We have done the Goofy's breakfast twice once fairly early and had loads of characters, once a after the park had opened and there were less characters so I am curious what is the character interaction like at the Dinner sitting?

i though the dinner was good, we saw peaterpan, jasmin, minni, chip, dale, goffy, pluto, maybe a few others (and they had shrimp i couldnt get it my whole trip and then there it was on kids part at goffys kitchen I was like yumm)

We have ps there for our upcoming trip and I'm hoping there are a lot of characters there in the evening at dinner. Normally I wouldn't care that much since it would be just a group of adults and as long as the atmosphere is fun it wouldn't be a big deal if there were a lot of characters.
But we'll be joined by my 3 year old niece and her parents for that particular meal and I want little Ella to get to meet a lot of characters. I'm pretty sure Ella hasn't been around too many characters though so she might wish there were none! LOL. I don't know if she'll love them or be afraid of them.

Hey Kelli! I took my 5yo niece and nephew to WDW last year, and I read a great tip that I wanted to pass along to you. We were worried about the same thing, and someone on the DIS suggested showing the kids some of the planning videos or if travel channel shows one of the parks documentaries, show them that so they can see the size of the characters and have a good idea about what to expect. We also talked with them about the characters, how big they are, but they are very nice and friendly, and also not to play rough with them. I don't know if it was that or they just weren't scared anyway, but they LOVED all of the characters!! Just an FYI - hope you have a wonderful trip!!

Dinner is very busy. We always get the first dinner reservation of the day (5PM, I think), and there's a long line to get checked in (we arrived around 4:40), then a long wait to be seated (usually seated around half an hour after our PS time.)

The first time we kept the kids close, thinking we'd get called shortly. They got antsy. The second time we wised up; DH and I took turns waiting in line, we brought the kids to see Pluto, then let them go watch cartoons. Sometimes I watched with them, but as the time got close I stood outside the door to keep an eye on DH so I could grab the kids quickly when we got called.

Just go in expecting a bit of a wait. It's busy inside, sometimes the characters come around pretty quickly (one right after the other, not stopping very long), and sometimes you have a chance to have a few bites between them. Some will stop and chat or play with your kids for a bit, which is nice. Usually guests will wait at their tables for the characters to come around, but this last time there were a few kids who followed the characters around. I think the CMs with the characters are probably better about controlling this at GK.

This behavior was much worse at the Minnie & Friends breakfast, IMO, and ironically we encountered a CM who was quite snotty about it as well. We were bypassed by Eeyore twice on his way through our room (DS3 really wanted to see him, but I told him he had to sit and wait), so I asked on our way out if we could see him. He was about to take a break, but the CM said we could wait and she'd make sure he spoke with our kids before continuing on his rounds. So we waited, but when Eeyore came back another CM told us to get back to our table.

I explained that we'd already left our table, but had waited to see Eeyore as instructed, and the CM gave a quiet but public tongue-lashing to the nice CM who'd said we could wait. Oyyyyy... Some people just don't belong in customer service. :headache:

we had a late dinner ps time but things happined so we decied to check see if we could go early they said ited be 45mins, then we checked in and sat down 5mins later i kid u not they called me up and had our table it was so close to the food, my son finely joined in on the dance with goffy and i recorded the little bit he was doing
