Got my Visa today!!

I had applied by phone about 3 days into the original promotion. We received 1 of our 2 cards today. Does anyone know if the 0% promotion will be valid on a trip that is already booked (deposit paid) that I owe the balance on? We plan on the UPH passes.

From what I am reading, it seems those who applied by phone are receiving their cards more quickly than those who applied online. Thank you Helenk for the number... I just called and got the message that my application is under review as well. It said I would be notified in 7-10 business days of their decision. I would like to have it before March 23 to take on vacation. That way I can use it, and use the money I have saved in the bank to pay it right off... plenty of points, no interest fee... free pin!

Guess I will be running out to the mailbox everyday anyway!;)

I applied online about 3 days after it started and got mine last Saturday. I wonder if they are processing by region, or maybe the fact that Ive had a bank one card before?

I applied on-line, too, just a few days after it was announced and got mine Saturday. (Didn't receive any correspondence asking for anything additional, either.)

Thanks for the numbers, I called and I'm approved, I should get it within 7 days!! I also applied online, about a week or so ago.:D

We got a letter from them today and my grandfather was turned down. He is not happy at all!! He has exceptional credit and nothing bad on his credit report, so we are going to call to see what is going on. Like I posted earlier, he even has the Disney Credit Card.

momof2OH... Sorry to hear about that! Hopefully you will get that straightened out. Now, I am kind of worried if "under review" really does mean denied!

I hope mine is in the mail when I get home! I did get a message on my machine saying I was approved, but that my name was too long to fit on the card (I had put my middle initial on it, and my name is really long). :teeth:

Thank you for the phone number to call- I just called, and I'm another person who they say is "under review". Maybe I'm just a pessimist, but I'm sort of inclined to think that this means denied. Usually if other credit card companies tell me that, that's what it means- they just want to have time to send you the letter and not argue with you over the phone LOL. But who knows, Disney may be different, don't put away those hopes yet I guess. I'm not that upset anymore when it happens, because I've sort of grown to know that they don't always just go strictly by a good credit report- often they seem to like certain types of spending habits or financial backgrounds, and just use some little thing as an excuse if you don't fit into the profile that they're looking for. Some banks seem to like my profile and some don't, so I don't lose sleep over it. It would have been nice to have one with Mickey on it though, I kind of really wanted that one, but I knew Bank One had never approved me for anything before, so I was expecting the worst. If it had been Citibank, I would have had the card in my wallet already, because they approve me for just about anything LOL.

Since this isn't a Disney run operation... it is probably a Bank One thing to do! I have heard they are not the easiest people with whom to deal anyway.

If "under review" means denied, oh well... I really didn't need the card anyway.

I too have the Disney Credit Card, as well as the Target Card, and had absolutely no problems getting them right in the store. I don't know why Bank One has to make it so difficult! I agree with freediverdude... some banks will deny you if you have too many inquiries about your credit, you haven't been in your current residence long enough, or any number of things that other places wouldn't even blink an eye at. As we are getting ready to buy a house... of course, we have inquiries into our credit!

It must be a Bank One thing. Like I stated previously, my grandfather has the best credit. He has lived in the same house for 33 years and it's paid for. He worked at Ford Motor Co. Has had the same checking account at the same bank for 33+ years. Has hardly any inquires on his credit report. He really is quit mad about this. He plans on calling them tomorrow morning to see exactly why he was denied.

Mine arrived Monday. I was a little annoyed to see that the 6 month free interest for Disney vacations only applied if you purchased package with Length of Stay passes. We have AP's and won't be able to take advantage of that. We will be breaking the card in this week at WDW!

momof2OH, I got turned down too. I had two late payments to the same credit card with-in a year. One my fault (had a senior moment and filed the bill with the already paid bills!!) and the second one due to a delay in the mail. So, not only did Providian jack up my interest rate, I get denied a Disney Bank One card!!! I am paying them off and cancelling the account. Hopefully, I can reapply at a later date, but I won't get the From Day One status. Hrrmmmpphhhh.

If you get turned down for a card, do they tell you the reason why you were turned down?

Well...my grandfather called. He is so angry with these people that now I don't think he even wants to deal with them and is glad he doesn't have the card. Anyhow...bascily the reason why he was denied is because he pays everything off right away. He never has a balance on any credit card (doesn't matter what he charges) and has never late. He called and talked to someone else and was basicly told that credit card companies do not like customers that do this. They aren't making money off of you (interst/ possible late charges) therefore, some don't like to extend credit to these types of people.

I was thinking that there was no way I'd get turned down, but I'm in the same boat as your grandfather. I charge almost everything I buy (for the rewards) but I never carry a balance and I am never late with my payment. So they probably view me as someone that is going to cost them money, because all they do is process my account. I called again today and I'm still under review.

Got mine yesterday and I transfered my balance from a higher interest card as well. Will break it in at Disneyland this Friday.

A word of caution on balance transfers:

When you transfer a balance you usually get a very low rate. If you make any additional purchases, any payments made go against the low rate balance first. If the entire balance is not paid, any new purchases will accrue interest at the higher rate, and payments will not lower the new purchase balance. This can amount to very high interest charges that continue to compound on any new purchases until the entire low interest balance is paid off.
