Good vacuum for pet hair

I have a Shark lift-away, the one specific for animals and I love it. It's an older model but it still works great. I know the newer ones are even easier to clean the roller bar. I had a Dyson animal and it was heavy plus constantly getting clogged. No issues ever with my Shark and it's so light.

I was wondering if anyone here could recommend a good vacuum for picking up pet hair. I have 2 cats and a dog. It is mostly the dog fur that is everywhere. It can be cordless or with a cord. $400 or less would be good. I've always had a cheap vacuum but I would like one that actually works. Thanks!

I'll be honest the only thing that's really shown any difference is our irobot... I thought it was ridiculous when my husband first wanted to get one, but it's made a huge difference. - I'm sure mainly because we run it every day while at work and we used to only vaccuum once a week, but it is really nice not to have dog hair everywhere (we have 2 bigger dogs - one's a lab and they both shed a lot.) It's worked so well that we bought a 2nd one for our second floor. They run at the same time each day and we've all noticed a huge difference.
