My DS used "Gorilla Glue" this afternoon to glue down some padding in the
back over our company van. He would put the glue on the shelves then lay down the padding and smooth it over with his hands. Needless to say, the GLUE came oozing through the pads and DS did not give it a thought as he
would continue to smooth out the padding.

NOW, his hands are a MESS. He has glue, dirt, grime all stuck all over his hands. He has tried soap and water, comet/ajax, nail polish remover and went to HD and bought "GOJO" and NOTHING works. Both the palms of his hands are completely blackened and a complete mess. :furious:

He is in a HUGE golf tournament on Sunday not to mention classes at University on Monday.

ANYBODY HAVE ANY IDEAS WHAT WE SHOULD DO TO REMOVE THE GLUE ON HIS HANDS. :confused3 :confused3 :confused3

from their website
Q.What happens if I get Gorilla Glue on my hands or clothes?

A. Wash hands with water and soap immediately. If Gorilla Glue dries on your hands, you will usually wait 3 to 5 days to wear it off. Apply hand cream or lotion regularly to help soften up the dried glue.

We recommend wearing gloves while gluing or a disposable brush. Gorilla Glue cannot be removed from clothes easily so we suggest wearing old or protective clothing.

OKAY, we have that...off to TRY "goo be gone"....will UPDATE in a few...

Thanks!

Gorilla glue is great stuff!! But it does tend to expand (ooze) so I've learned to use less than I think I should.

Vaseline and sandpaper. Rub teh vaseline onto the hands then carefully rub hands with sandpaper. Repeat until glue is loosened and removed. Thats what my husband uses and he says it works. Good Luck!

OKAY...it is vaseline and sandpaper next!!! At least BOTH DH and DS are really thinking this DISing Mom does all day and all night...those PEOPLE have some good ideas...(hello, family, what do you think I have been telling you all for months... :lmao: )!!!

Will Mr Clean Magic Eraser take it off? I'm just guessing here....since its gentle but does "wear" off other marks. :confused3

Also.....VERY FINE steel wool is used to get marks off of furniture without damaging the surface. So.....maybe an SOS pad even though that is rougher than very fine steel wool.

Too funny! A pumice stone would work too.

From a web search:

I, too, am a convert to the foam glues, like Gorilla glue. And, try as I might, some always gets on my hands, even though I keep a large box of disposable gloves nearby. But, I would NEVER use lacquer thinner, as was recently advised, on my hands. Instead, a simple pumice stone will remove the glue in a flash, and leave your hands looking good, to boot!

Acetone ...... or an acetone based nail polish remover.

So.......does he still have hands & skin after all this? :rotfl:

Just in case for the Golf Game Aren't there gloves that they can wear?? I'm sure my boss has golf gloves.

If he can move his hands :rotfl2:

Well he is still out in the garage working...so he has not tried the vaseline and sandpaper YET...

The pumice stone sounds great BUT I do not have one here at the house tonight. He will have to purchase one tomorrow.

Good point about the glove...even though you usually only wear ONE..I will tell him to wear them on both hands...(I am sure that will NOT happen :lmao: )!!!!!

Splash: He tried the nail polish remover...NO GOOD!!!

Ahhh...the Magic Eraser...have THAT and will suggest using that as well.

YOU GUYS ARE AWESOME!!!!
