Goofy's Barnstomer

We took our 2 year old daughter on it. Her response was screaming in excitement down the first drop and around every turn:scared1: . She loved it. It was as if she had experience in rollercoaster riding.

My dd turns 2 in 2 months. We will be in the World in June, she is 37 inches. What is the height requirement and do you think it will freak her out? My boys were older when this ride first appeared.

We are going in September! Last year our daughter was too small for the Barnstormer. This year she will be 2.5 so I am hoping she is big enough. It's one of those things that I hope she still wants to try :) Seriously, that Barnstormer is a highlight of our trip! It really is fun - I'm a coaster nut and I like it!

I must be in the minority: my then three year old rode and found it very jerky. She hit her head on the side of the car and cried for quite a while. She has been on it when we returned to Disney, but would only ride it once. My seven year old loved it when he was her age and would want to ride it again and again.

Now you are making me nervous......

we plan on having our arm around our son if he decides he wants to ride it.
DH is super protective, so if ds decideds he wants to try it, he will probably be the one riding it with him and will probably have him in a great big bear hug or something knowing him........:rotfl:

Another poster asked the height requirement....it is 36 inches.

Steph, I think I'm just lucky that my son liked it so much. I have to keep telling myself my daughter may not! I hated reading that your daughter bumped her head. I wouldn't like it much either after that. :)

Your husband sounds like us! I put my arms around my kids and was so worried and they told me to "get off!" My dd was 2 when she rode it also but then again she is the kid who would probably ride RnR coaster.:sad2: She's doesn't like waiting for any rides and gets stressed because she thinks it will be scary and then once on the ride she has her hands in the air telling me to let go of her.:scared1: It's making me go a little gray!:rotfl:

I'm in the minority, too. DD was 4 when shewent with me and cried the second it started. Luckily it was a very short ride and she was fine after it ended. I am hoping that she will try it again along with my 3 yo DS. My DH does not do big rides, so I was hoping for a buddy to ride some of the bigger rides with me, we'll see.

That's funny.....:rotfl:

I hope my DS will be a thrill rider when he gets old enough and DH and I are and don't want him to miss out.

We went 3 weeks before my dd's 3rd birthday and she LOVED this ride. One evening, we rode it over and over and over. Probably 15 straight rides. My ds5, however, is not so brave and wouldn't get on it. Daddy took him to Mickey and Minnie's houses to explore.

It's a pretty smooth ride -- very short though. If you catch it late in the evening, say just before closing, there's never a line.

My dd was 2 and 3 months and tall enough but was tried and didn't want to go without mommy or daddy even with her favorite much loved uncle. So we didn't push it and she didn't ride it.

She was a daredevil then and still is. I think next time she'd go ALONE because she rides the kiddie rides around here at carnivals alone. Of course I hope to be in shape and lose enough weight to actually share in her momment without embarassment. Next time she will be tall enough for just about everything though as she is already 41 1/2 inches at 3 1/2 years. She'll probably be 5 by the time we go again though.

When we went last Feb. my son was almost 2.5. He LOVED it!! In fact, if you ask him now what his favorite ride is he will say Goofy's Barnstormer. We rode it so many times, I lost count. At one point during late EMH we rode it 3 or 4 times in a row without getting off. BTW my DD5 liked it, though not as much as BTMRR. That was her favorite.

My son is pretty fearless of physical things (i.e. jumping or climbing) and we never had a problem with any ride that he could see beforehand. Now, dark or loud things (think Mickey's Philarmagic or The Little Mermaid at MGM) he covered his ears and sometimes his eyes. I think, just know your child and listen to them and their fears. You will have a blast!!!

Interestingly my dd at the time 2 yrs 3 months didn't want to ride Barnstormer with uncle but would have with mommy or daddy. But she LOVED Mickey's Philarmagic and wore the 3D glasses the entire time.

Traci, I just asked her if she wanted to ride it when we go to Disney on spring break and she said yes, so I don't think we've scarred her for life against it. I'm not sure what happened, she just sort of knocked her head against the side of the car: it never happened with our son.

My ds rode it one time at 23 months- just shy of his 2nd birthday. He was/is tall for his age.
Here we are:
I found out afterwards that Disney actually has a recommended age of three yrs for this ride (saw it on their website). Strangely no CM tried to stop us from riding even though he was tall, he still didn't look like a 3yr old IMO.

TIPS & FUN FACTS
The Barnstormer at Goofy's Wiseacre Farm is designed for adults and children to be able to ride together. Children must be at least three years old to ride.

It's a very short ride too - about 1minute long maybe... So no worries. My ds is a little dare devil though. He loves it and has ridden it many times on subsequent trips (he was 3.5yrs on our last trip).

That;s good to hear that she is not scared of it now.

I am just going to take my DS to Toontown when we go, show him people going on the Barnstormer and just ask him if he wants to try it.

If he says yes, then either myself or DH will take him on it. If not, I will not force him.

DD has rode it for quite a while now. I STILL put my arm around her though. . (she bumped her head once on it as we were turning the corner). But I MAINLY do it because SHE holds her hands up and gets her laugh/scream on!!!:rotfl:

Goofy's Barnstomers was my DD now 7 first Coast experience. It was love at first ride. The first time she rode, she was 2 1/2 - although she is far more adventurous now, she still enjoys it - she now gets off saying - "its too short - thats nothing".
