Goofy's Kitchen

Was thinking about either doing breakfast or lunch at Goofy's Kitchen and was wondering how it was? Is breakfast better than lunch? How is the character interaction? Are there characters at lunch or just at breakfast? What characters are there? How do you get to the DL hotel from the Grand Californian and how long does it take to get there? We're going to have a birthday while we're there. Do I mention this when I make the PS or when we check in? Can I get my AAA discount here?

Hi Terk, DD and I were there March 2003. We had dinner at Goofy's kitchen. I wasn't impressed with the food. Just standard buffet fare. I think I actually just ate the chicken fingers off the kids buffet. Desserts not impressive either. Characters were Goofy, Minnie, Sleeping Beauty and I think Pluto. There may have been more but I didn't see them. They made the rounds. Bout the only think I saw interesting is that Minnie was really hanging out with a cute dad!

Grand Californian is about 1/2 way between DL hotel and the parks at the far end of DownTown Disney. It's about a 7 minute walk.

I would tell them there's a birthday. I know there was a birthday bucket that could be purchased at that time with a birthday pin in it. I think they would also for no charge bring out a little cupcake and wait staff would sing. Don't know about any discount.

We also did Chip and Dale's Storytime Cafe breakfast there at the GC. That was good. The characters there seemed a little more animated and goofed around with us more. I just remember Chip, Dale and Pluto there.

See the link below for my trip report for DD's birthday. Half way through is our review of Goofy's Kitchen (we went for dinner). There is no lunch at Goofy's Kitchen there is only brunch, which runs from about 7:00 am-2pm (not exactly sure on the time). But we had a BLAST!!
