Gosh..Do you think there will be any August National codes?

It just seems like there is always a code for anytime of the year. Is this the first time there is no/hardly any codes?

There are some web codes now on their official site. Though not the best I've seen them, click on their specials to see their new updates to Dec. 2005. The folks in June got great rates and I'm hoping us July folks start seeing some movment soon. I have a great rate already at $101 for a week total for full size (booked ages ago). I also have good rates for our September, October and December trips, but still always looking for something better.

I just tried the American Express contract code and $20 Entertainment Coupon, got $183 for a week for 8/6 to 8/13 (intermediate) vs $292 with no code or coupon.

The best I can do for 8/7 to 8/14 was with Priceless and $20 coupon full size $200, and Priceless and 2 upgrade coupon from compact to standard $194. This is kind of hard for us to swallow when we had a convertible for 8 days in April for $134. Hoping rates will drop in the next few weeks. The last ressie I made in April was about 10 days before we left.

I went last August (11-18) and the best rate I could get is 184.10 all included for a week. This was using the Carlson Contract ID and Ent Coupon. I watched rates for 6 months and that is the best we could do for an Intermediate off of the EA.

I'm sensing this is going to be the case. All of the car rental agencies have discounts that ended June 30 and new ones that begin August 21st. July and early to mid-August must be a pretty busy time for rentals since there isn't anything discounted then.

My July trip is about 2 weeks away and my rate has not changed since I booked it many months ago. I'm happy with it, so won't complain, but think that this is a higher time for rentals. Most of us go back and check to see if our rates drop as we get closer to our trips, but so far nothing. I'm paying $100 for a full size (executive aisle) for 6 days. This is with the $20 ent. coupon and priceless code. My base rate is $110 a week, but it was nice seeing the base rate drop for our June friends to $89 a week....I was secretly hoping for the same drop. Maybe for my September trip there'll be some lower fares.

I guess I just started too late for looking into a car. I have always had good luck finding great weeks with August codes. $164 for a week which included all the taxes. The best I could do so far is $207 with National EA service.

What are the best codes that I could use. I have a car booked with budget, but I am going to see if I can get a cheaper rate with national. thanks.
