got carried away

That is what I am looking at getting....the G15. I have gone back and forth between the G15 and the Sony RX100, but I think the G15 is winning out.

I have a DSLR but want a carry around camera that has many of the features of a DSLR. My DSLR is bulky and heavy and doesn't have video (Canon 40d). I really should sell it.

A friend of mine just got the Nikon 3100 for similar reason (size plus manual/auto options).

GL camera shopping!

Hmmm.....that looks more like a regular dslr size.....still too bulky to carry around all the time for me.

ETA: I think I may be looking at the wrong camera. On Amazon the 3100 showed up as a full dslr. Did you mean the Nikon V1? That seems to have the same name on some websites.

Does she like it?

I feel like I stuck to my budget, though I didn't count to the exact penny.

Including stocking stuffers, I probably spent about $75 on the baby (he has no idea what this is all about) and about $200 on each of my older girls.

I also spent about $100 on DH but that money comes out of my "personal" account so I don't really count it.

We have two boys - 12 and 10! Until about 2 years ago, i always tried to spend $150.00 or less on each. The last couple of years we've spent about $200-$250 on each. I think as they get older its harder as they want bigger ticket items!

I do put away money all year into a "holiday" account. Including extended family/friends/postman/etc. i think we've spent about $800.00! This includes my gifts not my husbands.

Also i go out shopping after Christmas and put things away for teachers gifts and extras..

I also have a NYE party every year and that costs me about $150 or so a year -- this year i seemed to go overboard on food/etc so it will cost me about $250-300!

I hear ya! We had X amount set aside. I spent that and then some. Happens so easily. Each year I say next year I'm going to put the Christmas fund on a prepaid card so that I only use that. It's so easy to over spend when it's coming out of the checking account along with our everyday money.

Our trip to Disney was supposed to be the main Christmas present, but...my boys made out pretty well other than that. I bought way more than I anticipated, BUT I can justify it by saying at least half of the stuff I bought on clearance.

:lmao: I was the same way. when my kids where babies I got so much joy out of buying cut little "nothings" for them that I always blew my budget and true to the nature of kids, they both had more fun with the box and wrapping paper!!

I'm way over on food budget, the family is growing and I guess I got caught off guard this year,,,oh well I'll try harder next year.

Happy Holidays
