. Dole whips and gingerbread men with Mickey ears.
2. Haunted mansions, spinning teacups, and mountains that splash.
3. Gift shops and character buffets.
4. The smell of oranges on Soarin'.
5. Monorails that spout the only Spanish sentence I know.
6. A castle and pixie dust.
7. Seeing the magic reflected in my family's eyes.
8. Being able to act like a kid again.

What are you most thankful for at WDW?

Good ones, Jordan! So glad that you found my PTR! :goodvibes

Happy Thanksgiving, Jackie!

1. I'm grateful to be GOING to WDW for the first time! How's that for a short and sweet list! :rotfl:

Happy Thanksgiving, Lara! You are so going to love every single thing about WDW -- and your children are just going to be in awe!

Happy Thanksgiving Jackie! :)

Happy Thanksgiving, Carissa! I hope you, your DH, and your boys have a great day!

Happy Thanksgiving Jackie!

In the spirit of all things Disney and not necessarily Disney WORLD:

I'm thankful for:

1-The DIS! and all the great peeps I've met on here!
2-How cheesy my DH became at Disney
3-How happy my kids are at Disney- World or Land...
4-Soarin' and ToT
5-How silly and childlike a character can make ME feel!
6-The way planning a Disney vacation is more exciting then planning any other vacation destination.
7-That Walt Disney himself is such an inspirational man and story. If he wasn't I'm not sure Disney would be such an awesome place.
8-That both DLR and WDW are in warm places. Because I live in such a cold place 8 mos out of the year and that's important to me.
9-The sight of a mouse makes me scream.
10-My kids are well-trained in sighting hidden mickeys.

Happy Thanksgiving Jackie!

I'm thankful for.....
1. The wonder of the castle
2. Restful rides on the watertaxies between DHS and Epcot
3. DVC points
4. Less drowsy drammamine that allows me to ride my favorites...
5. My favorites, EE, TOT, Soarin, MS, and BTMRR
6. My DH who loves Disney so much because I do!
