Yesterday I got a Phone call from WDW. A lady asked if we had made reservations for our dining coming up this Sept 26th-Oct4th..I said why do you ask. and she said that there are some problems with having few slots left and people are wanting the better places to eat. I told her I made ours back about 3 months ago and just had them confirmed 5 days ago so were good to go. She told me something about offering extra points for snacks, I have been told for counter service or a pin thingie? She never asked me to give all my dining reservations up but I got the feeling there was a hint there? But Thanks to all you Wonderful WDW Fans I think I now understand what she had meant.. Thank You All Again.

I didn't get any call and I booked directly with Disney.

I did not get the call, but have read other threads about the same call... except the reservations were in front of the person. I sure hope mine are all set. I had my TA make them for me, thank goodness for her! She got me everything I wanted, back a few months ago....

At the end of July, I called Disney Travel to make sure a request was on my reservation. At the end of the conversation, the CM asked if I had my dining reservations made. I told her yes and she replied great. Then went on to wish me a great trip.

We leave Tuesday and I was called this evening. The CM said that the dining plan has been very, very popular and she wanted to know if I had made reservations in the restaurants for my upcoming trip. I told her I had made ADR's several months ago and had one for each night of my trip. She said great and wished me a magical trip. She said they are calling all the dining package people to give a head's up concerning the dining plan since many people do not realize reservations can, and sometimes, must be made. Also, many people truly do not understand ADR's and think all they need to do is show up. Of course, they are not the ones reading these boards... ;) .....

I really do not think she wanted you to give up your ADR's. They now have in place an alternate offer that gives you additional snack options, and/or little gifty things for using a TS for a CS meal since so many people seem not to be able to get TS service. Maybe that is what she meant.

Babs

Babs, I am sure that's what was meant, she did express that they are being bomb-barded by guest's that are not able to get the TS they want or the time they want. Wow! I don't think they were prepared for the number of people that jumped on the band-wagon..

True. I tried two months back to get Le Cellier and Ohana's to no avail and I still can't. Well, I could get Ohana's but I'd be eating after 9pm.

BTW, I just got the free dining this past Monday after a long drawn out battle with AAA (long story; they didn't tell me about it when I booked my trip).

there was a message on my machine when i came home from work last week. said they were just checking as a reminder to be sure i had made all of our adrs said i need to be sure to do it right away if i hadn't already, & if i had already made them to have a magical vacation. (we've had ours for months)

I keep tweaking our ADRs...but made most of them months ago... could not get Le Cellier at all.... and have a not so good time for Chef MIckey's....

Glad I've got what I've got!

In case anyone is interested I've heard that they recently added lunch to Chef Mickeys... and quite a few guests are going to Le Celliers for Lunch also.

Yes, I saw that if you will exchange one table service meal for a counter service meal they will give you 2 snack credits (must be used at same together)....or instead of the credits ??a pin?? not sure.. don't collect them.

Hopefully with Disney calling guests to let them know how tough it is for guests to get reservations some guests that have multiple adr's for the same night will release some.
