Hi everyone,
I just got my tax rebate and it was £1216:goodvibes I think I just found my WDW money for August, not trying to show off i promise, i'm, just so happy

:dance3: :dance3: :dance3:

I also got my re-mortgage through last week so I am now worry-free, can start making improvements to my house and bring it up to "modern standard" as the estate agents like to say. I'm so excited and happy, things are really turning around here. Just wanted to share with my friends:grouphug:

great news Claire, I am really pleased to hear that things are taking a turn for the better

Excellent news Claire:thumbsup2 Really chuffed for you:yay:

Thanks great news:thumbsup2 What plans have you got for the house?

What plans have you got for the house?

ooohh where to start? i need a new kitchen and bathroom for starters, will be ikea for kitchen as my friends installs for a living so is happy to do this for free:goodvibes I also need new carpet throughout, so am going for laminate through downstairs, and a new hard-wearing carpet for upstairs. the garden is all grass, so i would like to landscape this a little, maybe decking, then there is new sofas to buy, they have had 10 years of good use but the leather is howing its age and now i want the slouchiest sofa I can find, and a fresh coat of paint for most of the house....phew!!! I have a budget of £5000, so will be watching many make-over shows to get ideas, its just so exciting to finally be able to do all the things that needed doing and make it from just a house to a real home for my family.

and of course at the end of all of this, i will have to have a DIS open-house to show off my work, what do you all think?;)

Sounds lovely. I have been looking for a new sofa for ages but can't find anything I like.:confused3 I sometimes think I am too fussy.

All your plans sound great. Will we get to see it when it is finished?

definately, if i don't post pics here then i will on my website with the link so you can get to it, and I was semi-serious about the open house;)

Fantastic Claire :thumbsup2

Great news Claire, can't wait to see the finished result!:)

WOW!! wish i had a tax rebate like that!! Ive almost finished "moderising" the house we bought and so im totally skint now!

That's great news Claire. You'll have loads of fun doing up your house but by the end it'll drive you mad, luckily though you'll be off to Florida at that point!

i would love to come and see your new house Claire:) i way too nosy for my own good

thats fabulous news Claire, so glad to hear its all finally coming right for you. I am in the market for a new sofa too but unfortunately the only one I've seen that I like is £1700 and I need 2 so I don't think thats going to happen any time soon!

Great news Claire

You could bring the before pics. to the meet:) Are you going to have a Disney Room?????

Are you going to have a Disney Room?????

i don't know if you remember a thread on disney bathrooms a while ago, but I have quite seriously looked into doing my bathroom disney style, it is not a cheap range but not top of the line either, and as I have my own en-suite i can pass this off as a family /kids bathroom:cool1:
I have a friend living in what was my toy room at the moment and when she eventually moves out then this will become a den for my kids to have their friends round so this is another contender, i would love to have a monorail running round the top, pin boards and some really nice park artwork on the walls, so this room is the strongest contender. as for the rest of the house, every room has a little touch already, from mickey soaps, mickey/minnie salt and pepper shakers, kitchen mitts, pin board etc.
I'm sure as i go along, there will be disney influences everywhere. I did think about an under the sea bedroom for DD7 and a space command centre for the boys, Buzz Lightyear style, with planets and glow stars......
Whoops got carried away there, as you can see I am full of disney ideas for my home:lmao:
