Wait. The new hotel does not include Express Pass? Talk about being a second class citizen.

Universal can't extend the express pass to cabana bay ... The one you get as an onsite guest at the delux resorts is the equivalent to a golden fast pass ... It's access to the express line for every single ride that offers it as many times as you want all day long ... No window. Even the ones you pay for only allow you one use per express pass ride ... And they are pretty expensive. I can see them offering that one to cabana bay at some point ... But if they gave them the unlimited one ... Those express lines would get pretty long. I enjoyed my stay at Universal ... went for the first time last August ... But I will never go unless I am staying at one of the three delux hotels..

I had no idea the one you buy was different. I paid for them last year and felt it was a bit of a rip-off because you could only use it once. I saved a few bucks staying offsite and buying the express pass but had I known they were "golden" I may have ponied up for the $350+ hotel room.

Yeah - I'm an uber planner so I spent a lot of time on that board before going... I got one annual pass so I could get the room discount (not available for all dates - so secure the discounted rate before bothering to buy the annual pass) - so we paid under $200/night. We stayed for 4 days and really felt like VIPs with those passes .... But I think I would hate going to universal without them!

We went to Universal last August without express passes. I think we designed a great methodology for riding with minimal waits. I looked into staying onsite but was not going to pay $300 per night.

You can buy the "unlimited" express pass which allows the express line as many times as you want all day. By the time you pay for it though, you would have been cheaper by getting a room at one of their delux resorts.

A pin code is a numeric code that is assigned specifically to you that allows you to book whatever discount/special is being offered. For example, some here on the Disboards receive them for free dining, resort discounts. The one I received from Universal was emailed to me. I think they are sometimes snail mailed.

We DID get one after our 1st Disney Cruise, and we weren't able to rebook on board for the 10% off incentive, but it came about 2 months later in the mail anyway!!!! Disney was smart, as a result of that coupon code (which only 6 of us used), 11 of us sailed AND went to WDW with them!

I got a pin code, too, for Cabana Bay. There is no way that I could handle the Florida heat in the summer time, though.

I decided to check my email after reading this post and I got one for Universal, too! If I hadn't already booked Disney for August I may have considered it! Too bad it's only for Cabana Bay, I would much rather stay at one of the deluxe resorts for the unlimited express pass! I would even consider Cabana bay if they offered the one that only allowed you to use it once per ride, it would be better than nothing!
