Got a call from DVC last night, need your input

If WDW wants more of my money, they'd better give me and therefore mine a better incentive to leave the relaxation of OKW.

10 days on our last trip - - how many days in a park??? 3......

so, therefore i have to agree with all those wishing for discounts. I am afraid that WDW doesn't give us the time of day - they figure we are a captive audience!

so - realistically, another ditto for on-line requests and web casts.

thanks!

DVC AKL ALL THE WAY! They need build dvc there, it would be a dream come true. Also dvc on monorail would be cool and more discounts!
Matt

How about a real discount on tickets...I don't spend every minute in the parks and the current situations saves me no money because I just want a 4 day park hopper for a 6 or 7 day trip!!
I have to buy my tickets at AAA for any kind of discount...

Why not extend the 10% to all ticket media? I can't believe that it would be so much of a consession!!

Thanks for the chance to voice an opinion!!

Great post Mickey Maniac!
If you take all of these suggestions to the focus group, they won't need any other participants. I suggest you take a printout of this thread to show Disney that all they need to do is ask!

I hate to sound paranoid but this is the first time I have heard Member Services calling people at home at night asking them to be part of a focus group. My spider sense tells me this was another timeshare company in Orlando that may want to sell you something.

I received a phone call last year to participate in a DVC focus group in downtown Chicago. It was fun to meet other members, voice my opinion, and for my trouble, I got some nice DVC logo gifts as well as an American Express gift certificate.

I have to post again on two points:

1) I want to add a second, third, fourth, etc to the front of the line concept. I just returned from Disneyland and was made aware of a special pass that had unlimited fastpasses. This was for people staying in certain hotels and buying a package. We obviously stay onsite and bought a package - the biggest package that Disney offers! This might require a special DVC AP, but they might get more DVC'ers to buy the AP with this perk. So, more money for Disney - how can they argue with that?

2) Discounts. I, like everyone else want to save money, but don't expect discounts...in fact any across the board discount would just hurt Disney - the difference between an AP and 3 day would still be large, thus the 3 dayers would probably continue to just get a 3 day. We are already getting a discount on lodging(as has been shown here numerous times); yea, they get a built in audience, but they also took some of their most loyal customers out of their expensive hotels.
I could see DVD campaigning to Disney on our behalf for Florida resident status - a stretch, but it could make sense. This is for more than just a discount - Florida residents get offered special packages and events at WDW, I would really like to see us included in some of that.

Automatically remove Florida Sales Tax from our charges, for us non-Florida residents, or give us the Florida residents discounts. That shouldn't cost Disney a cent.

I would like:
1)a readable point transaction on-line.
2)a food and fun package
3)a explanation of the room assigment system
Thanks for being our spokesperson.

I would like to see member meetings at other onsite resorts besides OKW and BWV. We own at VWL and stay there often. It's very inconvenient to get to OKW or BWV so early in the morning, especially if you don't have a car.

I also like the idea of DVC discounts for APs and PAPs.

Can we make the suggestions into a poll? You know exec's like to see the numbers. We can vote on the things we like to see the most. Than you can take a printout of the poll to the meeting.

Sandy

Thanks for asking!

A little VIP treatment would go a long way.....like, preferred tables at restaurants, a members only area for seeing parades and fireworks, a members lounge in each park with a free cup of lemonade and comfy seats to put your feet up for a while and escape the crowds....:earsgirl:

Florida resident discounts on AP.

Bring back the AP lounges in the parks and include DVC.

I just thought of this, and since this thread is getting long, I can't go back (not right now) and see if someone else mentioned it.

I'd like to see a "general" listing of what "seasons" are considered for Member Getaways. They've given us points info., but if they could generalize areas like: Mexico, Carribean, Europe, etc. and what their seasons are considered to be.

Just my sort-of newbie opinion.

Thanks for this post Mickey Maniac. It's good that DVC member services is seeking out member imput & suggestions--it shows they are interested & are concerned about changes/improvements.
Pass discounts have already been suggested several times in the post, but, I mention it AGAIN as I think this just shows that many (if not most) members would like to see a DVC admission discount of some kind. I think that as much as a 20% discount is OK for DVC members. It is probably one of the easiest issues for them to do something about.
Restrictions could be set up to avoid problems that could be created by the discount? It could be limited to a certain number per year (hoppers and/or annual passes) per membership.
INHO, this item added to DVC benefits would go far in making DVC members feel appreciated!!
Also, I would like to see the points required for cruising stablize--how about NO increases for a couple of years?
Could you mention a concern about the "Disney Collection" in general--how with point increases every year (IMHO) make it less of a member benefit? I don't expect much here, but, it's good to let them know what members are thinking.
Thanks again MICKEYMANIAC:D :D

Wow Again and Again!!!

OK, I still have two more days (seems like forever), but here is what I have so far for the most popular suggestions. Don't worry, I will bring all of them and put as many as I can up for suggestion at the meeting.

Online Account Management
Admission Ticket Discount
Prpoerty Wide Discount on purchases (10%?)
Florida Resident Discount
DVC Dining/Recreation plan
AKL DVC Resort (maybe Poly or DL too)
Webcast of annual meeting

Let me know if I've missed anything major.

And keep on giving more. I will keep track up until Saturday night as we leave the house VERY early on Sunday.

For those others that have been invited, I look forward to meeting you there.

Mickey Maniac~

First, I would like to thank you for generously volunteering to communicate the wishes of DVCers on this board.

I fall in with the masses that have a desire to see an online DVC account management system with reservation capability, point maintenance, etc.

Second, I think the Florida Pass discount for DVCers is appropriate. This has been discussed on this board before. It's a legitimate request. I think it is short sighted of Disney to think they have a captive audience. Our last trip to BCV we bought 5 day PHPs and came home with 2 days left. We weren't motivated to keep going back to the parks to spend, spend, spend. A 10% off park wide discount, including restaurants would be great.

I look forward to your report once you get back.
Nancy :earsgirl:

I want more DVC merchandise available to purchase - nice jerseys for the ladies, not just golf shirts and t-shirts. And how about a catalog so we can purchase items over the internet or by mail. I love the colors and design of the original emblem. Lets get back to those colors.

Don't forget to mention the fact that the off-site DVC resorts add VALUE as well as variety to the overall program. Since Disney has made the decision to goudge DVCers for any type of point exchange within the Disney family (DCL/DC), as well as fail to offer us a real pass discount, the offsites have a growing interest for me.
