got docs for 5/16- stateroom 5006

Gty cat 8 got us no upgrade. Ah well I'll be on the ship for the first time and can't wait.

Room is 5006. Above the theatre and staterooms above us.
Shouldn't be too bad because we shouldn't be sleeping in the room during show times. It's good that not many rooms on that hall except we are single adults and worried a bit about the kid areas on that deck. We don't mind kids just rude ones like running through the halls, knocking on doors, etc...

Anyone have any thoughts on our area of the ship for feeling the waves? traffic? ease to drink stations?

It'll be a long haul to the secret aft deck but we'll probably need the exercise anyway!

Don't be too sure about no upgrade just yet! we didn't get one when we received docs. We are cruising 4/24 and just got the word from the TA yesterday (4/5) about upgrade from cat 11 to cat 8. (we had a specific cabin booked, not gty)

We were just on the 3/27 and we stayed in 6006. Traffic was not a problem, you may feel some of the waves in the front of the ship, but we had 4-8ft waves which is not bad. The distance to the clubs and theatre was good. A quick elevator ride to the pools!

Wow! You already got your docs! We leave on the May 20th Wonder so I guess our docs should be coming soon.

We had to reschedule this cruise from last summer due to a last minute family emergency but I wanted to let you know that our DU travel agent called 2 days before we were to depart with the news of an upgrade from a Cat 8 to a Cat 6. So don't give up hope yet!

There are some of us on the May 8th sailing still waiting. I think they come quicker if you booked directly through Disney. Not sure though.
I just know I want mine to get here!!!!!!!!!

Thanks everyone for the encouragement but I'm still going to assume that room will be our heaven for 4 days.

bhawks9: Thanks for the area description. On the Wonder everything should be closer than the Voyager RCCL ship we first cruised on last year.


donmil723: Wow 2 days beforehand with a balcony upgrade! I wouldn't play bingo on the ship for fear that my luck had been concentrated on the upgrade.

DisneyForLife: I booked with Merrie at DU and we fully paid at the last minute though we changed from 7 day land/sea to 4 day Wonder with our own land reservations. So we really only booked around late February.

We booked ours through a TA and got our docs Mon.(4/5) for our 5/16 cruise. They should be there soon.

We are a group sailing on the May 8th Western. My family lives in California and we booked our own Air. Our docs came on Tuesday. The other family members from Chicago - who I booked Air for - have not received their doc yet, but DCL said they mailed them on 4/07 (so they should be receiving them shortly). If you booked Air with Disney, I believe your docs come later on average - Mike

This is interesting. My husband and I received our docs yesterday for our cabin which we booked through DVC. My MIL and DD who we booked directly through DCL haven't received theirs yet. We sail on May 15th. Still have plenty of time for theirs to arrive.

We are going on the 5/1 cruise and just got our docs yesterday. We didn't book through Disney but a TA. I am sure they will be on their way soon!!
