I love to spend the morning at DHS and then either walk or take the friendship boat down to the Epcot resort area or even all the way Epcot for the afternoon and dinner.
The boat ride is nice, but it really is not that bad of a walk all the way from DHS to Epcot. Sometimes you can walk it faster than the boat because the boat goes to the Boardwalk, Dolphin/Swan, Beach/Yacht Club before going to the International Gateway at Epcot. (There is a thread on the board that tells the order the boat goes, I just can't remember the exact route)
Not sure what you are looking for dinner wise, but here are a few ideas in that area
At the Boadwalk there is the ESPN Club (bar food), Pizza take out window with tables and chairs by the lake, Kouzzina (1 table service credit if using
Disney Dining Plan) and Flying Fish (Signature Seafood that is 2 table service credits)
Across the lake is the Yacht and Beach Club hotels. Cape May has a buffet dinner, but it also has a fun restaurant called Beaches and Cream. Burgers, Fries and awesome Ice Cream treat. The Yacht club has Captains Grille (1 TS credit and the Yachtsman Steakhouse (signature 2 TS credits)
If you go on down to the International Gateway at Epcot you will enter the park between the countries of United Kingdom and France. It is a short stroll to at Canada, UK or France. All three have nice table service restaurants.
Hope this helps.
