I think I am going to try to hint at one for my B-Day . Which is hard to hint for as we just had valentines day and our wedding anniversary. My b-day is in early march and we are in the middle of a MAJOR rehab of the master bedroom so asking for a $350 scrapbook machine now is a little nuts . Anyone else think so .
I love to scrap just started last year and i have SO Much to scrap I have to get back to it after all the craziness that is going on here . I use lots of stamps (stampin up parties were big here for a while ) and lots of stickers . I am thinking that this may keep the cost down on the stickers .
Well, remember I'm still a Cricut newbie. I'll try to give you a list of both, but because it's from my first impressions. I too have a Sizzix (the older model).
Pros of Cricut
-Less labor to cut
-Many more cutting options
-Lots of fun to use
-More options from one cartridge than a die.
-It's easier to punch a button for a letter or shape, than to change dies

Cons (kind of) of Cricut
-About the only thing I can think of is cost because the stores won't take coupons for any of it (not even replacement mats or blades).
-You have to replace the mat and blade on a regular basis. The only thing I've replaced on the Sizzix in 3 years is the cutting board.
-On a Sizzix, you have the embossing option, which is why I'll keep the Sizzix.
I use Joann's and Michael's coupons for replacement mats and blades. They all exclude machines and carts but I've never had anyone question the mats or blades.
The good thing about cartridges is that there are many, many places to buy them online for lower prices. You can get some of the early releases for $35 + shipping now.
I chose not to purchase a Sizzix because I did not like how time consuming it was to cut out a word. I hated all of the die switching, lining up, etc. that you have to do with it. That's what I love about my Cricut! You literally type in your word and the machine cuts everything out for you while you are doing other things. I also think it has a shallow learning curve so it is very easy to be productive quickly. I very, very quickly fell in love with mine and still say that it changed the way I scrap.
My Michael's wouldn't use the coupon. She said they don't take them on any Cricut product. I may try another Michael's in the area to see if they will.

I am going to save on my own to get the bug !! I figured if i take the $5 a day I spend on Starbucks and cut it down to maybe once or twice a week that by the summer I should have enough for the bug .
It is such a hard habbit to break too . I live in NYC they are everywhere you go . It is so bad here that we even have them in our Stop and Shop supermarkets . Now how am I supposr to pass that up ?? I am hooked and I hope I will not look like this after a few days of no starbucks . I think i need the patch like the one in Meet the Robinsons .
I have been heming and hawing about getting a Cricut. Finally my DH went with me to Walmart last night. I was all set to talk my self out of it. He said what all do you need? Well almost $300 later I have everthing I need.
I think he felt guilty b/c we just spent $500 on the deductible for his truck. Some kind person backed into him and didn't leave a note. He also stated I need to finish our scrapbook from our 2007 WDW trip before we go again in Sept 2008!!!
