Right now I have ADRs for both and love the menu for brunch but it might be easier and fun to eat dinner the night of arrival but the items seems limited. Only a carving station fish and salads for adults? Does anyone have recommendations?

I love Goofy's kitchen and Chef Mickey's so much I wish there was a Donald 's place?

The character experience will be the same no matter when you go. I love eating there on our arrival night, as sort of a kick-off to the visit. The food is pretty standard buffet fare, but I've always found something I like. Yes, a carving station, yes usually a fish dish, but there is usually something else too, and it varies. Maybe a chicken dish? Also potatoes and vegetable dishes.

I went to goofys kitchen for dinner. I don't remember specifically what I ate beyond the yummy deserts, but I'm pretty sure there was a pretty good selection of food to try.

You don't really go there for the food, you go for the character experience, and that shouldn't be different.

I agree! I think it's a great way to kick off the trip and to start the disney experience, rather than paying for an extra day of tickets. We found plenty of options food-wise. There was tri-tip available as well, last time we went.

I too am going to agree that Goofy's is a fantastic way to kick off a trip or to keep that Disney experience going throughout your trip. I think you should go based on what you plan to do that day. I personally love going there for dinner, but I have had just a great experience at brunch. I don't think that you would have a bad experience no matter when you went. I do however find it much more relaxing to go for a later Dinner. I want to share with you a video I took at Goofy's Kitchen when the Mad Hatter ran off with my camera. He's just the best :D

Just an FYI, but the Mad Hatter does not appear at GK any more, nor will he unless they make big changes again. The selection is pretty set at Goofy, Minnie, Chip, Dale and Pluto.
