Goodbye Epcot Wand...?

Screamscape is reporting that this atrocious addition to Spaceship Earth may finally be coming down.

Screamscape sources tell us that when Spaceship Earth goes down for rehab there is also a plan to remove the giant magic wand from over the top of the sphere. This likely wont happen until towards the later end of the project when crowds are lighter and they can close off the pathway on that side of the ride. Of course that would also coincide with the peak of hurricane season.

The wand never bothered me. Though there was something about it without the wand that made it so much more majestic looking.

I'm a big Mickey fan and I like the Sorcerer. But the wand on Spaceship Earth and the BAH in MGM really are out of place.

I've never liked the hand, and I'm glad to see it go, but if I can be honest, I've grown quite fond of the hat at MGM.

I was talking to one of the engineer guys at MGM about the hat. He said they would move the hat over to EPCOT and install it on Spaceship Earth in late August or early September. Sorry can't tell you his name.

I wouldn't put it past them to do something like that! Sometimes Disney gets everything just right and other times you wonder what idiot thought of that idea.


Oh the new Stich ride!!!!!!!!!!! I bet that's what the rehad of Spaceship Earth will be. It'll be totally gutted and have a dark ride with Snitch jumping out at you and burping that chili dog smell.
