Got Pixie Dust? A June 2009 PTR ~TR Link, Page 180

Awesome! You'll be busy with school winding down for the next few weeks, so that should make time pass by quickly. It seems to go really fast when you hit the 30 day mark. At least it always does for us.

It does seem to be flying already -- when I think about everything that still must be done, I get a little overwhelmed. It's for a good cause though.

Yea! 45 days, with the end of the school year it does go so quick!

Only four more weeks left! And really only three weeks of instruction since I give my final on the last Monday!

HOLY COW!!!!!!!!!! That is SO exciting!!! I cannot believe how close it is getting for all of us!:thumbsup2 I have to ask you and maybe you can be my scout since you will be there first;) Are you changing the way you normally tour the Magic Kingdom because of Space Mountain being down? I have been trying to come up with a game plan and I am struggling a bit!:confused3 Thanks!:goodvibes

Anything you want me to scout, let me know! I probably won't really change anything with Space Mountain being closed -- Charles and Chelsea are the only ones that ride it, and they like to do that right after the fireworks. I wonder how it will affect crowds at Splash and Big Thunder though...:confused3

Diane... you sound like me, I think I will have a billion questions for her about her trip after she gets back but before I go....

Just give me a list and I will gladly answer everything! :goodvibes

WOO HOO for 45 days!! :thumbsup2

The next two things I am looking forward to are our travel documents and starting the countdown calendar!

45 days?! Wow, I'd been thinking in terms of months and weeks, but not days. That's so exciting!!:yay: Does the final paperwork come now?

Probably in another week or so. I can't wait until May 6th when we really start talking in days, not months! :thumbsup2

45 days! That's almost nothing! Woohoo! :cool1::banana:

I hope it flies by!

Today is a day of celebration 45 days to Disney.:dance3:

Today you are more than half way through with testing, no more teaching for the test until next year. :woohoo: Lets have fun learning.:teacher:

Thank you! We finished testing today, and now I can start my "fun" units that I always close the year out with -- I am so excited!

I love all things GWTW. The first time I went to MGM (that is what is was called back then) was in 91 and I bought a GWTW recipe booklet and a book about the movie. I lost the recipe booklet but I still have the movie book. I always wanted to have been born and raised in the South. When my dh is ready to transfer one of the places we can move is Atlanta. I keep trying to talk him into it.

I do love the South -- I can't imagine living anywhere else. When my parents moved to Cleveland, Ohio, after I had moved here, I remember visiting them and ordering sweet tea at a restaurant. The waitress said, "We only have unsweetened."

Your trip will be here before you know it.:cool1::cool1::cool1:

Overall the year has just flown by!

yippy!!! I didn't realize how close your trip was to mine! but it will go by fast... this last month has went by fast.. it seems now that hit 30 days.. well now this week is taking forever.. hehe but its because I'm literally counting down days down! hehe ;)

The week is over (almost)! I know you must be even more anxious than I am since you are leaving sooner -- I will be so impatient by next month.

I just typed a long note back and the stupid thing didn't go through. I was saying how Sidney prefers Boone Hall over the others too. He says there's more to do but I haven't been to the plantations in more than 20 years! I hope to go down and do a little vacation...sometimes you can get more out of your own area than going thousands of miles away. I love historic downtown. It's one of my favorite places in the World! Do you think you'll ever move back? I love SC. I'd like to have another house in FL but home is here. :cloud9:

Don't you hate when the DIS goes all haywire like that? I just talked to my best friend from high school this week and she reiterated her standing invitation to come stay with her -- I think we will this summer -- maybe in July. I love downtown -- even though those cobblestone streets are murder on my car's suspension. ;) I am a Carolina girl at heart and want to move back, but teachers' pay in SC is atrocious. I would have to take a huge paycut -- like $15,000 a year less than I make now -- that wouldn't pay for my house on Daniel Island that I would want.

BRAIN DRAINING TESTING = BOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 45 DAYS UNTIL DISNEY = YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :yay::yay:
with the end of the school year it will come before you know it!

That is UH-mazing. the end always come so fast! NOT like a mamogram ;):rotfl::rotfl:

Testing is done and tomorrow marks 6 weeks until Disney! I am thrilled by both! :thumbsup2

Yay! 45 days til Disney! How many school days left? It's come to that for me....
I just need this semester to be done!

How much longer on testing?

20 days and no more testing! Woo hoo! :woohoo:

WOW! 45 days. Time has really flown (for me anyway... maybe not so much for you :rolleyes1). Can't believe it is 45 days til not only Disney but the end of school and a nice long summer vacation. SO jealous! :goodvibes

I am so looking forward to summer vacation -- it is almost time to start stockpiling my books for the hours we will spend at the pool -- oh, I am giddy just thinking about it!

You need some cheap (ie Aunt) babsitting. I always know when I get that call from my brother that he's looking for a babysitter and movie passes. :lmao: Lucky for him he has cute kids and I'm a pushover for any chance I get to go hang out with them for awhile.

Your nieces are so precious! I am surprised your brother doesn't make them call and ask you -- you wouldn't be able to say no to them EVER.

Depending on how much of the Star Wars stuff you want to see I'd recomend going a bit later in the day if your not overly concerned with it. I was at MGM back in 2006 for the first few days of Star Wars weekend. We were curious, but didn't want to deal with crazy crowds since it was our last full park day. We went in a bit later in the day. (I'm guessing 3ish, maybe a bit later) and the crowd had thinned out enough that it wasn't overwhelmingly nuts. There were still lots of people walking around in starwars costumes (both CM's and guests), and shows going on back near the Star Wars ride. It was actually alot of fun.

We found this to be true, also!

I bought the same books when I went to MGM the first time back in 92. I still have the cookbook, but don't know what in the world happened to the GWTW book. I was in the middle of a major GWTW thing when I went on that trip. I had been seriously considering moving to Atlanta, but I was too much of a wimp to move that far away from home and away from my family and friends.

Are the recipes in the cookbook any good or is it just fun from a vintage standpoint?

I would love to move to Atlanta. I would be so much closer to Mickey then. We actually don't live near any family right now so that isn't a big deal for me. All of our family is in Maine, New York State or Montreal. We live in Omaha right now.

Only a 7 and a half hour drive from Atlanta to WDW -- and an hour by plane.

Happy 44 days!!!!

Thank you, Julez! Now it's 43 -- so close yet still so far! ;)

 for 45 days, which is now 44! :woohoo:

Thank you, Brook! Have you seen the pictures of Kidani that are being posted? G-O-R-G-E-O-U-S!

Good Morning CP.:wave2: Today is Friday, the last day of testing :cool1:, and you are at 43 days!!!!!! WooHoo!!!!!:banana::banana:

Hi!!! Testing is officially over -- all my students have disappeared outside with their homeroom teachers, I get to DIS and update, and it's Friday! Such a wonderful feeling!

I'm thinking Atl for DD's birthday. A stop at the American Girl bistro or whatever they call it....back to the Dino museum (did it a few years ago and it was da bomb!) And who knows what else....

Have you been to the new World of Coke yet? Very cute! Plus, there's the aquarium right across the park -- but you have a big aquarium in MB, don't you? American Girl Place is very neat -- the little bistro couldn't be any cuter!

Can you believe it is already the end of April and the end of our month at DHS???

So, I have to finish up with everything, besides rides, that we want to do.

Of utmost importance will be the food:
Hollywood Brown Derby: I have already decided I want to order the Cobb Salad and grapefruit cake. For my drink I plan on ordering a Hollywood. It is the meal I am most looking forward to during the entire week. I was also reading in the Complete Guide to Walt Disney World, and it says you can request a "special phone call" and they will bring a phone to your table. I am going to ask about this when we check in -- can you imagine the photo ops with Chelsea and her "star" self taking the call??? I hope they are still doing it.

Backlot Express: We love it here. It is usually quiet, the burgers are good, and there is a fixins' bar. We are planning on eating here Saturday night.

Backlot Canteen (near Studio Catering Co.): There is a drink called the Red Hero with my name on it. Maybe if I have enough Red Heroes, I will brave the Tower of Terror. :rotfl:

I have a list of photographs I want to take while we are at DHS:
The Muppet Show Doors in the Muppets gift shop.
The kids hamming it up on the Streets of America.
The kids posing with celebrity handprints.
Bo -- of course!
There are crates to the left of Min and Bill’s addressed to Rick in Casablanca and Scarlett O'Hara -- I need to find those.
Eddie Valient’s Office
The Roger Rabbit Billboard

As far as shopping, I always like to stop in Sid's and browse, and any other store that catches my eye. ;)

Finally, we want to make sure we catch some of the Star Wars Weekend fun on our first day.

And here's a special treat -- ILuvCrush (Paula) designed a shirt just for Chelsea to wear when she is reunited with her Bo. Isn't it awesome???

Have a great weekend!

Your nieces are so precious! I am surprised your brother doesn't make them call and ask you -- you wouldn't be able to say no to them EVER.

He does. He's no dummy. :rotfl: I always know I'm in for it when I pick up the phone and get one of those sweet little voices saying hi. I have no will power whatsoever. They know it too which doesn't help my cause.

Are the recipes in the cookbook any good or is it just fun from a vintage standpoint?

I think the only thing I've ever made from there was a Scarlett O'Hara drink. :thumbsup2 If I remember correctly it had lots of very heavy, cooked in grease and coated with fattening sauces stuff. I think the book was originally published back in 1939 or so when the movie came out so you can guess what they thought was a good, healthy meal.

I love backlot express too. I loe the veggie sandwich!

That's great. I love it!

I'll have to remember to make a list of photographs I want to take. Great idea! Wow, Paula did a great job with the tshirt. So cute! I hope Chelsea wears it. I'm sure she'd get lots of compliments.:thumbsup2

I love the tshirt! It is so cute. Have you shown it to her yet?

I love Hollywood Studios. Just love it. I love that you have a drink list, it's so much fun to read!

You are going to LOVE Brown Derby! :lovestruc

That t-shirt is so awesome! She will get so much attention from the CM's when she wears it. Too cool.

WOW CP, that T-shirt is awesome!!!! I can't wait to see Chelsea in it and hear what kind of reactions she gets

Jackie, that shirt is hilarious! Sooo cute. Do you all do very many shows at DHS? I'm trying to plan our DHS day and am having trouble with all of the different show times. Which are your favorites? :)

I love the shirt!! Paula - you are the coolest! I can't wait to hear the reaction when Chelsea wears it and see the pics. Bo will be beside himself. ;)

Hey- had the exact same meal (incl the Hollywood) at the Brown Derby. :thumbsup2

I'm anxious to hear what you think of Star Wars Weekends.

I am SOOOO far behind on all of my PTRs and TRs. I love the shirt that Paula designed for your DD!! I had no idea that she was a DISigner?? So you're under 45 days now, huh??? It's getting closer, and closer.

Love love love the shirt! You have some great pics planned for HS- I might have to steal some. We could start a big BO thread here on DIS with everyone paying him hommage!

That phone call thing sounds awesome! I really hope they still do it, it would be a great surprise! I LOVED my meal there and vow to get the cobb salad next time for sure!

And that shirt is just priceless!!!!
