Good Walking Shoes?

Just wondering if anyone has any suggestions for a shoe you can walk in all day without the achy feet? I saw a posting about Teva sandals....can anyone tell me about those or anything else you've used. I have some comfortable Nikes, but I'm not really a tennis shoe/socks kind of girl in the summer, but I can't imagine wearing any of the sandals that I have all day.

There are numerous brands and most have strong opinions about their favorite. I have alway's had great luck with Rockport. Here's a couple of tips we use;
- make sure the shoes are well broken in. Purchase weeks/months before going.
- bring a second pair. If your shoes get wet they can dry out without taking them to a laundrymat
- Change your socks after lunch
- Apply moleskin if you feel a blister coming on.

It depends a great deal on what you enjoy doing, and of course the weather. If you want to do Splash Mountain (it's awesome!), you may get some wet shoes. No one likes walking around all day in wet shoes. Teva Sandals are the overall favorite, because they have the soles comparable to a really good tennis shoe, yet are designed to get wet and dry out quickly. There are various models of Teva's, so depending on what you like, and how much you want to spend, you may want to look at a variety of styles.

If you prefer the non-water type rides, and the weather is warm, look for a shoe that breathes well, (Florida is really warm and humid), and has a comfortable sole. You will be walking on hot Asphalt and sidewalks all day. You will need to wear something. If it's a cool day, your Nikes will be just fine. If it's a hot day, you will cook your little piggies.

Hope this helps. Oh, and one last word of advice, the cheapest Teva's are not always the best one's. The secret is in the sole. The cheap Teva's have a solid sole, the more expensive one's have a sole made of several types of materials. I've also heard good things about 'Sandals' brand as well.

Any shoe or sandal made by SAS is great. There is no break-in time and they are recommended by orthopedic doctors. Not many styles though

I have a pair of Nike sport sandals that I just love. They are comfortable and I live in them all summer. They're not leather so you can get them wet and they dry out quickly. My favorite summer shoes!

walking on clouds. They follow your foot not your foot having to drag a flip floppy sandle!! I got mine for $39.99 at www.rei-outlet.com. and you should checkout the budget board!!!

I have Teva Kinetic and the circuit and I love them both! the Kinetic are made with the shock insole and are on the basis of a sneaker. in faact while at my podiatrist this afternoon I spoke to him about it and they do recommend Teva's not the one piece rubber ones tho...they also recommend clarks and mephistos(have a pair of those for work at the airport and they are great!) they do not recommend Birkenstocks because they are too hard for people to get used to and they must mold to your foot. The person who keeps saying Teva's suck doesn't like them. in fact if you can you can even go to the teva websight and read about them and then do a search on the itnernet and you can find out who has good shoes/sandels etc and who doesn't. for instance easy spirit shoes are made by nine west and are terrible. very bad ratings as well. I went and did searches from many podiatrists on the itnernet as well and they also have a good preference for the Teva's. I asked my podistrist this afternoon if they got a kickback for recommending certain shoes and his answer was "I wish then I'd have a lot more money than I do!"
